Nigerian courts cannot arbitrate or adjudicate on matters between P &ID and the Nigerian government.

Nigerian government signed an agreement that all matters concerning their contract with P&ID would be decided in British courts or the international court for arbitration.

The Abuja court judgment is of no effect. Nigerian leaders should be serious in scrutinizing contracts before they sign and not stop running up and down when issues comes up. They ought to have done what they were supposed to do but failed in the usual Nigerian way of " leaving like that. Nothing go happen".

They are used to running to court to obtain fake judgment - it wont work in this case. Go back to the British court and tell the British Crown Court to order P&ID to forfeit their Nigerian assets and not one Mahmud court in Abuja.

The Federal Government has given approval for the construction of the $5.3bn Ibadan to Kano standard gauge rail line project.

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, disclosed this on Thursday at the third Maritime Stakeholders Interactive Forum.

“Just yesterday, we got approval to complete the $5.3bn Ibadan to Kano rail project. We have also applied for funding to commence coastal rail for the Port Harcourt to Warri segment,” Amaechi said.

According to a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Transportation in Abuja, the minister also revealed that the Minister of State for Transportation, Gbemisola Saraki, would be in charge of all maritime agencies, while he (Amaechi) would focus on the railway sector.

He said, “In my first term as minister, I completely abandoned the maritime sector to the heads of agencies. This time, that won’t be happening again.

“I have instructed that the Minister of State for Transportation should personally supervise the maritime agencies, while I just oversee what is happening.”

Amaechi said he had discussed issues on maritime safety with President Muhammadu Buhari and assured his listeners that by next year, the country will have a single window in the maritime sector.

He said, “There are two things I discussed with Mr. President that I will be focusing on in this second term as minister, and they are maritime security and the single window project.

“I have assured the government that by the end of 2020, we should have a single-window in our maritime sector.

“On maritime security, I have told the Israeli firm HSLI that they are too slow. By now, they should have launched. I want to know the situation of things with the aspect of security on our maritime space.”

I lived in the USA continuously from 1986 to 2019 and worked predominantly in major hospitals with at least one being a HMO. So my response is based on first hand knowledge and not internet clippings. Majority of Americans end up with alarming bills after a medical emergency,

Also, I never said which system is better.

They end up with those bills because they were UNINSURED. This is for states without government subsidised plans. It varies by state. In any case it's not outrageous if u live in a subsidized state or ur uninsured. In Nigeria health insurance doesn't work.

There is a public healthcare system where you are covered as a resident citizen and then there is private health insurance. Calling an ambulance is covered or at the very least subsidized under public health insurance. It's also covered under private. Nigger land countries are all fked up cos even the insurance companies won't pay for the ambulance even after u hv paid premium for years. And even when the ambulance is called the driver will be non chalant. The drivers / motorists won't clear for the ambulance to pass.

Sure ambulance will be there quickly, even air ambulance but the patient may live to regret it once the bills start to roll in. Nothing is free in El Dorado.

Very few handful civilians in the UK will ever earn £60,000 per year in the UK. Only director/ ceo of companies are on that salary, Even if they are on it, The net income paid to your bank account after tax is £3,000 per month despite you being on an £5,000 per month salary ( The £2,000 remaining would automatically be paid to the govt as tax)

The UK system is brilliant if you are content with life andjust want your children to get something you never had like universities you talked about etc.

But if they call an ambulance it will be there within 5 minutes, doctors and nurses are more professional, the system as a whole works, mist aren't rich but they lead happier lives, theres security, public libraries and parks in each community, ppl don't act cursed like in Nigeria.
