He is enjoying his battery life as it is.

Will definitely move to miui 8. Just wanted to compare battery life of miui 7 and show the house it's still the same with what the other person posted with miui 8

sure but what happens when they Dont show up?
I will have to sort for other buyers, how many people will buy it at the premium price.

so I think it's fine asking how they want this to go.

At times like this is when you wish Nairaland had an escrow service.

Is both of you can get someone you can trust, that person will hold the money pending the time the phone lands.

That way you can be sure the buyer cannot change his mind

shooo! if I buy phone and the person no show nko? uhhmm
if you are going to use your money, just put a premium on the price..simple.
if yours not using your money, you can help for free or charge a token.

SOT on miui 7.5.3.0 was more than double of what you quoted. He was just saying that the SOT of his new rom was lower than he experienced in the previous version.

can someone here confirm SOT on 7.5.3 is more than double what I quoted above? or better still can you refer me to a link, cos all I have seen is within the range I quoted.

Baba don't update to this ROM o. I'm experiencing and elevated battery drain on it.
I'd advice you goto MIUI download site and download the MM recovery rom and update your device with or use the Fastboot rom.
Attached is my SOT

what SOT where you expecting?

from what I have read so far, SOT on WiFi is 9-10hrs, on mobile data 7-8hrs. this usually translates to about a full day of use or more for most people.

gaming brings down the SOT to 5-6hrs.

so pm not sure changing Rom will make ant significant difference

Good day Everyone. Please is there any way I can make my Redmi note2 witch on without pressing in power and volume buttons. My buttons are hard to press. Thanks

Try gravity screen app on playstore.

It will lock your phone whenever you put your phone on a table, in your pocket etc and will immediately activate your screen wherever you pick up your phone.

It works with some sensors such as proximity, gravity sensor etc.

So it may work that you If your sensors are OK

Thanks , but no mention of boot unlocker as widely referenced in this thread by many software flashers.

Bootloader unlock is not required if you're flashing to official rom

House, I ordered Redmi 3s from geekbuying on 13/11/16 and eventually pick it today from the Post Office.
However after booting it on, it indicated "No SIM"
I discovered the following:
- WiFi not working. Switches off immediately after being switched on.
- Bluetooth not functional.
- FM Radio not working
- Invalid IMEI - when I tired checking.
- The MUMI has 5 digits - vendor installation is likely here.
Please can this be attributed to software or hardware ?
What is the next step to take - pls help a brother here.

Most likely software, try and flash the original stable rom or do a factory reset to see if him head go correct

Used download method with fastboot ROM,
Already requested for unlocking of BL from Xiaomi to enable recovery flashing.

How long did it take for the unlock request to be granted by xiaomi and what was the reason you gave for unlocking the bootloader

hi.
how did you know he's on vendor rom from the screenshots?

a quick way

miui official roms are usually in 4 digit pattern eg x.x.x.x while most vendor roms are more than 4 digits.

his screenshot had 5 digits x.x.x.x.x

u are right but presently have chinese developer rom(version 29/12/16) on my redmi 3s (which is some days old now) at first i got my phone software brick the following day after receiving from post office by failing to disable dm–dm-verity after flashing twrp recovery. with some guide i was able to revive it with EDL MODE. now i have unlock my bootloader and have twrp reovery. yes its difficult if u are unable to exercise patient and made proper research b4 flashing anything on ur device. one of the safest way to flash rom (either official or unofficial) is to first unlock ur bootloader and have custom recovery (twrp recovery)on ur phone. note b4 u carry out this process its advicable to make a proper findings and u will also need a pc. yes my phone came with a vendor rom which is very boring asin when guy with dsame phone are busy enjoying latest android version, one will be stuck with a boring outdated vendor rom. due they are 2 type of andriod user, dose who made use of the phone d way d manufacturer wanted dem to(asin calls, message, videos music, chatting etc ) and dose who really wish to make the best out of their phone(asin to maximize the hidden potential of the phone ) by rooting flashing, customizing and overclocking or underclocking the phone cpu. but it comes with a price of either hard brick or soft brick, but all in all to me its fun.

Most times, it's a phase. You will soon discover that over time, those in your 2nd category , gradually metamorphose back to the first category.

Most of us started with serious flashing, tweaking and customizing our phones with all kinds of tweaks and custom roms, nowadays sef, I even hardly update apps on playstore talkless of installing xposed or custom roms.

Best I do now is root and install twrp for backup purposes. Sometimes if it ain't broke, why fix it

I specifically asked @Dexter247 to avoid it for now. I'm not sure if you read that well.

@ the bolded. The question remains why xiaomi failed to provide these official roms( as they usually do) on their website? If indeed these phones came shipped with official roms and vendors tampered with it, why did xiaomi not upload them on their server? Why did dey have to release an update to an existing official rom when the said official rom is not even available. People should have something they fallback to, in case they encounter problems.

Official stable and developer roms are available for the redmi 4 series.
