Clearing at the border is wat matters. Customs at both Coutonu and Seme would have no record of your pre-registered car and so anoda case open that |

Thanks dear. I understand every bit but in the case where your freighter is not communicating to you the importer/customer the true situation of things, how are supposed to know? If agents are not allowed in, importers won't too so it all boils down to the freighter giving us that info. Still the Nigerian way of doing things shaaa. One would have expected NAHCO or SAHCOL to license private stevedoring firms to supply all the handling tools required to complement theirs but as usual, one company wan chop all the money naaa We go de watch naa but God nor go forgive those people wey wan spoil we Christmas so Happy Sunday to you dear. TheMadame: ^^ My dear you have to imbibe a lot of patience. I will explain to you why- 1.There is serious congestion at the airport. Goods are strewn across the tarmac as far as the eye can see. 2. Agents are not allowed into the bulk breaking area any more. In the old system agents could go to the tarmac collate their importers cargo and forklift them into the sheds. No more of that. You have to wait for Nahcco or Sahcol staff to do it at their own pace. 3. Duty must be paid. Anything you paid on cargo before is now doubled times two. So if you were paying 100 k before expect to pay 200k. 4. Demurrage negotiations are on going between agents and the handling companies. Your agents are really battling this matter so that there is a reduction of the demurrage. 5. The Customs are on ground. They were on duty yesterday saturday and will be on duty on sunday, but they can only examine and release what is brought into the shed from the tarmac by Nahcco and Sahcol fork lifts. This is why Olanrewaju was insisting that the handlers need enough facilities and equipment to handle cargo from the tarmac to the sheds. The bitter truth is that these handlers DO NOT have enough forklifts to do the job and they have consistently refused to up grade. Goods are being cleared but at a slow speed because of lack of enough equipment. |

You only need to register once and that should cover your other banks. The system might have noticed you registering twice resulting in your not getting the number. I did once at Zenith Bank after FCMB struggled to register me for like 3 weeks going. I since got my number through Zenith but not the card yet. topfally75: Is there anybody facing any issue with the Bank Verification Number...please share your issues and how it was solved. Seun Pressing issues abound in the country yet will not make front page ona nor de try o! Must we beg for important stuff on Front Page? Ok naaaa ...maybe we should be getting updates on Maheeda naa Anyway .....I think Nairaland should start looking towards commercializing the Front Page just like Google and Yahoo now does with our emails - Sponsored Posts. I guess that way more money can be made and important posts sponsored and paid for will remain on the front burners until such a time when it s payment expires. What do you think? |

I'm really trying to be patient dear BUT for how long can this patience last? Stuff that was scheduled to leave US on the 5th or at most 8th of November 2014 did not leave until 14th or 15th of November 2014 too much conflicting dates of departures. Ok ....finally got the SMS to make payment which I did, followed up with calls for the lady there to confirm my payment no way according to her "until the goods arrive at the Lagos warehouse". Imagine in this time and age of real-time payments until I got wind of this issue. Now tell me, as a customer, is it my duty to follow up on issues such as this or the person offering the service updates me the customer? If not for my following this thread I never would have been notified by my shippers. I exercised patience all through the unfolding events, I never called or emailed my shipper until two days ago and believe me .....I'm yet to get a feedback or response from them to my email you now see why I say this thing is just a typical Nigerian way of handling things? Right now I'm online battling another shipper to update my received items to enable me ship out on time and hopefully take delivery before the break ....dem de post me left and right. We can be a truly great country if only we can set our ways of doing things right. I would wonder what the Customs are doing if right now as I type they are not at the sheds clearing the backlogs their foolishness caused, they can as well run shifts rather than sit all day and all night on Badagry express road disturbing travelers and extorting N500.00 Believe me ....I just taya for this country o! Na we de take our hands destroy destiny. r231: But you know the true position of things and also you know those shipments are not going to come out overnight as they have just opened.
Please be patient |

This is what I'm complaining about. I have two shippers yet NONE has deemed it fit to send me and their other customers any email notification assuring us all not only about the safety of the packages but also if they've started clearing precisely.
We all prayed for this thing to be over but when you don't carry along the customers then its very bad.
To all shippers & agents here ...please and please let us your customers know what is happening. Most of us may not be around to spend the Christmas break here in Lagos so not telling us the true position of things affects our ability to plan and also it will impact on our doing business with you all in the future if you disappoint us all on our Christmas deliveries to our clients. |
Family › She Was Lucky, She Didn't Bleed, I Bled: Uganda's 'monster Maid' Speaks Out by bigtt76(op): 5:10pm On Dec 05, 2014 |
Imagine @bolded ...the lawyer needs beating too Jolly Tumuhiirwe, a Ugandan nanny who has been dubbed the 'monster maid', has spoken out about the events around the tragic beating of the child she was supposed to take care of, 18-month-old Arnella.
Tumuhiirwe held up a pink t-shirt spotted with blood and according to Ugandan Online.net, she was not aware there was a video camera in the house. She was apparently shocked when Eric Kamanzi, the father of the toddler, started beating her, which lead to her opening a police case.
Ugandan Online.net adds that Tumuhiirwe sustained serious injuries, including welts on her back, from being caned and was quoted as saying: 'Arnella was lucky, she did not bleed, but I bled.'
Meanwhile Ugandan human rights lawyer Ladislaus Rwakafuzi has offered to represent Tumuhirwe in court according to Zambia’s The Post newspaper.
“I would gladly try to help her because the world has turned against her. She needs legal counsel; the constitution presumes her innocent till [proven] guilty despite all that we have seen,” Rwakafuzi said.
Rwakafuzi expressed doubts about the video’s authenticity, saying, “I wonder how a person weighing 80kg can step on a baby and there is no physical harm on the back.”
His offer comes after civil society organisations distanced themselves from Tumuhirwe, saying they couldn’t offer aid, given the nature of her offense.
Federation of Uganda Women Lawyers (FIDA) chairperson Eunice Musiime said, “We condemn in the strongest terms any torture of children. Instead, we are considering supporting the parents to pursue justice. We want to clear the air. There was speculation that FIDA was involved and yet we are not.”
Rwakafuzi previously defended the July 2010 Kampala bomb suspects.

I strongly believe so too doesn't make sense removing one man and replacing him yet the status quo or bone of contention remains. Na God go save us all from these crooks in uniform MAITEMA: This whole Olanrewaju episode may have been a ruse after all. Seems to me that customs' game plan has always been about doubling their Duty, which importers and clearing agents under the circumstance have seemingly been cornered into accepting and paying. |
