Well, the police can make mistakes in any country. This is not peculiar to Nigeria alone.
CelebritiesRe: Us Entertainers Refuse To Come To Nigeria by bigdoo: 6:51pm On Dec 01, 2011
US entertainers or what did you say? I live in London but I don't ever play or listen to any foreign music when I am in London or Nigeria. Our local Nigerian musicians are doing very well and I cannot remember the last time I listened to foreign music or watched any foreign movies. For me it is Nigerian musicians and Nollywood films for life. Foreign entertainers can go to hell.
PoliticsRe: UK, Amnesty International Kick Against Nigeria’s Anti man-lover Law by bigdoo: 6:05pm On Dec 01, 2011
Two of my relatives (men) whom I sponsored and assisted to come over and live in UK have all got married to white males in the name of same sex marriage.  I have since banned them from visiting my houses either in UK or Nigeria.  One of them has lived in London for 17 years but has never visited Nigeria despite the fact that he has British nationality and has no restrictions to his movement.  The other visits Nigeria and has once returned to Nigeria with his white male partner.  He went about lying to people that the whiteman was his colleague at work.  Because some people from my town already had a hint that he is married to a whiteman, he narrowly escaped being stoned and beaten up by our townsmen.  What a shame to this generation.  We should all stick together to fight against any satanic influence in our dear country Nigeria.
FamilyRe: His Wife Has Too Many Male Friends by bigdoo: 5:37pm On Dec 01, 2011
If you know that you have not cheated on her and that you have been faithful to her all the time  of your marriage, then it is left for you to decide if you can put up with her behaviour or not.  I don't know who is the bread winner in the family.  Women tend to take their husbands for granted when they start to earn substantial income.  It gets into their head so much and sometimes some of them forget that they came into the marriage with absolutely nothing.
BusinessRe: FG Blames IBB's Administration For Our Economic Problems by bigdoo: 4:21pm On Nov 30, 2011
I know that is very hard and time consuming to build or rebuild anything but destruction takes only a very short time and easier to accomplish. Our problem in Nigeria is that all the people who looted our country's treasury are left unquestioned but instead such people are celebrated. I know for sure that things took a downturn in the Nigerian economy and life became very hard for many Nigerians soon after Babangida took over government from Buhari. Since then Nigeria has never been the same. Inflation has become endemic standard of living, education and almost everything in Nigeria fell flat. I remember telling my children how I bought four brand new tyres for my car for only N100.00 (hundred naira) i.e. N25 each in 1982 as a youth corper in Ogun state. Life was so good and enjoyable and Nigerians had good quality of life.

It is my view and opinion that all past rulers should be questioned about how they became so rich as to control the resources and factors of production in Nigeria. They have become untouchable and nobody can question, imprison them and get them to return all their loots at home and abroad back to the nation. IBB should explain to Nigerians how he built his house, which has 49 rooms with everything you can not even imagine including an air strip where his planes land and take off from. His house doors are made of gold. He should also explain to Nigerians how he and his late wife made money to own many businesses in France and other parts of Nigeria. The same applies to Abacha's family, Obasanjo who has the biggest farm in Africa, world class schools and Arik Airline to mention but a few.

The list does not exonerate all those who have held positions as ministers, senators, commissioners, local government chairmen etc. I know of a certain past minister who before he joined politics did not have a house he could call his own. But in less than 3 years in a political position, he bought five houses in USA and acquired several assets in Nigeria worth billions of naira. Nigeria cannot continue to be run in this way. In Nigeria it's 'the winner takes it all’ syndrome. It does not go down well with me, it really makes me sick and something radical needs to be done and very soon.

