Bros, that is not the point. It does not matter if they are the best peacekeepers or not. The foundation of the Nigerian military is wrong. Why clean up another man's house while your's is dirty? Ask yourself this, do you trust them? When i walk down the streets in uniform people shake my hand and thank me for my service and i always feel proud. Can you do the same for/to a Nigerian soldier? Do you feel safe around them? be honest.

Ignorance is bliss. I too like Naija. Land of opportunity. In the midst of mediocrity, when one man does an abacadabra everybody hails him because they do not know any better. How i wish some of you experience what real governance is all about and realise that y'aall are being taken for a ride. You pay tax but still pay extra for security, power, etc and the government is afraid to open up the books to let everyone see how the state funds are being managed. The worst part is almost everyone does not see anything wrong with this. Kai, i sigh big time. Anyway God dey.

even for here women are not that naive to believe they won't do the laundry. But the real problem is poverty and hunger in Nigeria. What you call "washing" clothes we call doing "laundry" and believe me its fun to do. Just plop the d.amn clothes in and kick back and relax. When there is no electricity how una wan take use washing machine?

it is complicated. It depends on the kind of relatioship you both have. When I was going out with my wife she did it of her own accord. If she hadn't I would not have said anything but it would registerd that maybe she might not be for me. When we got married and she got a job we had to get a washerman to do it for us. When later we could afford a washing machine we opted for it. The point is her washing my clothes when we were single was not to show my dominance over her but to see if she could take care of me, my kids and my home.

Let me see. when i was still single and searching these traits used to tick me off. Farting for the fun of it and laughing about it, stealing, overeating, sagging waistline, bad hygeine, blabber mouths, k-legged chicks, lack of spirituality, gossiping and inability to perform effectively.

Well i'll try and get closer to God, put a cap on my spending, be more disciplined in my day trading, try and improve my 2 mile run to 14min, improve my situps and pushups to 60 respectively, control my temper more, improve on my BRM and acquire my expert badge and try to understand BEAF'S madness.

You don't need marriage certificate to show you are responsible. The certificate is only a piece of paper.

You can maintain an healthy relationship and even have children without getting married.

I know lots of unmarried people who are happy living single. And many more married who regretted getting married.

I didn't ask nobody not to get marry, I only advocate for people to be sure of the reason they are doing it.

I do not know which planet you are from but i do not know anybody in my circle who is of marriage age and is single and happy about it. You are talking as if you are 10 years old. well, i believe marriage is great and that it is overrated. i don't think i'm lonely, unhappy, immature or scared of commitment. saying marriage is overrated isn't so much a reflection of the actual importance of marriage, as it is a reflection of people's perception of the importance of marriage. so it is overrated in the sense that people act like it's a do-or-die affair. like u might as well marry just anybody rather than stay single. or like singleness is a curse. i've seen so many unhappy marriages but i don't think that's enough reason to avoid marriage. however, it's better to be happily unmarried than to be unhappily married.

You are talking as if one wakes up one morning and decides to marry. The arguement is if marriage itself is worthwhile and not why marriages fail. If a person is dumb enough to marry whoever he/she feels at the drop of a dime then you deserve the horror stories/experience you get.

The truth is that a lot of people don't even know why they are getting married, or they are getting married for all the flimsies reasons.

Marriage is highly overrated. You should be sure it worths the reason why you are getting married, else let you partner know that you are not cut out for marriage

The worst thing in life is to one day wake up one morning and you realise that you are 60 years old and start to wonder what in God's name you used your life to do. Only lonely, unhappy and immature people who fear commitment will actually believe that marriage is overated. I'm sure you will get married one day and if you hold this opinion then why do it in the first place? If you say you wont get married then you lie. If you are already married and still hold this opinion then you must lead a very sad life. I sympathize.

Its actually new. Despite visa refusals and bad treatment, Nigerians are one of the favored Africans allowed in Western Countries. Just check the US Visa lottery- Nigeria is in the top 3 (I think it is the second) countries in which the Us Government offers visas to according to raw numbers. I usually thought because it was an anglophone country and Nigerians are actually good immigrants- even the 419 ones are polite, gentle and don't commit any violent crime.

What those people do not understand is that marriage is like starting and owning a business. You can start with little capital to set up your office (home) conduct interveiw for potential employees (dating) and eventually employ a general manager (wife). Now the job of GM is very very important because the GM must be capable enough to know what you want in relation to the vision you have for the company, (Home/marriage) and be able to run it efficiently and effectively. The GM also must be able to identify where and when to diversify in order for the company to grow (her own career). Eventually when the company is on sure footing more staffs can be employed to help sustain the business for posterity sake. (children)
