My guess is that you are the said person who sent the attachment to me, otherwise I'm wondering why you're so bothered about it.

Secondly. If you have been following this thread from Page 1 to 16, you would have noticed the attachment is littered all over the place by Various users. So dafuqhuh

Please don't quote my moniker again as I would no longer comment on the issue. Thank you for understanding.

Do you know if anyone was there with only photocopies? And was there any fuss made about it?

BamBella:
Yes I did.

But only your photocopies would be collected.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Pwc Graduate Recruitment 2020 by benque: 9:54pm On Mar 10, 2020
You were spot on

TheBlessedHero:
It takes between 7 and 10 days, after online test date has elapsed.
Going by this, plus the fact that verification test is starting on 16th of this month, then mails should start droping around 10th of this month.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Pwc Graduate Recruitment 2020 by benque: 9:51pm On Mar 10, 2020
Hi, did you have to go with your original copies?

BamBella:
Your degree Statement of Result will be accepted.

For the verification exam, you'll be requested to come with your Degree Certificate/Statement of Result, Valid ID, WAEC certificate, NYSC certificate, CV and Passport photograph before you would be allowed to take the exam.

I was fortunate enough to be called for the verification exam last year, passed the SHL numerical and Verbal tests, but the Personality Assessment let me down cry.

By God's grace I know I'm going in this year, see you all at Landmark Towers soon wink.

Congratulations in advance!

I'm thinking of getting a mifi when I get back to Nigeria next year. Trying to decide one with coverage and speed. I shuttle Lagos-Asaba-Ph-Enugu frequently. Does any of these networks cover this area ? Someone with good knowledge of these things should please advise
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by benque: 10:46pm On Nov 29, 2019
Truth everywhere in this post.
Please can you shed more light on the GIC u mentioned ?

Qudkom:
Long post alert

I hate when I log into this forum and see excessive refusals. The truth is your refusal isn't because;
1. You truly have a vague SOP
2. Your academic program doesn't show a true purpose of visit.
3. Weak family ties or any of those vague reasons they give.

Since I got here I have analysed so many trends with international students from other countries most especially India and China. And here is my conclusion;

1. Most of this international students can't even speak good English hence, how did they scale through the SOP part that they mostly tell us we've written something "poor or vague"

P.S: Nationality withheld in a group presentation one international student wrote a report and I wanted to faint. A JSS3 Nigerian student can't write like that!

2. Most of them don't even get study permits for relevant courses that correlate with any work experience or whatsoever that we otherwise get refused for under the contempt of "purpose of visit" or "limited employment opportunities"

Now the reasons why this international students scale through the hectic STUDY PERMIT requirements are because;

1. They pay a year tuition
2. Show verifiable proof of living expenses (10kCAD)
3. They have viable financial institutions that give student loans with flexible payment intervals.
4. They hardly submit fraudulent documents which can ruin the chances of others.
5. Indians and Chinese immigrants invest a lot in Canada if you go to greater Toronto areas or Vancouver you'll confirm this.

So tell me why they won't be favoured. They don't care if they don't have a clear purpose of visit or whatsoever PRUDENCE is the order of the day

Also another clear reason why we Nigerians have so many refusals is simply because the study permit program in Canada as become over successful and there is simply not enough space. You need to see the way universities and colleges cash out yearly from international students it's unbelievable and when you notice that some other countries are given more priority then where do we stand. Where do we stand in a situation;
1. Where we're using 2/3 co-sponsors where some Asian kid as paid one year school fees and still doesn't mind paying 1kcad every month on living expenses.

2. Where do we stand when some people have ruined others chances through fraudulent documents

3. Where do we stand when other nationals are purchasing GIC(Guaranteed investment certificate) in the tune of 10kcad upwards to show proof of fund and we are still drawing table on how our uncle/brother/sister will sponsor us and getting #500 affidavit to support our claim

Please guys don't beat yourself up the system is flawed you aren't stupid or unfortunate it's just how the system works. I have met 2 immigration lawyers in Canada and I have seen some truth about the system.

Canada’s lack of a federal business immigration program and the difficulty of entering as a skilled worker through the express-entry system is adding to the overwhelming numbers of international students lining up for permanent residency. People from abroad are becoming students, just to have a pathway to immigration, he says.

