i dont know what to say about Babyosisi, Can somebody help me out, please? ![]() |
May Almighty Allah Forgive our sins and Answer our prayers this new year and beyond. Amen. Happy New Islamic Year to you all. |
Dr Havila, you either didnt get my point or you did but choose to go on with your arrogant and insultive replies. My experience in the hood and later in life is not about the person of those folks but its about the christianity in them as it is to be practiced. And the loads of articles in Mathew, Mark and Luke does not make sense to me if i didnt get to see it in action. Those are the rethorics we hear everyday from Adeboye, Adefarasin, Oyakhilome, Okotie and the rest of them. i seldom miss their TV programes on Trinity TV. If you want to know how i feel about christians. i will tell you in my University days too, both my Degree and at post graduate school, either by accident or by design, i found myself hanging out with christians almost 80% of my time. We play ball together, we watch our favourite Arsenal FC together and sometimes even partied together. i only leave them to go and say my prayers. I think there are really some nice christians out there and even on this forum. Sometimes i feel all of you here are good. My Boss in the office is probably the nicest christian i ve ever met. And wait for this, my neighbour here in Abuja was a Deeper Life Pastor, I sincerely believe he was the best neighbour i ever had all my life, one of the nicest people to ever live. He died last year. I will forever assist his family in whatever way i can. But that is not the point. Christianity and Islam both has their reverred ethical books which we all choose to quote sparringly to stress some points in tango with our attitudes. We all have our places of Worships and we all believe in the best ethical standards. However, while we Pray 5 times a day to save our skin from the embers of hell and to distract us from the worldly sins, i don't know what i would have done alternatively as a christian. We fast 30 days in ramadan and other voluntary fasts, we gave out zakkat from our properties, we stay away from alcoholic drinks and other unsavoury stuffs. We dress decently and encourage others to do so. We basically epithomises discipline and candour. I mean we are all humans but there are things we do in line with the teachings of our religions that stand us out. But i believe christianity is all about " For all have sins and come short of the glory of God, Repent, the Kingdom of God is at hand, Shout Alleluyah, For God so love the world, " on and on and on. I am not talking about The Bad christians here, like the Murderers, Rapists, Drug addicts, Terrorists and the rest as you always pick those out to describe muslims in your posts. Right now i am a decently upright man and if i decide to be a christian (Wa iyazu billah), what other routine will i add up to my life if not to shake off my islamic duties? that doesnt sound appealing to me. There's got to be more to christianity than acceptance and quotations. Thats exactly what am looking for. I expect you to come up with some usual verses about faith and devotions and nothing else. or correct me on this. |
Honestly, i almost always resisted the temptation to ignore you guys. The speed at which you completely overturn a very simple analogy beat my imagination. How can you juxtapose the concept of freewill and ethical codes and arrive at such a conclusion? Islamic conducts are codified and you are free to choosed to either obey them or not, just like we now have a lady called Shahan and her critical siblings. You dont have to be a muslim if you like. Freewill here extend to all humans and Jinns (who you dont seem to know they live on earth with us). I also dont know what is confusing about worship on earth and Reward in heaven. But let me confirm your speculation about my little background. i was born and bred in the heart of caliphate, Sokoto, moved to Abuja a couple of years back. When i was a kid i noticed that we do all the fastings and daily prayers in the mosque, while our christian neighbours relax with some cool bottle of beers playing scrabble and monopoly. They go to churches on sundays to have fun, singing and dancing. I looked around and saw lot of christian prostitutes called "okoto" all over the town. I now begin to understand the concept of Freewill. That was entirely my childhood perception based on my early experience. When a kid doesnt pray or fast, we say he is becoming a christians who doesnt do any act of worship. I grew up remembering those historical pictures, but then up to my adulthood i havent seen much differences except new grammers and plenty rethorics. However, last year when my little nieces came from the states for holiday. Their dad is my blood brother but their mum an American. They came to see me in my office and jokingly i told the elderly sister that i think they should talk to their mum about Islam so that she may see the light and not die as a christian and end up in hell. the kid shocked me when she said "uncle why do you think she will accept that because she probably feel the same way about us too". That was the beginning of my quest about what the christians think they are doing. So all these while christians thinks they are also worshipping God. That is exactly what am getting to hear everyday on nairaland. But what exactly is the Act of Worship apart from too much noise and over-enthusiasm? I think my little niece is right. But the Christians are dead wrong. |