Dishonesty and telling lies about themselves and previous relationshp(s) before the marriage took place and only for the other partner to find out the true person they married after a long time. Also disrespect for the other partner and backbiting, backstabbing and blackmailling the other partner.
PoliticsRe: GEJ Directs Road Repair Work Nationwide To Be Top Priority by bigdoo: 3:16pm On Nov 29, 2011
I used the Lagos - Ore - Benin express road in August and there was so much delay and holdup for about 5 hours at Ore. I noticed that the holdup was due to repairs on the road. I was however pleasantly surprised when I used the same road in November as there was less delay and holdup. Also there was marked and significant improvement on the road. I can say that more than 60% of the repair work had been achieved when I used the road earlier this month November. I believe that before long the entire road would be fixed. I must commend GEJ's government for a job well done. I have noticed that for over the past ten years no serious effort had been made by previous governments to repair the road. WELL DONE MR PRESIDENT.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi Wins Africa Person Of The Year By Forbes Magazine by bigdoo: 2:55pm On Nov 29, 2011
Well let's not forget that international recognition and being given awards are determined by the power and connections for lobby.  As far I'm concerned Sanusi is the worst CBN governor that Nigeria has ever had.  He is out of touch with the people and with the government.  His policies like establishment of Islamic banking, devaluation of the Naira and minmal withdrawal of money from banks by customers are silly to me and make no sense.  But I think that he has connections in high places, who are singing his praises and lobbying for his awards.  I am not his fan and I don't like his policies.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi Wins Africa Person Of The Year By Forbes Magazine by bigdoo: 2:45pm On Nov 29, 2011
Importation of refined oil from overseas did not start with GEJ's regime.  But so long as this happened in the past with former presidents of Nigeria nobody criticised them and nobody saw that it was wrong to do so.  But now that the government is trying to reverse the trend many people have found it necessary to criticise GEJ.  I can say that although I don't support some of the policies of GEJ's government such as removal of fuel subsidy, his regime has accomplished a lot more than Yaradua's government achieved in three wasted years of Yaradua's government yet nobody found it necessary to criticise his weak and inactive governmen talk less about other former Nigerian presidents before Yaradua.
PoliticsRe: South-east PDP Endorses Fuel Subsidy Removal by bigdoo: 3:01am On Nov 29, 2011
If GEJ thinks that he would take a short-cut to fix Nigeria's economic downturn by punishing innocent poor people who voted him to power then he has bitten more than he can chew because there would be massive protests, which could see him out of power. I thought that GEJ had something good for Nigerians but I only found out that he simply lacks the competence to rule Nigeria. He should resign and hand over to Sambo.
PoliticsRe: Why Must Buhari Be The President For Nigeria To Be Good? by bigdoo: 7:17pm On Nov 28, 2011
Buhari is not fit to rule Nigeria.  He is a tribalist and an Islamic fundamentalist.  He should aspire to rule his state as governor where he is free to establish Sharia rule.  He does not stand a chance to rule Nigeria again.  He should be thankful to his Allah that he once ruled Nigeria by overthrowing a civilian government or else his name would have never been written in Nigerian history.  Ruling a nation like Nigeria in the 1980’s by force in a military government is quite different from getting elected democratically in a free and fair election in Nigeria of today.  Buhari should say goodbye to Nigerian politics having found out more than once that he is not and will never be the people’s favourite.
PoliticsRe: South-east PDP Endorses Fuel Subsidy Removal by bigdoo: 6:45pm On Nov 28, 2011
It surprises me to hear that any right-thinking Nigerian would support the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria.  As at today that is the only benefit the common man derives from being called a Nigerian, a country so rich and blessed with oil and gas.  Can anybody please tell me how much a litre of fuel will cost when or if fuel subsidy is removed.  I believe one litre of fuel could cost anything around N200 –N300 per or more.  How would that impact positively on the lives of the common people and masses in Nigeria?  I think that anybody supporting removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria should go for a complete psychiatric examination.  How positively would removal of fuel subsidy affect the price of transportation, food items etc?

I just don’t seem to get this stupid argument in favour of removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria.  I don’t live permanently in Nigeria but I visit Nigeria very often.  On the average any time I am in Nigeria I spend a minimum of N2000 to fuel my cars each day and also a minimum of N1000 for my generators.  That implies that I must spend a minimum of N3000 a day, that is for about 45 litres on fuel products and that makes it a monthly expense of N90000 per month for me in one month alone.  During my last visit to Nigeria, I spent four months and that left me with a non-negotiable and compulsory, minimal expenditure of at least N360, 000 on fuel for the period I stayed in Nigeria.  Sometimes I do spend up to N3000 to fuel my cars in a day.

