Princedapace: Scrapping SARS can never solve the problem my brother.. The other day, a soldier killed a driver becus the drier didn't give bribe at a military check poi int. Many lecturers are sleeping with female students and sort courses a lot.. Many doctors are misbehaving, civil servants are so corrupt.. The govt is full of nepotism and bias recruitment, etc.. My point is, our call should be for us to fix this country, we need q better constitution, better system of govt.. We need to stop the influence national assembly has on recruitments, we need to make government unattractive..
We av seen many times how soldiers decended on innocent Nigerians and helpless Nigerians, should we now scrap the military? Civil servants are so corrupt, should be now scrap civil service? Lecturers mess female students, sort courses.. In fact, some lecturers come to class and brag on how u must sort them before u pass, should we now scrap lecturing? We just need get Nigeria right by fixing the system, a better constitution, better system of govt, etc. I get your point brother agreed the society is corrupt, but lectures, civil servants, soldiers are not robbing citizens with guns given to them by government for our protection. Dont you get it? This sars people are simply armed robbers and terrorist! They are murderers! Two years ago i had reason to frequent the lagos cp's office where sars is also located. I saw this so called police officers ie sars driving in and out with toyota sienna buses. This folks had earrings, wearing bathroom slippers. Its was as if the police went to oshodi motor park to recruit agberos and handed pistols and assault rifles to them. When they drive in with "criminals" in full public view they will share money. Do you know that every minute or so you hear gunshots and screams from their office. I wondered if the CP was not aware because he cannot claim not to have heard the gunshots. See unless you are a policeman or you have not experienced or seen these animals in action will you speak the way you are doing now. Do you know that most parents including myself around my area lock their teen male kids indoor now a days? Once i pick my 14 year old who is quite tall for his from school he does not step out until the next school day? just because of the SARS etc that are meant to protect us but rather a terror to citizens? What kind of life are we living for Gods sake! |
Crime › Re: #EndSARS: "We Drank Our Urine To Quench Thirst In SARS Cell"--SARS Victim by bendike: 4:11pm On Dec 18, 2017 |
Princedapace: I think u all are quite unfair to the police here.. Look at the countries u mentioned.. do they have the type of society we have here? Are their police not well paid, their police officers live fine while their politicians dont live extremely wealthy. Here, our leaders steal all the money and pay policemen poorly.
The countries u mention, their policemen have good life insurance, they are well kitted for operation, they have good equipment for operations. They are well protected but here, policemen live in dead barracks, they cant even afford to buy a decent car, they cant send their kids to good schools, they need to steal to live well. A SARS officer can be killed any day.. Each time they leave for work, it seems it is their last day. When they die, their families are abandoned. An average police man in nigeria can not build a house from a decent money, never.
Also, those countries u mentioned, unemployment is low compared to Nigeria.. they dont av crazy citizens who are unemployed and steal a lot. My brother, Nigeria police can not experience the Nigeria system and be acting like policemen in Finland or Norway who are experiencing advanced society and system. Did not read all your statement but from the few i could grab you said we are not being fair on the police and that they are being compared to those in Norway. Are you also implying that because the society is unbalanced we should tolerate the rubbish being perpetrated by the police? Oh because they are not well paid and could "die any time" in your words we should suffer? My point to you is that most citizens are under paid in this country. Not everyone is satisfied with their standard of living BUT does that give us the right to rob, maim and kill other citizens? If the police job is not good enough for you and the barracks is dilapidated then why don't you resign and find another job or get self employed? SEE, IF BUHARI AND HIS COHORTS REFUSE TO ADDRESS THIS PRESSING ISSUE I EXPECT THE YOUTHS OF THIS COUNTRY WHO THIS EFFECTS THE MOST TO SAY NO TO APC IN THE NEXT ELECTION! THIS SARS ISSUE MUST BE ADDRESSED! |

Hmm, twice i have seen something similar happen of recent. The people were not faking oh. The problem was hunger. They were given food complimented with cold coke. Healing occurred. When i remember my Nysc days posted to Aba in which N 1050 Nysc allowance/N 1000 salary from the school i was posted to was not paid for almost 2 months, the hunger i felt. I did not eat for almost 3 days because i had owed all the foodstuff sellers in the area.
