~~~@Beaf, it so pathetic that you are basing your judgement on those figures, i am a rivers man by birth, born and grew up in diobu, Azikiwe st, to be precise, i know the number of port harcourt boys and girls that bought more than 3 JAMB forms each just to be able to cheat during the exams, thats just what those no. you posted means, I wont say much on this but if you really want to know how bad you guys are not just academically but generally in life then contact me on deyou1400@yahoo.com: ND youths need to wake up from their slumber, enough of all these touts called militants proclaiming themselves as their pple saviours~~~
Give away! There is a strong contradiction in the your words.
One by one, we are catching these mumu Hausa-Fulani who are scared stiff of losing their "birthright". grin
Thank God you know FG has no presense in Bayelsa. They have never ever even been connected to the national electricity grid. But no doubt, they should be thankful to benevolent Nigeria.
~~~Yes, yes, and more yes, Ijaws in the west have been fighting with everybody, Itsekiris, Urhobos, Igbos, Yorubas, Edos.
If it's a good and justifiable fight, I don't think you'll be lying about it.
Sorry naijaking1. You are only digging yourself deeper and getting dishonest.

Thank God, I know Warri politics inside out; I know Dr. Emmanuel Urhobo and his family extremly well.

Dr. Emmanuel Urhobo is the most peaceful of all men.
You failed to mention the most important thing, which is; he is a lawyer who is the main legal advocate for Agbahra Urhobo's in Warri. Where is the war in that?

Ibime: No, you are the only Nigerian who has heard of Ijaw-Urhobo conflict. Perhaps it is a spiritual war that you witnessed in your dream.

The one we know is Ijaw-Itsekiri.
Ibime. De guy na inventor! grin He's been caught making it up.

@naijaKing1
There has never been Ijaw-Urhobo. It has always been Itsekiri-Ijaw and Itsekiri Urhobo.
The roots of that problem lie in heavy Itsekiri involvement with slave trade.
They raided and sold Urhobo people, got rich on the proceeds and decided to lord it over the both the Warri Urhobo and the Warri Ijaw (Oproza's who gave both the Itsekiri and Urhobo land to inhabit).

Politics › Boko Haram - 'top Govt Officials Are With Us' by Beaf(op): 7:53pm On Aug 07, 2009
Fleeing members of Boko Haram, yesterday challenged some top aides of the state Governor, Ali Sheriff, to swear publicly that they have no link with them.

The fundamentalists also said they are ready to come out with the true picture of everything, insisting that the movement is still very much around and that the deaths of some of their leaders and members cannot stop them.

An anonymous text message written in Hausa, sent to our correspondent, read :

"Al Gaskiya zata tabbata ko bayan mutuwar malan da sahabansa. Ina sohuwar minister takasar middle belt? Ina senata mai cit a sakiyar ta jihar ku? Ina sohar kwamashona ayanzu chiama a kudancin jihar ku? Ina yankasuwa magoyin bayan harancecen gwannan? Meya raba su da ustaz Buji fai? Ai dukkansu sunayin taimako. Sufito fili su rantse idan basu da hannu. Munnnan daku. Idan ana nemar gaskiya zamuzo meduguri mufadeta koda mu ba yankasan ba."

This literally means, "The truth shall prevail after the death of Mallam and his followers. What is the fate of the former minister from the middle belt? What is the fate of the current senator from your state (Borno), where are the former commissioners now? Let them come out and swear that they don't have a hand. We are still together. If people are seeking the truth, we shall come to Maiduguri to tell them, even if we are not indigenes of Borno State."

Politics › Bomb Scare In Abuja? by Beaf(op): 7:41pm On Aug 07, 2009
To be honest, the country is breaking into bits.

Security was beefed up yesterday around the Federal Secretariat Abuja following alleged threats by Niger Delta militants to bomb the complex if the Federal Government refuses to relocate the Ministry of Niger Delta from Abuja to the Niger Delta region.

A Daily Trust reporter observed yesterday that the separate buildings housing the former Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) were unusually guarded by heavily armed mobile policemen and staff were made to queue up and show identification to be permitted entry into the building.

People with genuine reasons like contractors are also allowed into the secretariat during the working hours while visitors are only allowed entry from 12: pm with their identification cards.

Both the exit and entrance to the building were manned by Nigeria Civil Security Defence Corps officials, policemen and plainclothes officials carrying walkie-talkies.

The normally busy lane in front of the building was cordoned off from both sides by police vehicles including a police bomb disposal squad truck while the service lane meant for pedestrian has been taken over by vehicles.

The ND is much more organised than you can fathom. You will be suprised at how quickly the oil regions will split away if theres such an attack. The means to wage a war lie in control of oil, ND largely has control of the oil as well as willpower.

naijaKing1: Why are you so confused?
We're not talking about 1700, or 1800s, we're talking about 1914 after Nigeria was amalgamated, and many tribes were forced into the NIgerian experiment.
We're not talking about selling slaves to the white people for cash, we're talking about generating revenue after slave trade has ended.
You have to keep your historical perspective correct.
Slave trading was done by Igbo's at Arochuckwu and Itsekiri's in Warri and Ijaw.

tpia: am I seeing double or isnt Delta State topping this list here.

@ OP- are you sure you're coherent? Abi there's another state with the initials DEL in Nigeria.
tpia always resurrects at the wrong time to say the daftest things. Delta state is the most educated per capita in Nigeria and has always been.