Now if fuel subsidy is removed and let’s say that a litre of fuel costs N200, I should be spending at least N9000 per day.  If a litre of fuel costs N300, then I will spend N13500 per day.  This would amount to N270000 – N405000 per month.  How does this impact on the lives of many Nigerians who earn the minimum wage of N20000 per month.  Undoubtedly this action by GEJ administration would unleash the highest degree of suffering, pain, agony and unrest in Nigeria.  This would also make GEJ government the most unpopular in the entire history of Nigeria.  I know that in a country like UK a litre of unleaded petrol costs about £1.4, that’s about N365 but workers in UK earn a lot more than workers in Nigeria.  Even the unemployed in UK are paid £200 per month, which is about N52000.  Besides there are various forms of public transport, which are very affordable and highly efficient.  Also primary and secondary school pupils and students don’t pay for their transportation as they have a special bus pass.  The same applies to elderly people, retired people and those in very low incomes.  University students get 20% rebate on their transportation costs for buses and trains.

Are we going to copy the developed world when we are nowhere near to them in governance, transparency, accountability and provision of social security?  I am surprised to learn that GEJ knows those who have been benefitting from fuel subsidy for a long time but does not know how to stop them from reaping such benefits and how to get such individuals to pay back to the country all the money they have been amassing for a long time and possibly put them in jail.  Instead GEJ turns to the poor, innocent Nigerians who voted overwhelming for him to champion their course only to find themselves woefully disappointed in him and his government.

Regrettably I am one of the people who spoke in support of the election of GEJ as president of Nigeria but right now I feel very pissed off with some of his policies.  His move to create nine new universities, when the existing ones are underfunded and incapable of producing graduates of international standard was all politically motivated.  Also his move to set a minimum wage of N18000, followed by the devaluation of the Naira by CBN governor Sanusi and his proposal to remove fuel subsidy in Nigeria, which could make Nigeria uninhabitable for many Nigerians amount to a sham.  GEJ should look inwards and find out those fat cats in Nigeria who have made so much money while they were in government or while they had government connections, those politicians who are presently getting fat pay packets while other Nigerians get only N18000 per month (about £70 0r $110).  What I expected him to do first in office would have been to build more prisons or to expand existing ones, then start by putting all the looters of our national treasury in jail where they belong.  It is high time GEJ embarks on a revolutionary move to make him look serious in the eyes of the masses.  We need to see a lot of action or else GEJ might not last long as president.  The only areas I have noticed some degree of success about GEJ’s government, which the common Nigerian has benefitted include the reduction of fuel scarcity and very slight improvement in electricity supply.

GEJ needs to wake up to the needs of the people who voted him into power but who are now suffering for the mistake they made by electing him as president of the federal republic of Nigeria, a position he never expected to occupy if not for the masses who put all their trust in him.  GEJ has been unable to contain the wave of violence and terrorism in the country and does not seem to have any solution for the continuous and unchecked level of corruption in the country.  But all he wants is to destroy the Nigerian economy by removing fuel subsidy in a country where there is no social security and the only thing the common man and woman enjoys equally with the rich is the low price of petrol.  My advice to GEJ is never to attempt removing the subsidy.  He should look elsewhere to find money to fix the country’s economy or he should step down for lack of ideas, courage, ability,  and transparency to rule a country like Nigeria in this century.

I see no end to this act of indiscriminate and reckless bombing aimed at people from non Hausa and Fulani origin.  My humble advise is that those non Hausa and Fulani people living in Borno state and in fact all parts of northern Nigeria should make arrangements to relocate to their states of origin or other states apart from northern Nigeria including Abuja.  I will never live in any part of northern Nigeria no matter whatever incentives, interests or benefits that would accrue from those areas.  I will also never invest my money in any part of northern Nigeria including Abuja.  I do not even want to visit those areas for any reason.  I will never forget what my parents suffered in the north when the civil war broke out.  I have since then made up my mind that I will never have anything to do with the north.

It is really a shame to see how people particularly people from the east rush to Abuja and other states in the north forgetting too soon what they experienced in the north in the period leading to the Nigerian/Biafran civil war.  I won't feel sorry for any southerner or easterner who loses his or her life in the north because such people simply do not want to learn from the mistakes of their fathers and mothers or relatives and friends who faced horror at the hands of those cannibals called northerners.  Wel,l I don't have powers to split Nigeria but as long as things remain as they are, I will never visit or invest in any part of the north, not now and never.