Welldone sister. |
how i wish we keep to the title of this thread. there are some peeps that really pissed me off ( or just about to) ![]() |
Good Lord. Shahan, i never knew you are malik sister but how did i missed that? i guess the whole family are now teaming up to hit out on me. ![]() On a serious note, however, i think you are a real nice person. Keep it up. Sometimes i think Babyosisi is nice too but i just couldnt substantiate it. ![]() |
David, i think i do. But thats a matter for another day |
mr pataki i can see why catholic priest who are suppose to be celibates are mostly gay. And i think you are wrong about me too. Sex is just an issue most of you use against Islam. you always pick it out among a million other points of discussion. |
Mr Genial, Worship is service with all sincerity. I dont know if its hard or soft, all i know is we have diferent perception of worship but probably we all do believe in God and the need to obey Him. |
Shahan, my points are very clear, you only choosed to read them upside down. Muslims worship God on earth and get their rewards in heaven. Both Jinns and Humans. If you dont like the mix of the reward thats strictly your own opinion. And i think God deserve more respect from you. |
With due respect Shahan, i ve come to realised that there are just too many slogans in christianity and its like a good christian need to be some kind of an orator. Its either salvation, sin of the heart, carnal issues, or saviour of sort. The whole issues are shrouded in some kind complex dogma. All i am saying is that we are bound by the truth and we shall all first of all be sincere about ourselves. lets discard all these sweet fantacies about christ being this or being that, what about us? what are we? We were all born humans before decided to go on our respective ego rides and critical evaluation of others who feel or think differently from us. The point is there is a God somewhere that we should all worship delligently and with all sincerity. |
Havila, what are you saying? Oh yeah Islam is a complete way of life and a culture for everything. If you are just knowing this, its quite unfortunate. It shows you never knew Islam at all. you only come here to make noise and rubbish people as if appointed by someone. And please stop all these personal condemnation and restrict yourself to the issue on board. It doesnt make you anything. |
Hey, why the over excitement? anyway, we were told about you all in the holy book, that when a preacher comes to them they will just ridicule him and make jest of him, but surely one day we shall all account for our actions. The issue of worship in Islam is very clear. The lord said " La Khalaqatal Jinnu wal Insu Illa Li ya a budun". The Jinns and Humans were not created for anything but to Worship Allah. Life on earth is about worship and infidelity. You ve got the right to choose what you want, you ve got freewill. If you choose to serve God on earth, you shall be rewarded with Heaven in the hereafter and you choose to be infidel and follow the desire of your flesh you shall also meet your punishment in the Hell fire (Jahannama). The Lord said "Wa man ya amal mis qala zarratin khairan yara hu, wa man ya amal mis qala zarratin sharran yarahu." The Angels of God were created for a life of service to the Lord. And the Lord doesnt need all these indulgence that makes you go wild. The Lord is above all things. |
Shahan, that was palatable. i was stretching out my hands for a hug. ![]() I understand your points. But The Holy Prophet SAW, mean so much to so many different people. Its all a matter of personal conviction. Christians and Muslims are at the two extreme poles of passion for the man. Unlike how we muslims loves Jesus and his mother Mary, Christian never even want to understand the real issues about the rasul. Islam as a word means peace and as a religion means a complete submission to the will of the almighty. The Holy Quran is the Guidance, the Hadith and Sunna are examples. The whole aim is for us to be the best human being we can be. Loving, Caring, Trustworthy, Honest, Disciplined, etc. If you listen to negative remarks concocted by enemies of islam without properly searching for the truth you may never understand Islam. And i wish you do. |
Havila, am getting used to your domineering and egocentric postulations. However, always quote me correctly and never infer to what i never said. Having said this, i also know your stand totally against Islam and sometimes even harshly. That never take away anything from it. with millions of people like you the world over, Insha Allahu Islam shall flourish and The Truth shall prevail. So dont think you are making negative impact by always being so loud on nairaland while we choose to show some civility. |
I understand Baby, Thanks. I know me and you no longer fight. we ve grown up. ![]() |
