Why doesn't she want to apply for a Bachelor's program directly? Our people have been involving themselves in criminal/fraudulent activities, so the Turkish Visa is becoming increasingly harder to get. A lot of our people come here as language students, drop out and indulge in unscrupulous activities. Is there any reason why she doesn't want to apply for admisison into an undergraduate program? oladipop: |
Honestly, it's a very small city. I don't know much about the place. SOme of these places are known for tourism. I had never heard of such a place until i saw your post. I suppose the kind of education you wanna get is very important. If you decide to come to Turkey as a student, then it must be to get an education much better than what Nigeria has to offer. You may want to stick to the universities in the large cities such as Izmir, Ankara, Istanbul, Gaziantep, kayseri, e.t.c, as you can be sure these universities are at least decent. tomibecca: |
Too technical? Are you kidding me. Which players are you talking about? Is it Guedioura who was playing for Al Gharafa, Qatar, Feghouli who was playing for Galatasaray, Belaili who was playing for ES Tunis, or Bennacer who was playing for Empoli-Although he's been good for AC Milan. I am not understanding you. Too creative? Rohr and lack of urgency are to blame for that loss. Unncessary holding of the ball, especially by Etebo. Release the fucking ball. If you are gonna play two holding midfielders then you must rely on quick passes and movement, especially before your opponent establishes order on the defensive. In the 38th minute there was this play by Etebo. Simple short pass he couldn't give. In the 44th minute, what kind of fucking set up is that? I don't even blame Iwobi for the turn over. Those guys left him no choice. Ndidi, 45th minute. Why wouldn't you pass the ball to Iwobi. He was actually asking for it, cos he noticed the spaces. That could've led to something good upfront. 51st minute, Oga Etebo, wetin you dey do? That move by Etebo in the 54th minute is what i want. The same 54th minute, wetin you dey do Old man Musa? . Na Clap Rohr just dey clap. . 55th minute, enen na that kind thing i dey talk. You see that combination there, old man musa try for that one but him too push the ball for that last play. 57th minute, wetin ol man dey do? En. Two people dey free for flanks you wan form Messi. . Anytime Chukwueze do that unproductive thing in the 60th minute again. Komot am. . Sometimes this boys never learn until you sit them on the bench. Besides the Algerians were already gased out by the 55th minute. Wetin correct team suppose do? This is exactly why a sound coach is needed. Instruct your players to get themselves in better positions. Simple, Clean passes. If a player doesn't want to comply get him out. Bad decision upon bad decision. I repeat that Algerian team wasn't better. Overall, Iwobi didn't try his best at all. He was terrible. The strength of our wingers went to waste. The midfielders couldn't exploit it. If you are going to play two holding midfielders, make sure one of them is very good at spraying passes that could unleash an attack. But honestly, Etebo would be a hell of a player if he can make better decisions. He exhudes a lot energy. The guy get presence i beg. He get oen stretch like that i come dey find Ndidi like a needle in a haystack. ![]() feelme2020: |
Why not Ezoho? I repeat, until Okoye proves he's better Ezoho should be number one. Joebie: |
Ok i get your point. Players and managers are definitely on different pedestals. komekn: |
En everyday? You no dey tire ni? kestolove95: |
. There's no can in that discussion mate. It has already happened. . Ofcourse Klopp says tell him i'll come back stronger and break through that negative strategy of his. Simeone says, till we meet again. But take your L in good grace. ![]() TheGoodJoe: |
I am specifically referring to that fixture. Klopp knew Simeone would play that way. He's been doing that for a long time. In all his wisdom couldn't he come up with a counter strategy? He came up short. It's as simple enough. His tactics abi na strategy was supplanted. Perhaps he learnt his lessons and can come back stronger. TheGoodJoe: |
I was referring to liverpool getting their ass kicked in the champions league mate, not you per se ![]() TheGoodJoe: |
Let me tell you something mate, a defensive style can be broken down. No team can maintain solid layers of firewall for the entire duration of a game. The layers develop faults, lapses in recovery e.t.c. If you are positive enough. apply enough positive strategy to nullify the negative. Edopesin: |
Good luck with your warped sense of view on the subject. . What does negative even mean? I kicked your ass, you tell me i was negative. Your strategy against mine. Well if you are that good find a way to negate my negative strategy by being overly positive. . I am tempted to ask you where you schooled at man. ![]() TheGoodJoe: |
You are not wrong. I mentioned that. But when your team performs badly the null hypothesis is your stategy has been terrible. Ofcourse it would be wrong not to factor other things in our determination of how much blame you deserve. komekn: |
