Elitist events adamsfeyisayo: Ondo state Governor, Arakurin oluwarotimi Akeredolu has commended the Motorsports community for staging the second edition of Ondo Rally in Akure, saying the government was impressed at the a Mountville of resources and passion the event brought to the state.
The governor said it was “pleasing to the see what young and independent minded indigenes of the state are doing; to support the tourism and sports initiative of the state with this event. We are proud of it and look forward to it getting bigger and also becoming a platform for deeper engagement with the youths.”
The rally managed by Work and Play debuted last year alongside a golf event with an off road event at Ilara-Mokin, outskirt of the state capital.
The 2018 edition, which held at the weekend, was an expanded version of the inaugural edition.
Speaking on the rally, coordinator of the event, Olumide Omolade, said the plan was to strategically position it as a tool to spike internal tourism and local economy in Akure annually.
According to him, “We intend to keep raising the bar annually in terms of value delivery and we hope to keep getting more motorsport enthusiasts down to Akure for the event and eventually establish the state as a major hub for the sport in the country.
“The potential is very huge for all parties and we hope to be able to help the state harness them; especially as the character of the sports fits perfectly to the potential our youth possess; speed, energy and fun. That is why they could relate with it,” he added.
Governor Akeredolu was also involved in an exhibition race with Chief Michael Adeojo, one of the Nigeria’s biggest car dealers.
In the super car category, Argo Raak emerged a new champion dethroning Antonio Sandouk, who raced with one of the signature cars of the event named ‘Tiger.’ He placed third behind Clement Falayi.
In the 1.8 engine category that debuted this year, Robson Omasheye crossed the finish line ahead of Fatimeh Taiwo and Peter Makris.
In the off road race that flagged off the two-day event, Muyiwa Akintola retained his crown, returning a smashing 12.01minutes on a 13.5km, while Peter Makris picked the runner up spot, arriving in a time of 13.15 minutes.

Over heating wheels which burns out the brake pads faster than you would think. Not good for flood prone areas ThatGirlAda: Good morning all.
I'm thinking of buying a 2007/2008 Infiniti FX45. I've always loved that car.
Is there anyone that has used (or still uses) this car? What's the maintenance like? I know it's a V8, so it will gulp fuel. I don't mind that aspect.
Is it a reliable car?
I await your honest reviews.
Thanks.

I don't understand ....you mean I buy my parents a gift for example, and I declare it a gift, because of that the courier company (to whom I paid $50) is at liberty not to get it delivered because its a gift and I can't charge them? No dear. There's an actual value of item and custom value ....both can't be the same. You declare the actual value to the courier and usually they would advise you to take an insurance if you wish to. You then declare the item as a gift to protect the recipient from custom duty. Most people make the mistake of declaring actual value 'gift' because they don't want to take an insurance on the item when advised by the courier. There's always a threshold of actual value the courier company would accept without insurance. So most people decide to go with 'gift' as actual value to escape this and because the courier cannot quantify the value of the 'gift' they are at no liberty to replace if stolen, damaged or lost in transit. 2kurupt: Point of correction, once it's declared as gift there's no more obligation on the part of the courier to replace your item if it goes missing or get damaged in transit. One can't really trust those boys at the docks you know.
Or do you really want to find out the hard way? |

Well that's why the duty to be paid is high but who says you can't buy insurance on a goods declared as gift? Does it mean that once its a gift, it can get lost and the courier not under any obligation to deliver it safely? NO ....they owe you that service! Customs know how much these devices cost even if you put am at $1 they are not senseless not to understand what it cost. 1. You see Token Stand and you still believe this would free eh? Waiting to see when that alaye would take over the place 2. Water the best option after pooing jooooore ....who will foot the cost of tissue and air freshener naaa? AutoReportNG: For those who are in Lagos, especially those that ply the normal 3rd Mainland Bridge especially the Iyana Oworo BRT Park and Berger, you must have noticed a public toilet that stands out from the park. Well, according to our investigations, we later got to know that the toilet was made possible courtesy of The Lagos State Government and JCDecaux Africa.
JCDecaux Africa is the company in charge of LATIS, the new digital signboard you see around Lagos and its environs. According to our findings, JCDecaux toilets have been in France for quite a while before the introduction in Lagos, Nigeria.
AutoReportNG was in Iyana Oworo and we decided to use the restroom and the mobile toilet comes to mind and we decided to satisfy our curiosity.
These are our observations when we got there...
1. The environment is well maintained, neat and the security in charge is friendly and very jovial, a very rare trait you use in securities these days.
2. The toilet is free for all to use and no money was charged.
3. The surroundings are made in such a way that you can easily come in and out but we wish the place can be expanded a bit to accommodate more people.
4. Even though there are two toilets stationed at Iyana Oworo, we noticed that only one was open for use so there is a queue, no reason was given for this.
5. Inside the toilet, the toilet is well lighted, there is enough space to pee, poo and where to hang your bag for those that are ladies.
6. The wash-basin is automatic but this calls for a serious concern for those that are not used to sensor washing as the water-basin only operates when your hands move closer to the tap.
7. We noticed that the toilet is automatic: What this means is that after you have finished using the toilet, the toilet automatically flushes itself and wash the floor and disinfect the place all within the space of 3-5mins.
8. As much as we commend the management for a job well done but we want to recommend that the place should have tissue and air freshener as we noticed that both were missing were Iyana Oworo station. Not all feel comfortable using water immediately after using the toilet and that's why we will recommend tissue.
We seek the permission of the security man and we are able to take some pictures, you be the judge.
