Mr Bellong, I have 4 heroes in my life namely my parents and grandparents. Aside from them my two oldest siblings have had a huge impact on me and my life in general. I want to give my kids everything these 6 people gave me and that is what your bolded statement captures.
It is a good thing to do. Parents should not only work on the "book brilliancy" of their children but also the "street intelligence".

I am trying to instill "these" street intelligence in my boy.... Though he is still very young but he is catching up... He sometimes act smarter than me.. cool But the experience of an elder person will most times thrash that of a young blood. wink cheesy

bro Google it and see for ur self currently the price is about $286,750 - $319,400. Do the mathematics.
The person that bought a vehicle worth about 62M wouldn't sweat dropping 30M.......

I hope it will be used where the machine will be happy with the roads she is treading on....

Welcome Mademoiselle...... The bolded is what will instill street intelligence in them....

Teach them the art of debate..... occasionally pitch the two against each other to discuss about a simple daily topic. The older may have an advantage but it will help the younger....

Teach them to always give reasons for their conclusion and also to evaluate reasons given by others to issues..

Don't stereotype their lives, let them have the ability to question norms. Explain to them always why things are done in a certain way not just for them to accept whatever they are told as the norm. This will encourage them to question things and subject to logical thinking.

Encourage them to ask questions and you as the mother can ask them questions also to stimulate their thinking. Make sure you answer all their questions in a simple and honest manner. Don't call Pen.is uncle john or vagi.na prismatic hole...... cheesy

For every answer or solution, ask them to think about an alternative solution not just the conventional solution.

Don't confine critical thinking to purely factual or academic matters, let them reason about ethical, moral and public policy issues. they can analyse a movie, game, event etc....

Encourage them to write.

Give them room to play and explore their environment.........

Siena, i'm strongly guessing your not in Nigeria from some posts on an Audi thread, and i have seen a few ads online.... ebay and a few other car sale sites and the prices on the ride is HUGE, but aside that, i was told that importation of cars older than 15yrs into the country was not permitted by Nigerian customs services and seeing that production ended in 1995, i was left to hope to find at least one in Nigeria.
Thanks though, i appreciate.
If he can get it for you, don't hesitate to bring in the "beast". You can apply for a waiver with custom to bring in over-age vehicle.

Nobody will deny the right to bring in such a potential road weapon.... cheesy

Many of our men/husbands really wants to flaunts their domineering attitude, thus making unneccessary complain/condemnation every now and then.
They always seems to know better thus affecting their sense of appreciation even when when the woman does something good.

Why is it so easy for men to condemn women and find it so dificult to appreciate their good deeds?
Madam speak for your husband only and not all men. I guess nobody made you the PRO for all men.

Are u taking the kids to your MIL so you could hustle or just to spite your hubby? If it's the former, nothing wrong with it, per say but if it's the latter, not a good idea.

Marriage is partnership. When one partner is weak or petty, the other stays strong and steers the ship. You can keep the kids with your MIL, go to Abuja, sort out issues with your hubby then you both plan and work on the way forward. You need a job, asap, same for him.

I assume you are still interested in the marriage, if otherwise then disregard my post.

The easiest way for you to get over it is to summon the courage and ask her out.

When she either accept or slap you out of your dream, you will regain your sanity.

Goodluck in your quest

Herzumpther:
Thank you so much. My dad believes that those from Lagos are like what you mentioned above. I love and respect my dad so much that I don't see myself going against him...as a matter of fact, I've NEVER disobeyed him before and I don't plan to. Even tho I'm his favorite , he makes it clear to me daily that I should remove my mind from the Yoruba's. I've gone totally silent on the ish and that was why I ran away on valentines day because I know what's on ground and for now can't lead olalekan on. Since Saturday I've refused to pick his call because I don't know what to say. Telling him to visit my dad.....I don't know if it will be a wise thing to do or if dad will pick offence stating that I know his stand already and I still allowed him to come. I don't know if I should just give everything space and maybe bring it up later. As strong hearted as I might make my dad look here he is very fragile and emotional. My dad is standing strong on this and that is really confusing me because any ish he stands strong takes the grace of God or his father to make him change his mind......I tire o.
He is standing strong because he has never met him and he still sees whoever he is as one of the bad guys.

Don't let him go to see him now, let things calm down first.

Call your guy and arrange a place to talk about it. Explain the situation to him and if he is the good guy you think, he will be patient with you till your dad finally succumb. Your mum will be helpful in this situation.

Don't rush things and it will soon become a story.

NB: Your dad wouldn't be convinced in a day and easily. It will take time, patience, firmness and consistency.

I'm a christain...
You made a decision to stop pre-marital sex probably to devote more time for God and get closer to Him. Your prayers have been answered and you are jittery on why you are not having appetite for sin anymore...

When you marry, your vibes will be back for your husband.
Family › Re: Babyosisi's Marital Advice To New And Intended Wives by bellong: 4:12pm On Feb 17, 2015

I read your "tribal" story and I must tell you that yours is not a peculiar case. Fathers that are overprotective of their daughters always believe they know it all even when they are going astray making bad choices for their daughter.

The guy (Olalekan) is the person that will prove himself to your dad. He needs to pay a visit to your dad, get to talk to him and allay his fear of tomorrow. My father in law has same reservation about Lagosians, despite that he is Yoruba. He believes Lagosians are not straight-forward, insincere and care less about their wives. I got close to him, convinced him of my good intention for his daughter. With time, he gave his blessings. I am sure today, he does thank God for not pushing me away cheesy ...

Let the guy get to meet your dad first, then talk to your dad's friends to render you support.

Don't go violent against your dad, you will only compound the problem.
