Baba ..brace up and take that flight out except you are one of those '....favour me and my family' At 48 start angling towards managerial roles. Take more courses and upskill to match your new environment. All the best Usefulsense: This is my story. Please advice.
I sent my wife to Australia in 2021 on student visa.
She has invited us, myself and our children aged 12 and 9 and our visa is out. I have also paid like 6 months fees for my children school which was a requirement for the visa.
Owing to her performance at her work place, the company she works for has promised to sponsor for PR. Infact, the process just began and we are sure of having the PR.
I am currently 48 and won't be able to support my family working in Nigeria. Wify has encouraged me that we will be fine that abroad is meant for 2 people.
My only constraint is my age, hence my question. If you are in my shoe, will you travel?
By the way, I work for a private firm here in Nigeria and you know what it is working for a family company. |

Agriculture › Re: Rice Mills In Nigeria Closedown After India’s Ban On Rice Exports by bigtt76(f): 1:11pm On Aug 31, 2023 |
So why would the local millers decide to shutdown at a time when they should be angling to make a kill on the patronage they will be getting? I'm confused. Botragelad: Alright, mate, let me explain what this news is saying in a simple way. It's about how India's ban on exporting some types of rice has affected Nigeria and other countries that depend on importing rice from India.
Basically, India decided to stop sending out non-basmati rice, which is a cheaper and more common kind of rice, to keep the prices low in their own country. This means that Nigeria and other West African countries can't get enough rice from India to meet their local demands. Nigeria has been trying to produce more rice locally, but it still needs to import some rice to make up for the gap.
Now, because of the shortage of rice from India, the local rice farmers and millers in Nigeria are also struggling. They can't get enough rice to process and sell, and they have to deal with other problems like border closure, sanctions, and bandits. This has caused many of them to shut down their businesses and lose their income. As a result of all this, the price of rice in Nigeria has gone up a lot in the past few months.
Now, to answer your question about whether or not it is the raw rice from India they mill in Nigeria and brand locally produced rice, the answer is no. Nigeria imports mainly Indica white rice from India, which is already milled and polished. Nigeria also produces its own local rice, such as Ofada, Abakiliki, and Lake Rice, which are different from the Indian rice in terms of quality and nutrition. The local rice is milled by local millers who add value to the product and create employment. Nigeria does not import raw rice from India and repackage it as local rice. That would be considered dishonest and illegal. That's my little idea! |

An agency brought you in on Skilled Worker Visa and you are looking for care sponsorship? Not clear about this. Etsetemi88: Greetings everyone. I am in the UK, came in with my family last month. Good stuff. So even though you have the cash to pay off at once, form the habit of spending it through credits and loans just to build your score. For example using my own experience, instead of me using my debit card for regular shopping, I use my credit card and use my balance in my debit card to pay off my credit card. This way, I'm seen as having utilised credit facility and paying it off timely. Here in the youkay, credit and loans are a necessity even if you can afford to pay cash. Currys failed because no record of you having been given a credit or loan before and you paying back. profemebee: thanks, i just checked my clearscore and i have 740/1000.. and it says it is Stable..
I don't do loans or debts as i always normally pay off once without any credit, but decided to use the Currys finance as a first-time.. and it failed.. |

Your credit history >>>> your credit score. Credit score is only a prediction of your credit worthiness and not an actual reality of you being reliable to be afforded a loan facility, they (Bank or Currys) still have to confirm this. Not having a loan or debt is not a good thing so to speak ....having them and paying regularly is better. Also, note that Currys (for example) may rely on other credit reports aside from Experian. I would suggest you sign up to Totally Money, Credit Karma or Clearscore to get the report from other CB. All the best. profemebee: This credit score thing is funny...
My Experian score is 998/999, and i was still refused Currys financing service when they did a soft check.
I really don't understand why, even with over 3 years address and no loans or debts or anything..
Can anyone explain why it might have failed?
I'm asking because I hope this doesn't mean a hard credit check for a mortgage won't fail me? |

don't mind her, I just de laugh when reading it cos I'm subscribed to Clearscore app and despite all their hoodwinking me with available credit cards as do others....I know say levels never reach for me to obtain them cos I'm financially disciplined. Anything I cannot afford to pay cash for, I don't use my CC. I pay with my CC to build my credit history and not to splurge on delayed money pleasures it offers ....may be not now. Lexusgs430: In her case, it was pure greed...... Because they offer you credit, does not necessarily mean you should take it all........
Did she have to buy a £12,000 vehicle (that she clearly could not afford)....... What happened to buying a vehicle of £2000.........
I get offered loans on the average of twice a week (I simply delete the emails).... Also car finance deals, I simply look the other way........ 😜
Financial discipline is key and very important, in all you do........ 🤣🙄

First have you registered to be on the electoral roll? Very important in building your credit history. Do you have a contract phone that you post pay? You start having credit score recorded for you immediately you start making payments on your bills. Signing up on Totally Money, Experian and other credit reporting platforms might help too. Good thing you can report your rents as well... Will share the link below for you to sign up for free after doing your due diligence on same. Use the following to report your rent payment to report the rent payment to credit agencies. 2. Credit Ladder sign up using my referral https://www.creditladder.co.uk/join/4kN2nMj0DmjpABDL), 3. Been here since 2nd week in June on a dependent visa. Not started working yet. Have an account with Lloyd, Monzo and Revolut. Just rented an apartment this month though and haven’t started paying any bills. Just want to know if anyone has an idea of when one can start having credit history |

There are other factors checked by the CC companies not necessarily your credit score. For example if you are registered to vote in an area, how long you've lived there, frequency of bills paid (credit history) earned from paying for example utilities, council tax, phone contract etc. They also want to know you are earning income in the country. The number of years don't matter really. Jaylord11: Hello House,
I am trying to get a credit card from American Express but they rejected my application. I have an 808 credit score from Experian. When I was filling out the form, I was asked to fill in 3years address in the UK but I have only stayed for 1 year. I would like to ask if that was the reason for the rejection and if there is a way around it. Thank You.
Waiting for your responses. |

Be like you be feminist eh 🤭😂 Anyway, my suggestions is based on the context that since the OP mentioned the benevolence of his brother in law to him and his family, it only makes sense put of courtesy to buy in both their names a gift to them. Though OP didn't mention if the in-law on his own could afford to own a car but I believe he should and if he wanted or the wife requested, he could easily get it for her. Now for the wife's brother to now go behind and buy a car for his sister and in her name could be seen by her husband as underscoring his capacity to provide for his family. You know men can be jealous at times. Just to avoid unnecessary wahala ... buying in their name prevents that with the hope that the husband would read between the lines and say ok - babe you take this car and be using to commute to work. Case close. If you feel this is not a good option then.... I'm not in a position to debate it any longer with you 😘 Farfalla: How will it cause family problems? If a car will facilitate her transport to work, where will the family problems come from? |

Ooh I'm aware of it, I was only shocked at the boldness of the questions 😂 Ralphlauren: I'm surprised this arranged marriage is news to you and some people on this thread. Lol.
Go to X (formerly known as twitter), you will see people shamelessly advertising/soliciting for "dependents" under this "sham" marriage agreement.
If its that bad on X, now imagine other platforms.
The current abuse of UK immigration system is soooooo bad. I have never seen it as bad as this before. |