Because of quota system, Delta state always has the highest JAMB cutoff marks to make way for the Boko Harams of the country (point at yourself) to get an education. Something they usually fail at.
Even with the high cutoff marks, they still have to give up spaces, because of limited allocations.

I am sure you've never heard of the quota system in education, because your state (alongside the North) is likely to be benefitting. Thats life anyway, you feed them free and they grow up stupid.

I am not suprised at the height of your ignorance, some people from majority groups think they are somehow better than minorities, or minorities are undeserving of anything they've genuinely worked for.

Nigeria is the Worlds top gas flarer (13%). We produce more greenhouse gases than the whole of sub-saharan Africa combined. It amounts to 3.25% the total gas consumtion of the US and 4% of total gas consumption in the EU.

Nigeria flares 23 billion cubic meters per year, enough to meet all our energy needs, with a surplus for export, yet PHCN supplies constant blackout; are they ND as well? shocked

The country foolishly burns up US $2.5 billion annually through flaring. If some Nigerians embrace stupidity and blame the ND for polution, then it is no wonder that for this huge losses, oil companies have only been charged between US$150,000 and US$370,000 annually shocked. Yes, lets blame ND elders because we are a little stupid.
I have only spoken of costs (the only thing that concerns some people), nothing has been said about the deadly toxins released by these flares (several of which exist in close proximity to communities). . . Maybe ND people don't matter.

One more time, that's your useless and incompetent leaders responsibility, that's what the monthly statutory allocations and all the extra jara are for.

You have state and local leaders for a reason. Why don't you just ask the feds to declare Marshall Law in the delta and institute direct rule and governance, obviously, your people can't get the job done. The only tin the heartless ass holes sabi do na to blow up innocent people and steal money.
Blaming the victim is something we've learnt from colonial masters and the likes of KKK. FG has a 60% share in all oil contracts, the other 40% is for the oil companies. ND leaders do not run the FG - the FG alone has set and broken enddates for gas flaring and levy's only the lightest punishment for environmental disasters (the FG bearing a 60%, doesn't want to fine itself).

However, I welcome the day we'll be able to blame our leaders as you very ignorantly suggest; because on that day, we will have 100% resource control.

we have been allowing criminals to parade themselves as militants and i think its time we eradicate them, cos if u nogiate with them we will be setting precedence.i also subscribe to using covert military operations to wipe these crimals out.

This militants are something else, even if the FG give all the oil blocks to them they will still be carrying guns then that they abadoned them cos they wont know what to do.

I went to warri recently couple of weeks back, i made a pathetic observation, pls anyone in the house shld pls correct me. "the numbers of hotels in warri are far more than the numbers of schools in warri"

The question that came to my mind is that, these militants can build hotels for themselves but waiting for the FG to come and build schools, the truth is that they still wont go. pls FG should go and build the new proposed Oil & Gas University in OGUN state abeg for those that want to

Actually the military option has not even been implemented.
Clearly since the advent of the fourth republic there has been a conscious effort of the society to find a lasting political/diplomatic solution to the niger delta question.  These have not really yielded much fruit. What we are seeing is just more and more escalation in attacks and demands from militant groups in the niger delta.

Eventually a military solution would be inevitable, which would have serious consequences for the militants given the nature of the terrain and the consequent difficulty/impossibility of building fortifications. I mean how do they hope to withstand an attack launched against them using squadrons of helicopter gunships and attack helicopters, naval blockade, and follow-up assaults by special police and infantry units, such an attack being sustained over a 1 month period?

Trust me that this attack would be implemented before there is even any consideration of the issue by any supranational body like the UN or even any kangaroo international court.

I guess this is why the more prudent of the militants have decided to cut their losses and head to Abuja or even evacuate to the West.
Was that the sound of your little brain falling through your arse? "UN or even any kangaroo international court".
You sound a bit like Hitler; you really sound like you hate ND people.

In any event, maybe you haven't heard that JTF is pulling out of Delta state which produces 40% of the oil and is the capital of MEND. Why? Or that JTF cost the nation $3 billion to set up and arm, yet they were died by the dozen in the creeks. All they could do was shell and bomb villages from afar without denting the power of the millitants. A waste of $3 billion and scarce common sense.
Talking a bit more about common sense; who has more to lose in a war between ND and Nigeria? Already oil companies operating in Nigeria cannot get bank loans and the 2009 budget is in trouble.

Politics › Oil Royalties: Fg Bows To South South Govs by Beaf(op): 1:06am On Aug 06, 2009
The controversy surrounding the exclusion of payment of royalties to oil-producing communities in the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) is about to be resolved.
The original bill gave five per cent of the royalties to the community and 25 per cent to the states where the oil is produced.
It was, however, withdrawn and a second bill was introduced in which the host communities would not be entitled to any interest if passed.
This, along with the reported relocation of the Petroleum University from Effurun, Delta State, to Kaduna, had incurred the wrath of South-south governors who subsequently threatened to pull out of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s amnesty deal for Niger Delta militants.
It emerged yesterday that the Federal Government might have bowed to pressure by oil companies as well as leaders of the Niger Delta region to incorporate payment of royalties to the communities in the bill. . .

The military and security services should do the job the're there to do (besides planning coups off course). Occupy the delta region permanently and deploy all the SSS, DMI etc to the region.
What a joke!
The govt spent $3 billion arming JTF, still no way! Instead there is they are offering unilateral "amnesty" which MEND is rejecting.
