Romance › Re: Why Are Some Ladies Fond Of Doing This? by Bellotelli: 11:19am On Jan 17, 2024 |
Iyke1998: On my way home this night, I noticed i hadn't eaten food today,so I stopped at one aboki shop by the road side,so I could just get pasta that I'll quickly make when I get home.
On getting there,I met a young pretty lady who coincidentally wanted to buy the same thing with me.
I initiated a conversation with her by asking her which of the tomato paste was the best, with a bright smile, she said she prefers De rica.. I then joking told her that since we're both buying the same thing,is it not better I return mine, then follow her to her house to eat hers? She gave a bright smile and jokingly replied that she'll report me to her husband oo.. I said ok o,I withdraw my request.
When she was done buying her stuffs, I then told her that I would have loved to pay for her o, but I don't want her to report me to her husband. She quickly replied, No o,you can pay for me ,my husband won't be angry, that one those not matter na. I refused, I told her that I don't want any problem with her husband oo,I then paid for my things then went away..
Why are some ladies like this? Westin be ur own ? You were the initiator of the conversation, and now you are complaining over what you started. Almost everyone, irrespective of gender likes free stuff as far as it doesn't affect them negatively. |

Politics › Re: Whose Responsibility Is It To Replace Broken-Down Electricity Transformers? by Bellotelli: 7:29am On Jan 16, 2024 |
nairalanda1: Ideally, it is the job of the local DISCO, not the job of PHCN. PHCN does not exist. Discos and gencos and TCN have replaced it.
But as to why consumers contribute...this one is easy.
Nigerians are not paying cost reflective tarrifs for electricity. Additionally, over 30% of us do not pay for the power we use.(If you think I am lying...google for the PwC report Solving the Liquidity crunch in the power sector).
As a result, your local DISCO is owing money, and at least 3 of them have been taken over by the banks. Up till today...many of our DISCOS have not broken even. THREE of them, and I mean three of them, have been taken over by their creditors, one has been taken over defacto by the government.
Why...because Nigerians do not want to pay their power bills at market price. We think we must have power for free.
Meanwhile, GSM companies, if the antenna spoil, dem go replace am. Your local provision store owner, if he runs out of milk today, he will replace it within a few hours, if not tomorrow latest....because they are allowed to do something the power sector is not allowed to do. Sell at market price.
This is the result of not letting DISCO set prices.....you will be asked to contribute for your generator.
I went to a private school for primary school, and then for secondary school, na government school I go. My school fees in the primary school were at one point three times what I eventually was paying in the government secondary school I went to....yet in the primary school, in over 6 years of being there it was two times I bought exercise book for myself...the second time, because the supplier was late, and I was advised to buy a book...anyway, normal service was resumed in a few days.
When I entered secondary school, I was paying cheap school fees. Guess what......in my six years there I was buying all my exercise books and stationeries and textbooks while there. Something that in my private primary school..they were issuing us textbook.
Let us all pay a cost reflective tarrif.......and you will see your disco provide you with high quality transformer that would last 300 years. Not this one where we pretend power is cheap, and where in some areas half the population thinks it is free of charge. Ok o. You have a point. But what you've failed to factor in is the role of our government to ensure that the minimum income of workers both in private and public sector can match up. |

SmartProf: Rubbish...A thief is not to be exempted from facing the law just because he uses his proceeds from theft for charity. Selective justice isn't right for any society built on strong norms and value system. There are a thousand Nigerians who can still do that brilliant job you are praising him for and still keep their public service integrity unscathed. Get your fact right before you start spewing rubbish. How is he a thief? Did his company execute the contract or not? Did they follow the due process in bidding? You guys shouldn't be too quick to condemn people because they are politicians. |

