thebigkendo: @robert Pls Like how much on d average does 1 need in camp?
If you won't eat camp food, but must eat 3 (or maybe 4 times a day), if you would buy all your stuff n kits n co in the mammy market there, and if you are the flexing type, and you would buy books and souvenirs carry money plus ATM's go o!! I had 20k on me on the 1st day and had to visit ATM to collect another after 4 days.
I spent 7 days in total and used up more than 40k

joy86: @bigx....just count yourself as one of d lucky ones...@super1759..well said,that is typical Asaya camp 4 u.cheers
That's what I meant (I'm a lucky person though, by the way), that its mostly random except maybe you want to bribe someone which I didn't bother doing cos I never planned to stay in the state, What OP said is not necessary, that's just what the soldiers and camp officials use to psyche people to participate in their un-necessary "drills"

After-all what a corper would see as good posting might be a horrible choice in the eyes of the official so??

If you need to loose weight and have fun though, fire-down, if not, beer is available 24-7 at mammy grin
Car Talk › Re: The Low-tech $6,000 Car Made For Africa by bigx(m): 8:41am On Jul 01, 2012
We are only good at complaining, when they bring the high tech ECU this, sensor that cars what do our mechanics tell u? They destroy your car with quackery and tell u the 1998 version is "stronger" this sharp guy has seen all this things plus our horrible roads (which we complain aabout everyday aand NEVER do anything about and has created a solution) and people are here talking of slave trade, as for me, I'm tired of constantly replacing my car "legs".
Let them make the 15 pre-orders 16, I'm definitely buying!
NYSC › Re: Corpers Posted To Kogi State Let's Meet Here by bigx(m): 7:47am On Jun 30, 2012
Super1759: Bro camp in kogi is very interesting.when u get there.try ² go on time 2 stay in camp a.(They have 2 campps) make friends esp with the military and go wit enuf doe.also try participate in camp activities 4 u ² be enlisted and posted ² good places...safe
Totally unnecessary (the bolded) when I served, I stayed on camp for only a week, NEVER participated in anything for that week (was always in the pavillion) only returned on passing out day to collect posting letter and was posted to lokoja (the capital) while most active participants where posted to ogorimagongo and co.
All those things are not necessary.

9jauk: BUT GUY U KNOW THEY REASON ,A COUNTRY THAT IS GOVERN BY ROGUES U STILL THEY BELEIVE IN AM, W T F !!!
When you learn how to live in Nigeria, you'd learn to love it too, and is there any guarantee if you're given a chance to govern you won't become one of the "rogues" too? I know so many "clean" men who totally changed after winning elections. Sit down and reason please before typing.
If you, a Nigerian, believes the solution to your country's problems is running to another country where you would be treated like a second-class citizen who then would remain to solve the problems of your country?
Yes, Nigeriaa is dysfunctional, corrupt, dangerous, etc etc, but I was born 100% Nigerian.

pato405: UK !!!! stay away from UK. they demand money by all means necessary. they don't have any other means of generating money other than tax and fleecing visa fees. before you come into the UK, you think so highly of them..but when you get in, the high profile you hold them drops. since I came in, i've really been disappointed at them. they reek money from all angles. tax everything taxable, bills bills bills - water light telephone internet e.t.c. before you know it, the little money you are making goes back into their greedy system. angry angry angry angry angry. however, they are organised sha even to a fault. grin grin grin

so, think well before you move o! cool

Was posted to Kogi state (Kabba)

Got there by 4p.m or thereabouts,
Jumped all lines and completed registration in less than an hour grin
Collected my flat matress and kit (hid that in my bag for the first 3 days),
Ate bread and butter I bought along the road for dinner with beer from mammy
Slept till the soldiers started with their whistle by 5 a.m,
Went to mingle with newcomers in my mufti to avoid all the unnecessary, pointless drills,

The rest of the nysc is a different case altogether. grin