It was as i was thinking i remembered a police officer i had heard while in lagos, was posted to the state (Abia). That was how i traced his office. I trekked a distance of over 5-6 km to get there only to be told his was not at work. I waited for 2 hrs before he came. He now told me he was expecting money and that i should come back to see him. I could not trek back but had to wait on the street under hot sun for another 4 hours before the officer gave me 2k. For the first time in my life i ate Fufu and guess what? without meat. The remaining change i used to run back to Lagos.
Since then i have never stood by and seeing someone hungry and not made an attempt to feed the person. |

Power: Again, Lagos sets the pace in IPP
Island Power Project.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/06/power-again-lagos-sets-the-pace-in-ipp/
You keep shouting streetlight, the electricity came from the power plants Fashola built and he lit many streetlights and state offices and institutions with the power and the useless ambode should be building more power plants to light up streets in ikorodu and other major cities in Lagos state.
The question you should be asking yourself if you really care about streetlights is if Fahola can build power plants for streetlights and other state institutions in Lagos state in his first 2 years in office, why is ambode still busy with bust stops and silly LG projects after 2 years in office with N820 billion/Twice Fashola's budget?
I won't even bother with the rest of your rubbish. What is your own with me? Are you sure you are not fashola writing? What is paining you with my opinion on ambode's government and its positive effect on me? Must i agree with your opinion? I think you are quite stupid, rude, uncultured and uncomprehending. Politics › Re: Ambode Commissions Multiple Lay-by, Slip Road In Ketu by bendike: 10:03pm On Nov 12, 2017 |
deomelo: Obviously, many of you don't know Lagos state and your idea of governance is just shallow and primitive.
1. There's more to managing a state like Lagos state with huge budgets than streetlight, even useless Fayose in ekiti is doing streetlight so what's so special about streetlight?.
2. The power they are powering the street lights cam from where? From the 5 power plants Fashola built and Fashola himself did more streetlighting than any governor in Nigeria.
3. Lagos as state is too congested and can not keep up aggressive continuation with massive infrastructures from bridges, to water works, schools, hospitals, power, transportation, farming, institutional upgrades for efficient delivery. non of which this useless governor have done apart from bus stops and painting curbs.
3. State institutions are falling by the wayside, LAWMA is basically weakened and less efficient hence dirty and pollution returning to Lagos state, LASEPA is totally mute because noise and environmental pollution is returning.
4. The tens of projects Fashola left in different states of completion are still completed wile this joker busy himself with bust stops and motor park.
5. 4th MB is like totally off the table.
From Jakande to Fashola, they all had vision and they set their visionary projects in motion, but not this bus stop painting and LG project governor, he has ZERO vision and he's yet to come up with any visionary project.
..but let it be about party, owambe or celebration, he's the party prefect and MC.
What a waste of time. My idea of governance might be "shallow or primitive", Mr "Deep and Advanced". I have lived through the early seventies up till now and i insist that only the Jakande government and the ambode's has had any impact directly on me. That is my view. Simple things as i said earlier like the street light in my neighborhood powered by generators installed by lASG alone had woken up my area in the evenings. Egbeda, akowonjo axis to be precise. People live like human beings. You can stroll or walk your dog on the street safely at night. The businesses around are booming. There is improved security just by that simple act of installing the evening lights. See my truck broke down on Abeokuta expressway 11.30 pm. I went over there meet my driver safe. We were not attacked by area boys/ hoodlums because of how bright the place was. I placed a call to the Lagos state emergency number and they sent a tow truck to assist me take my vehicle to my base. I did not pay a dime and you know what? Their customer service called me weeks later to find out if i was attended to properly! There is always effort to maintain the major road i ply everyday. In fact it was resurfaced yesterday. You say the governor is building motor parks, bus stops etc. Is that not a good thing? Must we live like animals? Cant i park my car and use public transport if it is convenient? For the first time the Abeokuta expressway is being fixed with BRT lanes all the way to Oshodi, a brand new bridge had been constructed after Iya Ipaja to make a (hoped for) smooth journey all the way without traffic. See, You might not have felt the impact of this government but I HAVE. On a lighter note, the time is 10pm and i want to stroll out to get shawama. Something i could not do years back in Akowonjo. |