What Nonsense. . Why would i go toe to toe with you when i can't match your talent offensively? You tell me you would like to use a spoon and i tell you i'll use my hand. What's your problem with that? You seem to think an offensive setup is of higher quality than a defensive setup, and that's ok. I'll take that subjectively. I won't even bother arguing about the difference between strategy and tactics cos they can be used interchangeably. The main difference is while one is geared towards along term goal, the other is geared towards a more temporary goal. So your strategy may not necessarily be well-defined. You may even adopt tactics initially unplanned as an adaptation to the changing play of your opponent.TheGoodJoe: |
Cherrypicking? You were good over the previous two season but your performance began taking a decline this season. The first thing that comes to mind is you have become less useful relative to others. It's as simple as that. We may eventually arrive at a conclusion that, it wasn't entirely your fault /your team was relatively worse e.t.c, but the opinion that you are probably not as good relative to others is almost a Null hypothesis. Man please stop these unnecessary use of words. Some of us here are actual researchers. You seem to think the people at theo ther end are dunces. TheGoodJoe: |
What! What is your argument? That a bad season doesn't make the audience doubt your abilities? I am not understanding you. It's in the process you find out what share of the blame you deserve. komekn: |
Semantics. Semantics. Semantics. Is that a strategy or tactic? it's incredible how some try to come off as very knowledgeable, such that trivial matters such as the difference between Tactics and Strategy are blown out of proportion. ![]() Edopesin: |
It's difficult to consistently win with a defensive pattern too. In all your wisdom you seem to think one is more difficult than the other. Bullshit. . To everyone his own. Different coaches think differently and are guided differently by pdifferent philosophies. The ultimate goal is to win and do it consistently, picking up trophies along the journey. If you do that by parking the bus so be it.TheGoodJoe: |
Yes a bad season negates previous good seasons(not fully). It gives one a reason to rethink the opinion that you are the real deal. TheGoodJoe: |
@Team local i hail. . I share your pains. I would rather have a Nigerian coach our senior national team. For the same reason i want Ole to succeed at Man Utd. . I assume chelsea fans want the same for Lampard. It is what it is. Our coaches are not doing well. We wanna support our own, but as far as football is concerned the desire to win is higher. If a white man can deliver that, as much as i would like to hate the fact that he would be occupying a position i believe should be occupied by a local, i would take solace in the fact that he would get us trophies. My qualms about the hiring process is that those useless NFF usually end up hiring average foreign coaches. Perhaps the fact that we are not up there with those European/South American power houses means we can only settle for the average coaches. On the issue of finding a good coach across the continent, i would say it's not as easy as you make it seem. Most other African countries have the same problems. If there were good African coaches out there, it's very likely their countries would have hired them. So we are back to hiring our own. Your last two sentences are quite important in this journey towards self-reliance. I have always expected the NFF to be at the forefront of the actualization of such a mission. If you organize programs to help interested former players acquire the necessary basic technical coaching ability, i am sure lots of hopefuls will show up to participate. But because wetin those useless people wan chop they'll never embark on such projects. It seems they benefit more finacially from hiring foreign coaches than local coaches. Some will say this is unlikely cos the white man won't take such a thing. But the recent happenings have only reminded us that human behaviour is largely depedent on our environment. You give the whiteman the chance, he'll steal, defraud you, and take a bribe. Nigeria is a very sick nation honestly. Some serious shake up is needed. I tell you some people must be ready to sacrifice everything to cause that change. Sadly, although we want things to miraculously change for the better, most people won't come forward. We are mostly unpatriotic. Some will say there's no reason to be patriotic. ofcourse that's true. But i tell you the zeal, the unrelenting spirit, the unwavering desire to lay yourself down is exactly what this country needs. Nothing less. Such people are not made anymore. Sad story. Back to the subject matter. We are on the same page on what we need. But until we are ready for it, i am afraid we are stuck with white average coaches. IDENNAA: |
