There's no point continuing with this. I have clearly stated my premise. I still consider the French league a Farmer's league. I deal in relatives not absolutes. You keep mentioning how the French league has improved, how about the other leagues, en?We definitely have different points of view on what stardom is. Mine is based on the strength of the league. And No, it's not cos he's Nigerian, and stop assuming everyone comes up with opinions based on a race bias-Nigerian/ Non-Nigerian. I was expecting Ihenacho to hit stardom as well. i had high hopes for him and some other players, but he's been quite underwhelming, he's definitely far from it. And do not assume i don't think highly of our players. I do. If you have been following my posts i am actually inclined towards the invitation of home-grown players over their foreign-born counterparts. And rest assured we'll definitely revisit the issue. TheSuperNerd: Nothing like "May". He has reached Star level. That is the truth. Why are we afraid to say things as they are? B'cos he is Nigerian? You think he is undeserving of such tag? You think it would get to his head so we shouldn't call him what he already is?
Look, Osimhen is a star. Gonna be paid like a star and treated like a star at Napoli. He is gonna be Africa's most expensive signing ever. So yes, Mr Benji... He is a star already. It is Superstar status that eludes him for now.
And you can keep tagging the Ligue 1, a farmers league.. No problem. It's your opinion... and It doesn't affect the true standings of things today as regards how it is rated compared to four-five years ago.
And like I added a little later to my first post... I said this:
"...don't tell me to stop talking about when I foresaw his (Osimhen's) huge potentials. If you did, you would have been vocal about it like I was. So don't claim same knowledge with me now b'cos he is ours. I saw it early and I spoke. I wasn't scared. But did you? So please don't go there. It is my right to speak about what I see."
Merci. |

You may say he has and that's ok. It depends on how much you rate the french league. I consider him a good borderline very good player. I may change my stance on that, depending on his first season at Napoli(hopefully that materializes). So my hesitation is entirely based on the fact that i don't quite rate the French (farmers) league . And ofcourse the use of "farmer's league" is a relative designation. With respect to issues like this there's no such thing as absolute in my book. So if i look at how much the french league has improved, also look at how much the better leagues have too, given these i can determine how much gap there still is. The French league might have improved but the other leagues are improving as well, so my "farmers league" tag still stands. . TheSuperNerd: Lol... Okay good. Now you getting it. About Super stardom, ofcos I am futuristic. He isn't a super star already. Not yet.
But now come ooo.. What do you mean by he hasn't achieved stardom? A lad that is about to become the most expensive African player in the history of the beautiful game. A lad who emerged Ligue 1's best new comer and Ligue 1's best African player. A guy on the lips of Big clubs in Europe.
Now tell me... What level of recognition is that? A Moon? |

For clarity:my comment was actually referring to your futuristic prediction, so i am admitting to a misquotation on that one . He's not achieved stardom yet, but you are already going all the way to superstardom. And stop talking as if you were the first to notice he has a lot potential. Almost everyone here does. I don't want to wish one of ours badluck, but we'll definitely revisit this issue again. I am definitely expecting he will be very good. but for superstardom has to wait for very good. As you suggested only itme will tell. Take note @IDENNAA TheSuperNerd: Nonsense too. Did my comment say he is a super star already. Was it not a futuristic expression?? That I believe he will become a Superstar is now interpreted as "He is already a super star?? Is English hard for you? |

You are the one sounding childish. Are you alright with that bolded comment? World best? Did my post suggest he isn't talented? No. Did my post suggest he cannot make it in Italy? Absolutely not. Perhaps you came up with this comment based on the assumption that i must be anti-Osimhen. I doubt you even read my comment. Unless you intended this as a reply to a different comment, i cant help but say, what bullshit!. My comment was a question of whether he deserves the superstar status at this time. Star potential? Ofcourse. IDENNAA: This post is ffucking childish and incoherent. Osimhen is a Naija bred highly talented young man who has proved himself in the at the U17 , U23 , SE , French league and we the true Naija football followers are very confident he will make it in Italy because he has all the qualities to become the world best. In fact , I wont be surprised if someday Osimhen wins the Ballon dor.
We are not here to sugarcoat and act all jittery just because of some elements here who spoke too soon and are now made to eat the humble pie. But , instead of these set of jokers to sit jejely and eat the danm sweet pie they instead chose to fight a lost battle...hehe |

Take it easy with your assertions man. Can he become a star? very likely. Superstar? That's unknown. Given that his exploits has only been in the farmer's league, , you may want to tune down your super-stardom opinion. From what he has done so far, could he give you 20/25 per season? Ofcourse, very likely. But that's not superstardom. We do know the kind of house he'll likely be living in a luxurious and spacious house, but the kind and placement of the ceiling is not determined. Breaking into the superstardom level won't be easy, staying there will be even more difficult. When he get's to the star level then we can talk about his ceiling. TheSuperNerd: Spot on as regards Nacho!!! Spot on!
And @bolded... Call it whatever you like ladies and gentlemen but I agree with Kelly on this. This is the truth. We all can choose to pretend but truth speaks only truth. Some here love to hide or cover the obvious but some here also love to be bold and say it as it is.
Should things go south for just a few weeks of football in the Serie A, Komekn won't waste time at all. We know that. . But bad news is... That thing he is waiting for JUST WON'T HAPPEN. Osimhen is gonna be a f**king Super Star in Italy. Watch and See. Kelly just cool down.... We know the ways of everyone here. No be today e start.
Cheers. |

Stop ascribing one's opinion that someone non-black is doing better than one of our own to oyinbo mentality. Your's may actually be borne of inferiority complex. What would have been is not fact. You could definitely make a stimulating argument along that line. I wouldn't call Gabby a grade A striker, although he's been than Igenacho hands down. Now Iheanacho's trajectory may have turned out different if he Guardiola kept and played him, but that wasn't the case, so let's deal with what we have now. Honestly, Iheanacho's growth is on a decline, he's especially a significantly worse player than he was while at Man City. I believe he's not done well to continue his trajectory progressively. I odn't think he's been observing a good work ethic, and it seems he's lost the will and excitement that's characteristic of serious players. A serious player must be focused and deliver when called upon. In fact you should be looking forward to that moment when you are handed an opportunity to show that you belong. mostob: Doing better on what ground? And I'm sure your eyes were not closed when I said Nacho is not better than Gabby. So Gabby scored 13 goals with Kevin, Silva, Sterling and co surrounding him ...suddenly he is a grade A striker. You people should get rid of this oyinbo slavery mentality abeg. If Brazil get better striker, do you think he will be starting for them? |

Danielnino00: Nantes aren't a rich club,so how did you expect them to match Porto's valuation of Awaziem?
