Family › Re: Are You Enjoying Your Marriage? by bellong: 11:24am On Oct 03, 2013
kofsy: I just feel like asking this question from married folks cos these days, marriage scares the hell out of me. From stories about infidelity, physical/emotional abuse to incompatibility and family issues. I'm starting to feel it doesn't worth it. That institution called marriage looks overrated to me.

If you are married and you are reading this, in sincerity, are you enjoying your marriage? Do you think you'd pick the same partner if given the chance to start over. Are there lessons you feel unmarried folks should learn from your experience?
Why not start by reading and listening to good stories.... There are millions of successful marriages across the world, you only chose to listen to the bad ones.
We are what we listen to or attract. Change your perception, read good books, undertake a personal study of people who are in a successful and blissful union, then you will have good stories to share.

The creator of marriage knew we wouldn't be complete without it. Yes, it's one of the best gifts we can get from Him. Bad marriages are results of failures of the parties involved beginning from when they were still singles till they got married.

Between, you expect people to come here and tell you that their marriages are hell? Really!!!!!! huh huh huh huh

^^^ Real and lower cadre people take cases to court to get favourable judgement in their favour if their lawyer can prove their case beyond reasonable doubt. The only thing I can't determine is the time lapse of the case. This depends on the judge. Some judge are just so lazy that they can frustrate all parties in a case with their unending adjournment.

While I was an undergraduate, I had the opportunity to take OAU and WAEC to court which I won but the judge who handled the case is one of the laziest judges I ever came across.... It took about 2 and half years to finish a case filed on "motion exparte".

The advice given him to file a case against them is because the school may not be ready to go through the stress of appearing in court over the matter, they may decide to pay him and ask him to withdraw the case. In the long run, the cost on the school will be more than just settling the man.
Family › Re: How Do I Know Which Man To Say 'yes' To ? by bellong: 7:40am On Oct 03, 2013
jonaji: How do I know which man to say 'yes' to?

2. He must have a Pastor over him.

It is not enough for him to be a church attendee.Who is his pastor? How committed is he? How accountable is he to spiritual authority? Does he place the things of God first place in his life? Is he spiritually hungry for God? Does he protect the integrity of God's Word?
When he has a relationship with his pastor, there is a tendency that he will be mentored.
I tend to disagree with number 2. Where in the bible is it written, one must have a pastor over him before a lady says yes to him?
The best mentoring a christian can get is from the Holy spirit. How will having a pastor over him make him to be spiritually hungry for God and things of God? spiritual activities and church services do not equate to spiritual growth..... His accountability to authorities, irrespective of religion, is enough to give you an idea of his submission.

I am not against people having a relationship with their pastor but that should not be a criterion for which a lady will say yes/no to a relationship. It is outrightly misleading. In this age of money, position and influence hungry pastors will I be advising somebody to say yes because someone has a relationship with his pastor.

This number 2 is pure religion BS..

Royal Roy: Thanks Bellong!!!

Being a DIY kinda guy can be challenging sometimes!

But then, we've been brought up not to depend on others to do things for us.

My Dad will always say, if you want things done right, do it yourself.

But now, doing everything yourself can make you tired mentally & physically.

Maybe its finally time to get that Wifey P.A
tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue
It is a good thing to imbibe. However, there are times you can't DIY, delegation comes very useful at that point with supervision of course

Por-nography only present a false information of the real act.

Pls, sack that lawyer of yours and employ a competent one. If he knows his job, you shouldn't be here asking for advice.

The best to do now is to file a case against the school as noted by the previous poster. Claim all damages and cost of the suit. They will probably ask to settle out of court and pay you.

I hope you have enough documentary evidences establishing the contract.

My dream for Nigeria is to see a country that works in my life time.

My children will grow up to be proud of their heritage and country....

My children will grow up not understanding what it means to shout up NEPA....

A system that cares in sincerity and in truth about the downtrodden and less priviledged in the society..

A system where everything works...

An equal and egalitarian society........

A country where people will not be religious but godly, expressing love without dissimulation.....

Nigeria of my dream......

Happy Independence day to all....... ..

She should be calm and not fidget. Let her send a text of to apologise for her action since the guy always apologise when he slaps her too..