Jewessgratitud3: Considering the harsh economic conditions, if you happen to marry today, how many children will you have knowing the current administration is still going to last for the another four years. Will you plan the number of children you're having around the tenure or are you going to just have them as they come with hope for a better economy in the future?
This also applies to the newly married who just had one. How far? Una wan go for second one in this regime? Why?
Im not talking now based on your current financial status. Just looking at the economy, which would you go for A or B?
Share your sincere thoughts on this.
Let me set the ball rolling. If I happen to marry today, hubby and I will have to reach a solid agreement to have only one child for now then wait and see what happens after four years to decide if we are having more or closing shop. . This is my honest opinion. I don't think I'll exceed 4 |

Politics › Re: N438m Scandal: I Am A Shareholder Not Director Of The Company - Tunji-Ojo by Bellotelli: 7:39am On Jan 09, 2024 |
seunmsg: The part in bold is not allowed because it brings conflict of interest. The permanent Secretary is the chairman of the ministry’s tenders board so if a company he’s a shareholder of bids for contract in that same ministry, he will have to disclose it in line with public procurement act and recuse himself as the chairman of the tenders board because of conflict of interest. Again, PS are civil servants who rise from service. They are ordinarily not expected to own companies even though they can buy shares in public limited liability companies.
Political office holders are elected or appointed. The law recognizes that they were doing something before their appointment or election so they simply require them to step aside from the management of whatever business they were doing before. The law does not require the business to die or stop operating because the founder is now a political office again.
Again, Peter Obi was a shareholder in Fidelity bank before becoming governor. He did not sell his shares in fidelity bank and the bank kept doing business with Anambra state government throughout his tenure. He even brought in directors from the bank to serve as commissioners and later governor of the state. Atiku Abubakar was the largest shareholder in Intels in 1999. When he was elected as Vice President, Atiku did not sell his shares at Intels and the company worked for Federal government for the 8 years that Atiku was the vice president. So, what’s all the noise this time around? Did foreigners laugh at us when Peter Obi was investing state funds in family business?
Finally, the company in question is a legal entity distinct from the minister. The minister is the minister for interior and not the minister for humanitarian affairs. The minister for interior is not involved whatsoever in the procurement process of ministry of humanitarian affairs so there is no conflict of interest whatsoever. The company has the right to exist and do business legally with government agencies under the public procurement act in as much as no conflict of interest is involved in the process. If anybody still argues this submission then they should be left alone to wallow in ignorance. |

seunmsg: You read clearly where he said he resigned five years ago and you’re still asking this silly question. He even brought the company resulting endorsing his resignation and the certified true copy of his CAC document accepting his removal as director of the company since 2019 to the program. So, what else are you looking for? Oga leave these people. They must look for any excuse to bring good people down. |
Politics › Re: N438m Scandal: I Am A Shareholder Not Director Of The Company - Tunji-Ojo by Bellotelli: 7:29am On Jan 09, 2024 |
DeLaRue: A company you founded and in which you continue to be shareholder secured a huge contract from another ministry in the same Government in which you are currently serving as a minister
And your defense is ... oh, but I am no longer a Director of the company, I am only a shareholder
As a shareholder, you are a beneficiary of the contract. That is the koko. Whether or not you're a director is irrelevant. This is not allowed anywhere, exceptmay be Nigeria. It is a straight forward sacking offence.
Is the Minister saying that if he finds that the permanent secretary in his ministry got a large contract from the ministry through a company the PS owns with perhaps his wife, the Minister will say, ah well, since the PS is only a shareholder and not a director, everything is fine?
Foreign observers must be laughing their heads off at this, or more appropriately shaking their heads in disgust at the level of insane corruption in Nigeria.
Has the Minister never had of conflict of interest and abuse of office.
And how on earth can he say he was not aware the company bid for the contract. He must think Nigerians are fools.
If this matter is investigated properly, and the government is truly serious, this man will be gone with Ms Edu and the other lady. No ifs, no buts. So what you are saying is that every public office holder should compel every companies they have shares with not to bid for government contracts? If your answer is yes, then you should relocate to another planet. |
