Family › Re: Are You Feeling Suicidal? Come Here First! (part 2) by bellong: 11:33am On Oct 18, 2013
Elxandre: I left for Ghana and started schooling there (I can say that was the best period of my life. I'm not an outgoing person though, but I loved that place).
I was studying my dream course (computer science).
I was suprised I was still intelligent though cos I was dealing with stuff I liked and knew (I could get an A in maths courses without even working hard. I never failed a course aside chinese and french grin which i came close to failing).
Well all of a sudden my mum had financial problems and I was in trouble cos my Dad is Irresponsible (I dont even know where he lives)
Well I couldnt write my 2nd year 1st sem exams.
And I had to come back home for christmas.
My mum then shocked me by saying I should switch to national Open univ. I was really bitter because of my emotional investment in the school (I put in all I had, studied wrote texts without course materials and even went thru hunger in that final semester).
Sorry for my long post, I hope you find my 'written from a samsung chat, poorly edited post worthy of your read' tongue grin
When did you leave Ghana for NOUN? Is there hope for you going back to continue from where you stopped? How much is the fees?
What skills do you have that can sell?
Family › Re: For Abused Wives, Girlfriends & Men!!! by bellong: 11:27am On Oct 18, 2013
francafrank: ok here's the story but i will leave out the names and few intimate details.

A woman has been married for 5 years she is aged 30 with a man of 37years. she says that initially she was frigid because the hussy wanted to have sex everyday infact thrice before day break. as the years went on she started enjoying the sex and they could spend a whole saturday indoors just cuddling, having sex in between meals. In the last year or so, he changed after a quarrel, even when she initiates sex hubby will verbally abuse her as LovePeddler. she thinks that even when he eventualy does have sex which is once in three months he lasts only about 3mins and she does not reach orgasm. She thinks he is deliberate in his actions since he knows that she enjoys the sex and wants to quit the marraige.

Initially she thought he had a problem and suggested that they see a doctor which he refused. She says because she does not have enough sex she thinks about it all day long and she does not want to have extramatrimonial affairs. She is an emotional wreck and needs to opt ou.
Is there a way she can get to the root of the bolded. Obviously, the man still has some unresolved scores to settle with her and the only way he thinks he can get at her is through sex. The quarrel may have re-ignited him of her own initially frigidity when they started, he sees it as the pay back time.
I do not support his action but it is a way of revenge for the man. Let them both resolve the root of that quarrel and other hidden issues, things will change.

Icherishu: I don't know what I will tell her for her to listen. When she was considering the second baby, I told her to put in on hold but she said she wants to have all her children now.
Please ask her reason why she wants more than 2 children and also of what importance is her bringing innocent children to a loveless marriage. Let her explain to you her idea of raising an healthy and responsible kids maybe we will have an idea of why she keeps dropping them.

Is she affiliated with any religious sect/faith?

How old are you?

Do you have a job that caters for your personal needs?

Aside from the problem with your uncle's wife, do you have a good relationship with your uncle?

How about your parents?

How do you intend paying the subsequent rent when this expires?

How is your relationship with your uncle's wife like?

francafrank: Read this please and reply on the basis of fact, experience or measurable quality.

Is it an abuse for a wife/girlfriend/ man/hussy/boyfrend to be denied good, pleasurable quality sex?
i got this question during counseling and i was lost for a suitable reply. could you help?
You need to be explicit on the question. Denied in what sense? Completely ignored or just doing it to satisfy all righteousness. I think only a wife/husband has legal right to pleasurable quality sex.
Could you give more explanation of your question.

Elxandre: am i sucidal? undecided
maybe..
can this thread do anything than mere feel good talks? undecided
i dont think so tongue
The first step to becoming free from suicidal thoughts is to receive encouraging and soul lifting words. Do not under-estimate the power in the tongue.

Most people who came here did not just get a feel good statements but also practical solutions to their plight for those who shared their challenges.

Bring it on bro, your miracle awaits you....

