Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a pastor identified as Reverend Elisha Noma of Nagarta Baptist Church , Angwan Makiri, near Udawa, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.


The incident which occurred around 1:30 am Wednesday, the armed kidnappers, numbering about 20, reportedly stormed the village and forced their way into the Pastor’s house and went away with him and his son.

But, they later released the son, Emmanuel Elisha, who was threatened to go and raise an unspecified amount of money as ransom to secure the release of his father within five days or risk being killed.

According to the pastor’s son, “They came around 1 am. They were about 20 armed men came to the village and started hitting at doors but nobody opened. They then forced their way into houses and vandalised properties. They carted away some valuables including mobile phones and clothing in my mother’s box.

“They picked me together with my father. But after a while into the bush, I was released and they went away with my father. One of them was dressed in military camouflage."

According to the report, they told the pastor's son that failure to produce the ransom will have his father killed.

A friend was at the Lagos international airport recently when he overhead a customs official complaining he had too much work and that he shouldn't be brought more travelling passengers to reduce his work load. Do you count armed robbery, gang violence and domestic violence as mass shooting? if you do, then there are already 3 today alone. To do that, you'll count thousands in a Year in the United States. That removes gang violence or armed robbery or domestic violence. When I said mass shooting, I meant people that shoot at others indiscriminately without cause. You counted rituals, robbery and kidnapping in Nigeria, but you don't often hear of a lone shooter shooting sporadically in a night club or in a shopping mall or inside a campus. If things like these will even happen, they are organised by gangs or cultists. It's not only US that have people with mental issues. It's even worse in Nigeria with very few people with hospital records or access to good health care, how many pyschriatic hospitals are inot eachieve state in Nigeria. Or how many people have their health histories with the hospitals. How do you want to give these people guns and you think they'll be better off? How will you know not to sell a gun to a disturbed person in a place like Nigeria?

I believe the issue in the US is loneliness as well as powerlessness and lack of purpose due to rise of modern day feminism - many men no longer have purpose and feel powerless- but even at that violent shootings aren't the way to express anger. Long before modern feminism there are women who felt powerless and lonely but they never did mass shootings. So we can safely say these shootings are as a result of TOXIC MASCULINITY!!

A combination of factors: upbringing, education, environment and societal influence, etc. Tell me what good influence Nigeria political class including the presidency have on the populace.