Stop this nonsense talk abeg. . The reason the Argentine team has not had continental success is cos their coaches have been useless. Konfirm. It's the job of a coach to know which parts best fit together. Besides your comparison is quite out of place. Are you comparing Copa America to Afcon. I am not understanding you. Person dey talk win Afcon, you dey bring Argentina into the discussion. The current crop of players we have are the either the most talented or the second most talented in Africa(maybe to senegal). You can mention the teams you think are more talented.sheyishemba: |
Stop this fifa ranking bullshit. He's basked enough in the glory of "he pulled us out of doldrums". It's time to deliver results befitting the level of talent we've got. I am fine with a coach beng just above average when he begins. But if you won't learn and get better at your craft, you should be fired. And waht we have isn't quite as a result of what Rohr has built. It's mostly circumstantial. He needs to consider himself very lucky to be have such a talented crop to pick from. Not many coaches get this opportunity. So when this falls on your lap, thank your "head". for wanting you to succeed and deliver.Lucque: |
I have said it and i'll say it again. If Rohr cannot get us the next Afcon or at least lose honorably to a more talented team in the finals, he has to be fired. I don't remember the last time Nigeria had such a crop of talented players. No excuses regarding where we rank. The only reason we rank lower than those teams is cos he fared worse than those teams, even though they were not more talented. I went to check that Algerian squad again and they were not a better team. You could argue that they beat senegal in the finals. Yes they did, but that was cos senegal were terrible too, not cos they were more talented. |
You may be correct. Juventus would have lost a total of 15 points without Cristiano Ronaldo's goals. 12 of his goals were penalties. About half of them were crucial in close wins. About half of those(3) penalties were due to others. This pushes the total number of points to around 10. They are currently 7 points clear, so they would most probably have had a total of 73 points which puts then at 5th. Dalil8: |
The statement that if 90% of a crop of players look overaged then it's very likely they are overaged is based on experience. We know how we look. Situations where players look younger/older than their age happen but it's an outlier. You can't base your statements on outliers. If you are one day older than 17 you would be lying if you featured in an under 17 tournament. 21 is at least 4 years older than 16/17 and that's definitely too much. If a player is 17 you should normally be able to tell with an error of at most 2 years. Chidera Ezeh while he played for under 17 looked 17, no question. Now he could have been older, perhaps he had a baby face, and structure. That was the only player i could tell he's 17 barring a situations whereby he was an outlier-i don't remember any other. The others looked at least 20. It's the same reason why we know the players have been a lot younger over the last 7 years or so. Although that's mostly cos MRI forced it. So going as far as 21 is too much. TheGoodJoe: |
Real small boys? What's your proof? Is your basis for that not eye test? Do you have access to their birth certificates? If you can use eye test to estimate the age bracket of some of our players, others can use the same method to decide if our players are overaged. And while some may look older than their ages, others may look younger than their ages too. However since we don't have access to their original birth certificates-This may not be correct as well(birth certificates are still being completed with pen ink ), but i would rather use that instead of the Passport(you can get a passport without a certificate), for a crop of 23 players, if it looks obvious that 90% of them are overaged, you can be certain that it's very likely they are overaged, since people whose appearance belies their age are usually a small percent of the population. Meanwhile, for those people you mentioned, Mikel, Chidiebere e.t.c i am sure most people here do think they actually didn't lie about their ages, and if they did, it could be by a year or 2. So yes we do think most of our players are usually older than their youth level, and we our reasons are well justified, and that's not to embarass our players. One thing this pandemic has taught everyone is that, humans generally behave similarly everywhere. The major difference between Nigeria and these developed countries lies in the system in place. Their system works well in keeping residents in check. Until such a system is in place, youth coaches will continue to invite players that are overaged as long as they think they are the best(whether their choice is motivated by financial benefits is another thing). An under 17 coach meets an under 17 player he likes, he finds out the lad is 21.He tells him, 21 and 17 are not that different. . Just four years. Go get a passport that says you are 17. Who is gonna let such an opportunity pass by. This is just one scenario.TheGoodJoe: |