When this is over, I trust that the guy will think "thrice" before raising his hand to slap her. SOmetimes, desperate problem requires desperate solutions...

I do not support violence of any kind but if the guy were to be my brother, I will pitch my tent in support of the lady's action.

If the hunter doesn't become the hunted, the initial hunted will end up becoming a forgotten prey.....

Tell your friend to cheer up, the guy will come back sober when his nerves are calmed. He never expected it, hence his storming out of the house.

Family › Re: When Your Fiancee Walks Out On You Always by bellong: 7:37am On Oct 01, 2013
tpm1078: Then when i returned, i pleaded with my fiancee not to wake me up to answer peoples calls whenever i am resting from the night work of the previous day. This i told her disturbs my rest which i always want to have before hurrying out for another night duty. To my amazement, she screamed, telling me that i am being non responsive to the needs of people around me. I sat her down to let her know that even without me telling her, i expect her to help me ward off noise and disturbances when i am resting from the overnight job. But she couldn't even let me finish, and boom, off she walks out on me-AGAIN. I don't have any problem with human relations and i associate with others a lot. Any other day (that i am not on night shift) is an exception. I don't know how to always let her know how i feel about things without her misunderstanding the whole thing.
From the highlighted parts, I can deduce that your fiancee/wife has a good heart to help people in need but she has a temperamental problem. If this is the only short coming she has, I believe it can be worked upon using many methods. Walking out on people is a two-edged sword with advantages and disadvantages. As noted by other posters, some people can't withstand heat argument and the best way not to explode is to walk away.
However, walking out on people is lack of courtesy and demeaning. If you really wish to help her with this attitude, she first must acknowledge that she has a problem with it. When she acknowledges it is a problem, then solution is very near. Meanwhile, I wouldn't know how you sat her down to discuss the issue with her. Your handling of the situation may either escalate the problem or solve it. Adopt the right method.
When communications fail, resort to treat, let her understand that if she is not ready to change, you will rather part ways with her since you are yet to be married. This could also backfire depending on who she is, you know her well to know if to play this card. She may decide to pretend but her pretense can't last for too long when it comes to attitude. Though, the treat is only to make her see what you want her to see.

If all fail and you know you can't live with such attitude, then the time to leave is now to avoid story that touch in the future.

It is well with you and Happy Independence

Have you ever sat her down to register your displeasure of her action? If you have not done so, please express your grievances to her and let her understand how deeply it hurts you.

You can encourage her to work on that weakness. It is not just for you but for everyone. Wouldn't know if she does that to others too, if she does, she needs to work on herself to finding solution to such attitude.

If you are running alone, it would have been better. Please save the poor lady and children the stress of your adventures.

You never can tell how far they have gone with the case, your details may be at the border posts already to arrest you in case you plan fleeing. Since it is an office stuff, why not speak with a lawyer, go to your office in company of the lawyer. From the office, you all can go to the police for clarification.

You are sure it is an implication, stay and fight to win this case. Do not let your family be turned to fugitives overnight. I know there are situations one need to flee but this is none of them.

Never ever underrate the capabilities of the Nigerian Police, they may look irresponsible and ineffective but they can get to the root of any matter when they want to work. Need I remind you that INTERPOL was set up for situations like this.

You are innocent, get a lawyer and gain your freedom....
Thanks for the info bro, Hope I wont be told again that my international passport need to be 6 months old before applying for VISA, and as kmontee said we are still looking for other ideas on this
The issue of passport validity applies to all embassies. It was earlier explained here yet you people keep doubting the explanation given. The explanation given on the page where you read about passport validity is clear enough for you to start panicking. For emphasis and clarity sake, let me help you with the explanation again.

The validity as written by the embassy means that your passport must have minimum of 6 months left prior to its expiry date. For example, if your passport was issued on 22nd December 2008 and the expiry date is 21 December 2013, for this you have less than 6months validity prior to its expiry date. On the other hand, if for example your passport was issued on 2nd September, 2013, the expiry will probably be 1st September, 2018. On this one you have about 5yrs validity left so it is good to go.

In summary, the validity is not when it was issued but when it will expire. You count backwards. Hope nobody becomes jittery over this again.