Can the president GEJ please relieve Mr Sanusi of his post as CBN governor ASAP.  He has nothing to offer Nigerians.  The naira has become weakened since he took over office from Prof Soludo who was capable of making the naira much stronger during his reign as CBN governor.  I was highly disappointed when Mr Sanusi was given an award for good performance.  I fully understand that most people get awards based on their connections and their power to lobby and not on merit.  If not how can such a dullhead get such an award?
Car TalkRe: Vehicles From Unauthorised Dealers Won't Be Registered - Lagos by bigdoo: 2:24pm On Jul 02, 2011
Even in UK and other developed countries, private car sellers exist and so do registered car dealers. People in developed countries are free to display their cars for sale as they like. If such a proposal is true, it will only make life more difficult for importers and buyers. However I trust Nigerians for always finding a way around any problem in the country but sometimes the overall and cumulative effect will be aiding more corruption.

PoliticsRe: Juju Scare In Aso Rock! by bigdoo: 2:45pm On Jun 29, 2011
I feel that Juju exists and works as well.  However Juju power comes from the devil and not from God.  Therefore Juju can only be used to achieve evil goals and objectives.  There are evidences to prove that Juju exists.  Even the bible confirms that there are evil forces and powers but they don't come from God.  However the power of God is greater than that of the devil, but the problem is that some of us don't know how to invoke God to work in our favour.  There are very strong men and women of God who are gifted in different aspects and who can fight evil forces although there are a lot more false prophets who claim to be men and women of God but indeed have no powers to influence anything.  GEJ should consult with the best spiritualist and men and women of God if he suspects juju attacks on him, afterall he has the resources to do so.  Judging from how bitter many people from certain tribes in Nigeria feel about his success at the presidential polls, I won't be surprised that such people would be going after him by every means available to them.  No wonder we have had escalation of bombings and killings since before and after his election as president.  Most Nigerians are not interested in seeing our great nation move forward, all they want is to have things go their own way even if the whole nation is worse for it.

I don't think that fighting juju with juju could be the solution because it is said that a family that is at war with itself cannot stand.  I might be wrong but this is just my personal opinion.  My personal experience suggest that juju and juju power exist.   I interviewed some relevant people when I wanted to venture into some types of businesses in Nigeria and the advice I got was that I should get myself fully prepared to battle evil forces that I would encounter.   Personally there have been instances and occasions when I felt that I had demonic attacks on me.  I felt that there was a juju attack on me when I was working with a well known and viable Federal government parastatal in Nigeria, when I suddenly fell ill and started vomitting as soon I landed from my flight at one of our airports on an official duty with another colleague from my office.  From that moment I lost so much weight and became very ill.  I did not recover from that illness for more than one year until I left that job and came to UK.  Without any medical consultation or treatment I regained my lost weight and became healthy again without any treatment.  The fact is that I contested my position with other candidates from another tribe who felt that it was their birth-right to hold that position for the fact that the office was located in their geographic zone and because they had the personnel manager and directors as their brothers and sisters.  They were however disappointed when they panel of about 10 persons decided that I performed best at the interview for the post and offered me the job.  So believe me there are evil forces out there and Nigerians use them a lot.
BusinessRe: Expect Hard Economic Decisions - Jonathan. Why? by bigdoo: 1:43pm On Jun 28, 2011
GEJ cannot afford to make life more unbearable for the ordinary Nigerians who gave him their mandate and elected him as their president. He should look elsewhere for the resources he needs to revamp our economy. He cannot afford to bite the fingers that fed him. That would amount to political suicide for him. He should recover all the money that past and present politicians and government office holders have stolen. That would be more than enough to revamp our economy. He should give EFCC more powers and autonomy in handling cases, making arrests and prosecuting all convicted people. He should look for a more capable person to be chairperson of EFCC and he should build more prisons.
Foreign AffairsRe: Ghana GDP Growth Accelerates To 23% by bigdoo: 4:18pm On Jun 23, 2011
It is only in the context of Africa that Nigeria is considered a giant in terms of population. Compared to many countries in Asia, which have been governed far better than Nigeria and are more successful than Nigeria, one can only see that the problem of Nigeria is not with the size or the number of tribes or ethnic groups. Our problem is that some Nigerians have more money than most countries in the world and this money that could have been used for the benefit of all and sundry. What is the population of Nigeria compared with India, China, Japan or even USA? Are these countries not better managed and more successful than Nigeria despite the fact that they also have different tribes and races amongst them.
Foreign AffairsRe: Ghana GDP Growth Accelerates To 23% by bigdoo: 2:00pm On Jun 23, 2011
No doubt Ghana would soon become a model for Africa as I had predicted since the country began oil exploration.  They would soon make Nigeria look like nothing and it would take just a few years for them to accomplish that.  I see them achieving vision 20-20-20 even though they have not been making any noise about it.  And Ghanains are very passionate about their hatred for Nigerians.  I have interacted with them outside Nigeria in foreign countries and I know fully well that they hate Nigerians like hell.  I pity Nigerian when Ghana truly becomes the real "Giant of Africa", which I foresee to happen in very near future.

