Most of you that are condeming the killing of Yusuf by the NPF/NA have never lived in the north cos if you have you will know that people like him are better of dead. Inshort if i have my way i will even execute those still in detention.
Obviously you haven't heard about the hero worship of "matyrs".
They've been snuffing out, killing, executing them in Afghanistan for years now. . . Still they pop up through societal cracks and crevices, buoyed by matyrdom tales.

The importance of investigating the roots of a crime as serious as that perpetrated by Boko Haram cannot be stressed, but the prime suspect is dead and all trails now lead nowhere. Clever?

Corporal Rabiu Bello attached to Kaduna State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) requested a young
apprentice, Haliru Slau Agaba to buy a stick of cigarette for him. Haliru responded that he could not afford it. Corporal
Bello "pulled out a pistol and pumped bullets into the young apprentice, who slumped" (The News, Lagos, 30.04.01). . .

Mrs. Iroh, while roasting plantain (a
local delicacy of the poor) by the roadside was killed by the bullets from the gun of a policeman. The police merely
described the incident as an accidental discharge, and nothing whatsoever was done to contact the family of Mrs. Iroh.
No apology was rendered and no compensation was contemplated.

The list is endless. Unfortunately, the recurring brutality is not abating. Teeth are being gnashed and promising souls
continually lost. Dele Udoh, a very promising Nigerian athlete was brutally gunned down by the police in Lagos in 1999. A
very prominent Nigerian Fuji artist (Adewale Ayuba) was shot in the leg by policemen for refusing to give a “reasonable
settlement”. . .

Politics › Haul Nigeria Before The International Court Of Justice ICJ by Beaf(op): 2:52am On Aug 02, 2009
There have been a repeated series of extra-judicial killings in Nigeria.
It might seem that there is no authority to account for or bring justice to these murders in Nigeria.

The reasons for the most recent brazen and cold blooded executions, carried out in full glare of the World, are shrouded in the depths of  darkness.
A staccato of conflicting reports and explanations have erupted from various govt organs, leaving a trail of troubling questions such as; there is a possible and ongoing cover up; they are political assassinations; our law enforcement agencies are a band of immoral and cruel incompetents and criminals. . . Gloomy questions.

. . .But there is the International Court of Justice ICJ. Nigeria is a signatory! cool
Anybody can submit a claim to the ICJ. You can also remain anonymous if you so desire.

Is it not high time some of our criminals in high places were brought to book alongside the fellows like?

In a secular state, they have all gone sharply independent by adopting sharia law above the Nigerian constitution.
Arewa is also the region of Nigeria that has produced every single religious pogrom. Its elite have deliberately kept its population in penury and illiteracy.

Summary executions are already standard practice in Nigeria. Its just that its never been done so brazenly before; in repeated and open defiance of the international Human Rights organisations.
I expect Nigeria to hauled before the UN shortly. The West has been looking for an excuse to wrestle down the implementation of sharia across the North.

I think Yar'adua is trying hide something by ordering the security operatives to kill anyone they caught in connection with the "Boko Haram" movement. Mohammad Yusuf deserve a fair hearing. If Harry Okar would be realised unconditionally, why would Yusuf be executed by the government? Furthermore, if Niger-Delta militant would be granted amnesty by Yar'adua, why not the Boko Haram movement?
I agree that the executions are a disgrace, but the rest of your post is very stupid.
How can the Boko Haram who were fighting against education be compared to Niger Delta people fight against oppression? Sinse 1999, 20 ND communities have been erased from the map, Saro Wiwa was murdered, 50,000 have been shot and much more. All because we are minorities. Damn you, I hope Yusuf was your brother.

It is political. In the north, there is no way u can separate religion from politics. they go hand in hand. Ask any body from Bauchi will tell you it is political and it is all about 2011. Isah Yugudah is responsible for this. These people are innocent and hav nothing to do with all this cooked stories.

Infact their is reason to believe that if these people are seriously armed, as we are made to believe, there would have been much blood shed, with so much casualty on the police and army side. Police are cooking up stories to make us believe that these people are heavily armed and need to be dispose off because of ulterior motives.

Take the case of Bauchi, the BOKO HARAM story started in Bauchi and was cooked up by a staunch supporter of Governor Yuguda: Isah Ibrahim in Bauchi.