Oh yeah, Trinidad girl. But i always read some of the versions of the Bible that comes handy. Islam specifically directed us to believe in Injeel, The original bible. It is a holy book recognised by Islam as given to the holy prophet Eesa (Jesus) Alayhis salam. Insha Allah, the truth shall prevail one day. Thank you for your understanding. |
Am not sure about the Islamic stand on it but i know its a very common practice even during the hajj. But i shall find out, Insha Allah. |
Trinidad girl, somehow i am impressed by your post. you ve spoken nicely. But i can tell you there is no gay Imam but there can be gay muslims. The punishment in islam is stonning to death. However, the truth is Islam may surely appeal to you if you truly understand what it is and not what they say or think it is. I advice you read the books yourself and dont let no one do it for you. |
Baby, who is a carnal man? how did you come about that phrase? |
David, its now obvious that our description of Heaven is different with yours. Its because we belongs to different religions. Its because we believe in Quran, while you lean on the much tampered bible. In Islam there is no worship in heaven and these semblance of luxurious life you mention is not even close to what abound in paradise. Thats why you have all the fun on earth while we remain steadfast in worship, for in the hereafter its about those who persevere and unwaivered in their worship of the almighty God. |
Can you see how you can get cowed in by any critical posting. You d rather have mukina alone here to toy with than any one coming in who seem a little less friendly. You are even doubting the anatomical configuration of the person. May be you think a lady cant be so sharp. You guys just hate Islam but why? |
You ve got that wrong again. Despite all we ve said about haeven, you almost always prefer to pick on sex. but why? i think indirectly you like to talk about it. You ve never said a word about nice food, beautiful wines and beautiful houses and gardens, you just keep on hitting on sex, sex, sex. And quite unfortunately , you are even about to draw a conclusion on that basis. Can you see how you minds work? So lady, you can believe what you want to believe, just go ahead. and remember it says a lot about you too |
There you go again Baby, Words. Its only words ( ) |
You see Shahan, my point is; whenever we argue here, there is always this tendency to attack our Holy Prophet (SAW), not because its in line with the arguement no, just because it pleases you guys to do so. As i was referring to your conversion to christian, you promptly responded with an attack to our very sensitive area. Cant we talk at our own level without mentioning of the Rasul? |
Unfortunately Shahan, Yes, Heaven is a place for absolute enjoyment. |
Welcome Trinidad girl, By your posting you are basically equating christianity with righteousness. The fact that we now have gay priests exposes the moral state and legitimacy of christian leaders. Anyway, from your point of view we now have a glimpse of the real confusion confronting an average christian. Islam on the other hand, its a complete way of life, it has a culture of communication, of lifestyle, of appearance, of sleeping, of Sex ( ), of eating and even of shaking hands. It always provide for the most modest and most respectful way of living. However, there is a difference between Islam and a muslim. If a muslim chooses to behave as he wishes that has nothing to do with Islam. Its essentially about that person. But we can not have gay Imams in Islam. thats not possible. Here is where the difference lies. We have code of ethics that are compulsorily binding especially on religious leaders. |
. You have started a familiar tune. Arguement now is essentially baseless. we will just carry on in a vicious circle |
mr pataki, the title of the thread and the very first post should provide answer to your question. David, the emphasis on sex was created by you guys to ridicule the whole essence of our arguements. i choose to go along with you as a response to issues raised. But we all know that Heaven is much more than just sex. But then sex is an essential part of our life and we cant shy away from it. Heaven is about abundance and affluence. Its about having everything you ever wish for. Its about wining, dining and rollicking. Its the ultimate state of happinness. |
I dont know why you choose to reply me Shahan. i thought our various opinion were sought by the creator of the thread. That is my own opinion and i expect you to give yours. Let me explain to you what i mean. If today i decided to be a christian (wa iyazu billah). i only need to proclaim the popular quotes of accepting christ as lord and saviour, the rest is to eat and sleep and continue to be myself doing anything i feel like doing and renouncing the daily islamic acts of worships which incidently i dont have any now as a christian. Can you now see my point? |
David, i dont have any respect for bible but i do respect those who choose to lean on it. And you shahan if what you ve just said is the truth, am very disappointed. But i believe its basically a result of insufficient knowledge to be modest. i can only advice you to read and learn more about Islam and God and dont get carried away by the worldly temptations and negative propaganda about Islam. May Almighty Allah continue to guide all of us to the right path. Amen |