Shame to Nigeria and all our rulers both past and present for making us look like a joke in the eyes of the whole world.  Other citizens from different developed and developing countries should be fighting to come to Nigeria to seek greener pastures if our leaders and rulers had used the nation's money for the development of the nation.  Rawlings cleaned by eliminating all the corrupt elements in the country and created an atmosphere for a new beginning and prosperity for Ghana.  Nigeria needs to do just that and we need such a change or revolution that would completely eliminate all the looters of our national treasury and using all their lootings to revamp our dead economy.  Only such a move would bring about a complete change and turnaround in our country's fortune and put a smile on the face of the common man.

Nigeria likes to make too much noise and create so many organisations, legislation and projects all of them aimed at achieving nothing but to embezzle government money.  One thing that I have heard too often that Nigeria has in abundance is "potential".  Nigeria has got the potential to do this or that.  Nigeria has got the potential to become this or that.  When all those potentials that Nigeria has would be put to use becomes a question that has no answer.  A BIG SHAME TO US AS A NATION.
PoliticsRe: Abuja Bombing: Investigators Suspect ‘internal Connivance’ by bigdoo: 2:29pm On Jun 22, 2011
I feel that MEND, Boko Haram, Massob etc are just the beginning of what we are yet to see in Nigeria unless equity and justice are given to every citizen of the country as a right and not as a privilege. There is no justification for senators and other political office holders to earn millions of naira per month and several millions as allowances, while looting billions of naira by way of over-inflated contracts, useless and wasteful official travels and travel allowances. While some Nigerians take home just N18,000.00 per month to feed their families, pay rent and school fees for their children. There is no justification for our rulers (past and present) to live in the most expensive houses in the world with air strips, golf courses, flying private jets in addition to having their own commercial aircrafts and owning almost all the big companies in the country. The degree of disequilibrium, disparity and social gap is astronomical.

Disgruntled Nigerians can no longer wait and see their future destroyed by our greedy and insensitive politicians, so I believe that the worst is yet to come and there is little or nothing the government can do about it unless there is a complete reversal of the trends and developments in bribery, corruption and abuse of government offices in Nigeria, we shall all wake up to find a burning Nigeria one day.

PoliticsRe: Bomb Blast At Police Force Headquarters In Abuja? by bigdoo: 7:09pm On Jun 16, 2011
I am worried about the safety of GEJ because these northern hooligans are hell bent on doing everything possible to ensure that Nigeria does not move ahead just because Buhari did not win the presidential election.  The north was very quick to build a new capital at Abuja because they feel that they will have an upper hand in controlling the affairs of things as Abuja is part of the north.  The northern terrorists could not try something like this if the capital of Nigeria was still in Lagos, neither would they try such a thing if the capital of Nigeria was to be in Onitsha.  As far as the north is concerned it is either a northerner as president of Nigeria or else there would be anarchy.  Well, Nigeria as a nation has gone beyond that sort of intimidation, arrogance and stupidity exhibited by the north and they cannot rule Nigeria by force.