Phema: I hope and pray they re-open the portal, but what happens if it isn't re-opened after we have give made the contributions? Just being practical here.
funkybaby: @phema
Please how much are you donating so we all can know what's left to raise. Thanks. Hopefully, someone else will be happy to help the OP with the balance. I understand why you want to remain annoymous. I also hate the fact that I'm revealing how much I'm donating but in this case one is left with little or no choice.

Phema: @Bellong, Please can u inform the house when the portal is open?

@Ifyalways, Nice job. Welcome! Please send his account details to phemahema@yahoo.com. Will make an anonymous deposit immediately Bellong confirms the re opening of the portal.
I guess it is better he has the money before the portal is opened because it may not last long before it is closed. Considering you will send the money to Ify, Ify in turn will also send to him. It may get closed before the money get to him.

I suggest that all the contributions be kept with Ify and she can release it immediately the portal is opened.
Family › Re: Help A Nairalander Achieve His Educational Dreams by bellong: 4:41pm On Oct 13, 2013
While we are making every efforts to plead with the university in re-opening the portal, I hope his fees can be completed ahead of time when the school will have a change of mind.

The VC is back and he is presently adamant to re-opening it. He said, he had initially re-opened it for a month after the first deadline. The hope I believe the OP has now is that the younger brother of the Speaker to the Kwara state house of assembly is also affected because the guy was not around during the payment period. I know the VC will succumb to pressures from all sides to re-open the portal. It may be just for only one-two days.

The big hurdle for the OP is in raising the money so as not to lose out when it is eventually re-opened.

Your fiance should be able to tell you why. According to your post, you said you had an argument and he called his parents before they ask for postponement. Why are you blaming the parents for what their son did?

eyitayoemmanuel: Thanks everyone for your comment. My fear is that once a man cannot provide for his family, he gets frustrated at every small issue. Dont want my case ending like the guy who butchered his wife over a similar issue cos my husband is beginning to get frustrated cos I complain more these days. At times he feels bad about the whole situation but I think he's just pretending otherwise he would have done something about it.
Your husband's case is entirely different. If he gets frustrated, his frustration should be directed at his laziness. Your description did not show a man putting in efforts to make ends meet but one who is lazy and not ready to do anything. So stop lamenting, do the right thing by not feeding his laziness...

More ororo to your elbow sister. God is in control and your miracle is on the way. Love is patient and kind,it does not keep record of evil. A virtuous woman provides for her family, covers her husband with wool and anoints his feet with sweet scented oil.

Patience was patient and that was why Goodluck lead her to Aso rock. Are you ready to enter your own Zion rock sister? Tarry,I say! Tarry and do not grumble.

It is well.

Sister, christianity does not stop us from doing what is necessary and right. Infact, it strengthens us to do the right thing. Bible says, a man that cannot provide for his household is worse than an infidel. Suffice it to say that you are an accomplice in his laziness.

The solution is simple and straightforward. Though he will shout and make noise but you must stand your ground. He that does not work should not eat. Go to your bank, tell them to disable your ATM since he knows your salary, opening a secret account may not do. Once he can't withdraw from the ATM, tell him you can't continue to feed his lazy layabouts...

Worst case scenario if you can't do the above, open an account for him and transfer what you can afford monthly to the account. If he finishes it in a day, its his problem. Put him on a monthly stipend if that is what he wants...

But if you really want him to be delivered from laziness, block all avenues and access he has to your money and stand your ground in not giving a dime. Marriage is a symbiotic relationship and not parasitic.

ifyalways: Sounds serious and bad for the OP.
So he still risks an extra year if this portal is not re-opened? Gosh.

May God intervene oh.
Amen, we will try our best to see that his payment is accepted. Only hope he can get the full amount because I know if they eventually decide to open the portal, it won't last beyond two days.. We are awaiting the arrival of the VC from his trip.

Meanwhile, I have confirmed his studentship and status for the details and information he supplied to me. He has three carry-overs to retake. Two in the harmattan semester and one in the rain semester.

I wonder why ASUU with all their agitations is yet to give summer school a thought. Summer school is one of the ways to generate good money for the universities. Students with extras can do this without wasting their precious years in school. We still have a long way to go.