“They're forcing people that really shouldn't go to school into the school system. And that's why, perhaps, the refusal rates are higher

On the contrary you can set yourself apart by boosting your chance if you have the means;
1. Pay a year tuition
2. Keep living expenses in the tune of 10KCAD in a fixed deposit and let it mature for at least 3months
3. Avoid fraudulent documents
4. Keep your SOP simple and straight to the point
5. Avoid using confusing documents
6. I'm sorry to say but limit the amount of co-sponsors if possible
7. Apply for relevant courses.

P.S: At thus rate the Canadian government might have post graduate work programs for people that study specific technical courses only while the rest will go home just like what we witnessed in UK.

Keep your heads high and keep pushing. It is well. Cheers

Wow so sorry to hear this. Was rooting for you. My advise will be to defer and apply in January

MissMichelleA:
Well my refusal just came in today.
Reasons: Family ties in Canada and at home, 'limited employment opportunities in my country of residence' (WTF does that even mean? I read information technology BTW and there are a ton of IT start-ups popping up everywhere.) and current employment situation (I finished NYSC and started applying to schools immediately, didn't get a job interim because my parents thought it would be too stressful juggling school applications because I'm SS).
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by benque: 4:43pm On Nov 18, 2019
Same here, deferred because of delay tho. What course ?

MissMichelleA:
Hi. I got admission for Winter 2020. My visa application is still being processed though.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by benque: 7:14am On Nov 15, 2019
This explains the high refusal from August, at that point, they had about 500 approvals left. Good thing I shifted my application to January

Obehi44:
Just stumbled on these statistics this morning and i thought i should share. Do you notice a trend for Nigeria? Seems they have a certain number of study permits they issue to Nigerians. I did the maths and i came up with and average of btw 6000 - 6200 per year for Nigerians. I am sure it will be up to 6 Million applicant per year. Multiply that by the cost of visa fee.
This is the reason why i say it takes grace and luck. And the more reasons why its good to also start considering other countries.
I wish us all luck.

Congratulations. Finally some good news

Troup:
Hi Guys,
I submitted my application before finding out about this platform

Application Timeline
Submission: August 14th (Online)
Biometrics : August 15th
Medical request came on October 2nd
I did my medical Test at IOM on October 14th
Medical Uploaded/ passed : October 18th
Request for passport and approval: October 18th ( the same day I passed my medicals)

I did the application myself, I was actually scared because when I got to this platform and saw the amount of documents others were submitting (which I forgot to add).
I just want to let you guys know that there's still hope, put you best in your application and everything will work out well in your favour by Gods grace.

This house members aren't being pessimistic, they are only telling you what happens based on a trend that goes back at least 6 months.

Your guess is as good as mine. This house-member shouldn't be pessimistic and that it's happened to some shouldn't be made a standard
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by benque: 5:57pm On Oct 18, 2019
Sorry about this bro. These guys are mad. I think no one should bother applying for the rest of the year. I urge you not to give up. Defer admission to May, try one last time in January. Remember all we have spent so far on medicals and what not.

My personal plan is to apply January. If it comes out negative, it's straight to UK because of this new 2 years development. If that be the case, I'd still run EE after securing the masters, after all na 1 year masters with option to stay 2 years. Reason am

bennyg24:
Good day nairaland family,
Application refused for the second time
submitted: September 18 (with upfront medical)
BVL: October 16
Refusal: October 16
Reasons for refusal
Family ties in Canada and country of residence
Limited personal assets and financial status
I got admitted to MEng civil engineering for winter 2020 at university of Windsor, had my BEng in civil engineering in 2015
three years experience plus a registered business of six months old,
I paid tuition deposit of 4000CAD
sponsor had 37kCAD plus extra in account to care for tuition(total tuition is 30kCAD)
I had 10kCAD plus 1.1m in personal account for living expenses and flight itinerary all well explained in SOP/LOE but still got refused,
note: first refusal was on insufficient funds to pay tuition, maintain myself and transport fare,
second refusal now family ties and limited assets
home ties:my functioning business, land, parents/siblings and future employment prospects
Family and siblings all employed in Nigeria

I wish all TRV hopefuls speedy approval and thanks to all those here using their time, knowledge and experience to assist others.
As for me I am out of this Canada game, let my use my hard earned cash to boost my company here and will thus visit other countries on my vacations instead of dashing those wicked VO's 150CAD per application.