If I were GEJ, there are two options to end all these endless menace and disruptions to his good-intentioned government.  He should either build another national capital in the eastern part of the country anywhere between Benin - Onitsha and Port Harcourt.  Nigeria could do with three capitals at Lagos, Abuja and another one in the eastern part of the country.  Any elected president could decide which capital he or she would like to operate from depending on how safe he or she feels with any of the three capitals.  Alternatively, Nigerians should hold a concensus on breaking up the country into two or three parts and let the north be on their own.  I personally do not want anything to do with people who reason like animals.  If the Yorubas want to be on their own, they should also be allowed to do so and the east should be able to sort themselves out.  I think that we can no longer continue to tolerate all this Hausa/Fulani oligarchy.  It is time to call a spade a spade.
PropertiesRe: Is It Financially Wise To Have Your Own Home? by bigdoo: 6:15pm On Jun 16, 2011
Cinzo, you sound as if relocating to ones village is really a bad thing.  Sometimes it has turned out to be the best thing that ever happenned to some people.  I have a cousin who lived almost all his life in the north.  He inherited a house from his late father and lived most of his life in the north after his primary and secondary education.  He made very little or no impact at home, ie his village and nobody even knew him or his children.  But he returned to his village in the east after one of the riots in the north.  He sold the house he inherited from his father in the north and I can tell you that he and his family are doing quite better at home, right in the village than they ever did when they were in the north.

I have been to many cities in Nigeria and seen the type of environment most people from other states who migrated to the so-called cities live in and some of them are very deplorable.  On the other hand, many people are doing very well in the villages and enjoying better life and eating the best(organic) food.  I do live in a western world right now but have no intention of returning back to Nigeria to live in a city so to say.  I am very comfortable living in my village and any nearby city or cities close to my town/village provided that I have all that it takes to make life worth living in those places.  However having my own buildings in those areas where I choose to live in is a pre-requisite.
PoliticsRe: Who Was Nigeria's "Best" Military Ruler/Dictator/Despot/Tyrant? by bigdoo: 3:06pm On Jun 13, 2011
Even though nothing is good about any military government, so no military government can be said to be good, better or best.  However I very much admire how Gowon handled the state of affairs in Nigeria during his government. He treated undergraduates as elites.  He gave them the best food for almost free of charge and all other fees were almost free.  When I entered the university (UNN) in 1977, I paid only 50 kobo for my three meals in a day, IE breakfast, lunch and dinner.  The quality of food we ate in those days were even better that what was served in 5 star hotels.  There was no need for any student to even buy any provisions as there was enough tea and beverages in the cafeterias and students were free to take as much as they liked with their flasks.  Sundays were special because every student had one quarter of a whole chiken served with ice cream etc.  Breakfast and lunch were no exceptions and life as an undergraduate was like living in paradise.  There was burseries, scholarships and vacation jobs for everybody, infact I did more than one vacation job every long vacation and I was swimming in good money including the money my dad gave me.  I was able to save money for my first car, which I bought after my NYSC orientation while I was an undergraduate.  In addition, I was able to buy all the things that made us feel like great students during my time such as a complete musical set and giant refrigerator, while I resisted the temptation of buying a car while still in the university as that could distract me from my studies.

I must tell you that life was sweetest in Nigeria under the regime of Gowon and I did not want to live abroad or school abroad for any reason because I would be missing the good time in Nigeria.  Things only began to fall apart after Gowon's regime.  Gowon has great passion for education, peace and unity for Nigeria more than any other past rulers so I think that Gowon was my best military ruler.

I warned you guys that Ohakim was a 419 operator before he was selected (not elected) as governor of Imo state. I knew very well that nothing good will ever come out of Ohakim's four wasted years of his government, for once a thief, always a thief. I believe that with Rochas Okorocha on the seat as governor of Imo state good things are going to happen and a wind of change for the better will sweep across Imo state. I am worried about the election of Hope Uzodimma as a senator representing Oru East LGA of Imo State. This is because Hope Uzodimma is also a 419 operator and shared the same office with Ikedi Ohakim as partners in the 419 business before Ohakim became governor. I feel very sorry for Oru East constituency as Hope Uzodimma (a renowned 419 operator) can never have anything good to deliver to people of Oru East LGA. I am sending this warning early enough and calling for his impeachment as soon as possible. I thought that the era of 419 operators is over in Nigeria or is Imo State still an exception?
