Seriously, what is the name of that lady? |
Instead of marrying two wives, it is better to marry three wives. With two wives, if they team up against you, that could be a big problem for you. With three wives, it is more difficult for all of them to plan against you. However for peace of mind and less trouble in the family, it is better to marry only one wife. The more wives you marry, the more problems and, trouble in the family. |
I have had such an experience before in the past but I thought that I actually saw a ghost as I was frightened by the flash of bright light, which woke me up and chilled me up to my shoulders. I could not see anybody and the bright light flash gradually faded away. I was very scared. Later on in the morning I learnt that one of my relatives had died in an accident that night. So I concluded that it must be the ghost of the dead relative that visited me. |
Boko Haram is synonymous with insecurity in Nigeria as it is the greatest source of insecurity in Nigeria today. Therefore Boko Haram = Insecurity. |
It appears that the two most difficult challenges Nigeria is facing at the moment as a nation, which stand in our way to making any form of appreciable progress and even threaten our existence are corruption and boko haram. But which one should we accord greater importance and/or attention. I need your views, fellow Nairalanders. |
Who cares about Gala? It's tasteless and junk food. My children refused to eat it when they visited Nigeria and I offered it to them. |
Jonathan should be very careful in dealing with BH. Those guys might attempt to bomb him if he gets close to them. Let's not forget that some of them are suicide bombers and their highest target is GEJ himself. |
May God bless Rochas. |
GEJ and all FEC members should cut their salaries, allowances and irrelevant travels and tours by at least 50% in the first instance. |
We must all take full advantage of this ample opportunity presented by the current wave of events in Nigeria and hold the country hostage. Then the masses would dictate to the government how much the president, vice president, governors, senators, ministers, LGA chairmen, councillors, special advisers, etc would be receiving as salaries and allowances. This is time of austerity measures and only the poor Nigerian masses would not bear the brunt of fuel subsidy removal. We all know that the politicians do not have to pay for their fuel while they are in office. Also when they are out of office they must have stolen enough money for them and their generations to come to be able to buy fuel even if it costs N1000 per litre. Lastly the families of Jonathan and his vice should only get N10million for their feeding and entertainment instead of the N1trillion they have budgetted for themselves. |
The type of protest that will have the most desirable impact on the government would be the one directed around Aso Rock by protesters making sure that Jonathan is unable to come out or enter his residence and office. Also protesters should block any road or entrance to the senate buildings, making sure that senators are unable to sit and have their normal sessions. By so doing, they will hold the politicians hostage and hijack the nation. If protesters can achieve these, then Jonathan and his senators and ministers would be left with no alternative than to listen to the masses. As long as the president and his fellow politicians have the freedom to carry on with their usual work, then it is life as usual. They would not be moved even if the whole of Lagos, Benin, Ilorin or Enugu is burning. They only care about themselves. |

There is no need to call on God to punish all our corrupt leaders. This is because God does not have to solve to the problems which we can solve by ourselves. It is we the common masses who will take matters into our own hands and deliver ourselves. Remember that Shakespare said "Cassius from bondage will deliver Cassius". If the masses decide to bring down the government, nothing and nobody can stop them. There may be strong resistance from the government and definitely some casualties but at last the masses will win. The masses have the right to say "NO" to a bad government. |
That makes Kolade another multi billionaire in the making. |
the time for revolution is now. |
GEJ should be chased out of office for inflicting undue pain on common Nigeria. He should first slash the salaries and allowances of all politicians including GEJ and his vice and every politicians in Nigeria by at least 50%. The nation will raise more than N1.3 trillion each year if the politicians are to be paid half of their salaries and allowances. He should also bring all the companies who he claimed have been benefiting from the subsidy and make them to repay all they have stolen. Only after he has taken such steps would Nigeria believe that he has something good to offer the people. GEJ budgeted nearly N1billion for his upkeep and that of his vice in 2012 despite his desperate cry for lack of cash to run the nation. Fuel subsidy removal and increase in cost of fuel by more than 100% without adequate consultation with commom and ordinary Nigerians (who will bear the brunt) is an insult on the electorate that made him the president of Nigeria. |
This is truly an interesting post as it affects or concerns everybody in the world even more than the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria. However I would like to know if being an introvert or extrovert has any horoscopic implications or has it got something to do with our stars? |
The price of unleaded petrol in most places in UK is actually £1.40 per litre, which is between N350 and N364. My calculation is based on exchange rate of between N250/£ and N260/£. I am not sure what the exchange rate is right now but I assume that it is somewhere between N250 and N260 for one pound. Correct me if I am wrong. Last time I was in Nigeria in July 2011, I changed money for N270/£. |
But GEJ is not slow in making false promises. |
The Sultan was neither looking at GEJ or smiling back at him. I smell deceit on the part of the Sultan. |