The Boko Haram people are technically the people that put Isah Yuguda in power in Bauchi. When he was chased out of PDP and move to ANPP, disgruntle people who are fed up with the way things are being done in Bauchi supported him, and the staunch supporters are those young, jobless and university drop outs. They put their life in the name of "a kasa, a tsare, a raka" meaning : "we vote, we protect the vote, we escorte the votes". After the election, Yuguda renegade on his promises. He became the worst than the previous governor. After defecting to PDP, sensing that these people can stop him, he started using his proxy islamic scholars, Isah Ibrahim is among them, to brand them with all dubious names.
2011! Please who is Isah Yugudah?
You're not serious about this are you?

Politics › Re: Boko Haram Suspected Financier Executed - Which Way Nigeria by Beaf: 8:59am On Aug 01, 2009
Something crazy is going on up North. Why these barbaric executions?
This has to be some sort of political war going on. It has to be political assasinations.

The foreign press and all human rights bodies are unto Nigeria again, just like in Abacha's time; yet this is supposed to be a democracy.
The North is better off forming their own country, this disgrace is too much.

BOMANY:
Most of the Christian commentators did not bother themselves to search about the truth behind what happened truly up there. They just surrendered completely to the ugliest hatred feelings. They did not talk about that group as criminals or terrorists for what they perpetuated rather they preferred to condemn them only as muslims. Even they did not show interest about their HOMELAND Nigeria, all what concerned them is to insult Muslim in childhood manners
All their lies about love just vanished in less than a second as if one can love in one second and hate in the next one. A wise man said the heart that knows love does not know how to hate and the heart that is full of hatred does not know how to love.
I am neither Christian nor Muslim.
My grouse is, why does the North seem to regularly produce these murderous groups?
There has never ever been such a group from the South. The worst we have down there are Olumba, T.B. Joshua and white garment churches.
What love are you dreaming about? Every Northern fanatic wakes up to kill Southerner, the Northern govs worsen things with sharia. . . And you are asking about some sort of love? Damn!
Its almost like you think the North has no responsibilities or Southerners are disposable.

@ajanlekoko

You have to stop flogging this 'dead donkey' called  climatic factors. Actually there is no historical basis for it

First of all civilization and scientific in Europe emanated in the very benign mediterranean area(Greece and Italy).  Areas in northern Europe, until the middle ages were very backward scientificall, culturally and economically.  So harsh was their environment that they used to resort to robbery and plunder of the more advanced southern europe not to mention piracy on the seas.

Technological developments gradually spread northwards and enabled northern europeans to better cope with their harsher winters

Also the point we are making about countries like Brazil and India  is that they have a similar to climate to Nigeria(heat ,humidity, tropical rainstorms) yet they are at the forefront of new technological developments.
Exactly!
I really find these climate arguments diversionary, because we were beginning to look at ways to address the lack of support for science in africa.

Both these guys are intellectual, but strangely, ignored the picture of the Great Zimbabwe I posted earlier - an advanced civilisation in tropical Africa. I could post stuff about Meroe or the Dogon. Also, there wasn't much difference between Africa and Europe by the 16th and 17th centuries.
The truth is, the modern African lacks so much self confidence that we deny even the obvious positives about ourselves with the excuse that they were absent because of climate, religion or other reasons that fail to take the bull by the horns.

Sense? Okay, What I was trying to say from my above very little pidgin is that, President 'Yar Adua is not receiving credit from any Nairalander on tackling the terrorists that terrorized Arewa, why?
Yar Adua is a danger to the unity of the country. Was he not one of the governors that implemented sharia, thereby cutting the last bonds between South and North? Is he not the one that has employed goons to circulate fake and counterfeit PIB bills to the senate and government arms in a time of national trauma?
He tackled a self inflicted Arewa problem and doesn't need praise for silencing a man who would have exposed those in power that are using Islam, both as a class weapon against the Talakawa and Northern weapon against the South.

It is futile to tackle any of the listed items without a national conference. Everyone has to know their legal limit, rights and responsibilities before any meaningful positive steps can be taking.

Only a national conference will give a definition and framework to Nigeria.

An undefined country cannot tackle any of the following:
Unemployment
Uninterrupting Power Supply
Corruption
Education Unrest / Affordable Education for all
Social Amenities (Roads, Water)
Health Care Improvement / Regulation
Pollution
Industries / Currency Regulations
Injustice / Human Right
Agriculture
Communication
Oil/ Petroleum Challenges
Spending and FG / State deficit