Why can't the government pre-empt such attacks during a festive period like this. Even though I am not in Nigeria but I suspected so much that BH would attack some places of worship during this festive period. It doesn't take a fortune teller to predict that such attacks are imminent during this period. Government should have deployed military personnel or policemen to guard all churches and mosques. I read on the news that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure that this festive period would be safe for Nigerians. The government is not serious about protecting the citizenry or perhaps the government lacks what it takes to safeguard Nigerians. I am sure that when BH start to bomb senators in senate buildings and the president at his residence then they must provide adequate protection for themselves. But if it affects the ordinary people the government just do not care. The government is after the interest of only people in high places and not for everybody. They have adequate security and protection for themselves but what about the people who voted them into power? |
Security vote should be reduced to N500 billion. The remaining money should be allocated to agriculture, power, industry and education sectors. |
The issue should not be the punishment of poor Nigerian masses by removing fuel subsidy but has to do with cutting down on all the huge salaries, allowances and benefits of all the people in government. That way the country will save more money than what it could get from removal of fuel subsidy, which would hurt the masses more than the elite. Why is the government not trying to cut down on the salaries, allowances and other benefits that all political office holders including the president, his vice, senators, ministers, advisers, LGA chairmen, councillors etc are enjoying by at least 50%? Instead the president and his vice are budgetting almost N1 trillion for their feeding and upkeep alone in 2012. Our leaders must lead by showing good example. |
You should consider keeping the TV in your bedroom. |
Nthnymarce, I have been exporting from UK to Nigeria for quite some time but I want to start exporting from Nigeria to UK. Do you have any advice and/or contacts for buyers in UK? |
Jonathan has taken a very drastic step directed towards the poor masses who voted him into power. I had expected Jonathan to have directed his attention towards the fat cats in Nigeria who have looted trillions of naira and then plunge all the looted money to expand and diversify the economy. Afterall he has been in power for about two years, which I consider to be enough time for him to take firm action against corruption in the country. I don't think that Jonathan represents the masses in Nigeria who are going to bear the brunt of the punishment he is inflicting with more pain and anguish. How does the president expect a family with the bread-winner earning only N18,000.00 to survive with the escalation in price of every item and commodity in the market? |
Nigerian police is the purveyor of corruption in Nigeria. The whole police need cleansing to give the nation a new image. |
Jonathan has never been ready for anything. How ready was he for Boko Haram? He has started to sound just like another Gadaffi by being egocentric, obstinate, pig-headed and intransigent. I hope he does not suffer the same fate as Gadaffi. He must respect and consider the feelings of the masses to whom power belongs. I guess he is not tougher than Gadaffi. Let's wait and see. |
If this government is sensitive to the plight of ordinary citizens of Nigeria, they should first make sure that we have uninterrupted power supply throughout the entire country, all roads repaired, good and well equipped hospitals with free treatment for everybody, adequate supply of portable water to all citizens and educational system that matches international standards e.t.c. When all these are accomplished and the people are enjoying the dividends of democracy and feel rewarded for their faith in GEJ that he is the right person to lead us to the promised land, then nobody would agitate over the removal of fuel subsidy. Then Nigerian citizens would be able to use the savings they made from the benefits of constant electricity, good roads e.t.c. to pay for the removal of fuel subsidy but right now the government only wants to roast the poor citizens alive. Boko Haram, please get ready to take immediate action once oil subsidy is removed because you will have many supporters. |
I think that GEJ wasted a lot of the nation's money during his last political campaign that led to his election as president. I remember that Pat Utomi once said that GEJ was spending N100,000,000.00 (one hundred million Nara) each day for his campaign because he wanted to win the election at all cost. The greatest problem that this country has is that we know those who have highjacked our nation's wealth but nobody cares to bring them to cough out all they have stolen and then put them in prison. Another thing that I have noticed is that our leaders have always devised ways to impoverish the masses so the people become very vulnerable and unable to challenge the big shots. That's why it is practically impossible for anybody who has not stolen the nation's money either in government or by government connections to think about making any headway in politics or aspire to become a political figure in Nigeria. It's a shame that more than 51 years after independence, Nigerians are only praying to have good roads and electricity. Most intellectuals rot away and die with very good ideas about how to change the system for the benefit of everybody because they don't have money to back them up. In Nigeria, once people have become a governor, president, minister, special adviser e.t.c. then they are qualified to vie for any position in politics because such people have stolen enough to take them to greater heights in politics. That's why we see recycling of the same persons or members of the same families continuing to rule and dictate to the less privileged masses. What is GEJ doing about cutting the fat wages and allowances of himself and other politicians? Sanusi had once said that it costs the nation one third of its yearly budget to pay and maintain our politicians. Nobody has ever done anything about that. I think that the nation is heading for big time trouble and hardship unless some really drastic happens. It's only in Nigeria, a top oil producing country that workers earn a meagre N20000 a month i.e. about $125 dollars. This is less than what an average worker gets for a day's wage in most countries. I really weep for Nigeria as I see worse days ahead. GEJ should never try to remove fuel subsidy, which is the only thing that has kept the common man going. He should find money from all the people who have looted our treasury including himself or else he should just resign for lack of competence to rule. I regret for ever supporting his election as president. I thought he has something to offer but he appears to be just the same as others we have seen in the past. |
