GrandMufti: Actually it's not a bug. Some countries are now doing away with 2g network signal. So they have only 3g upwards. If they Made the 2nd SIM to default to 2g, those countries will not be able to use the second SIM. That's the reason for the change. |

ABMC: It's because you've made your default internet to sim 1, that's why you so not have Apn setting for sim 2. Once you change your internet to SIM 2, Apn setting will appear on SIM 2 |

steevy: I'm Currently on stable rom 8.1.3.0 got the update notification this week. So far so good. Seems there's a slight improvement on battery, or maybe it's just cos I'm using 1sim now instead of 2sims. Got 2hrs extra SOT |

eraly: Strange, maybe it's all those accounts that have not been fully verified that have daily limit for naira spending. How did you open the account? From the bank or from social media/sms? |

There's this annoying bug I have noticed on my RN3SE. You launch an app, the app needs a permission, so you get a pop up asking if you should allow or deny. The frustratingly thing is that you can't choose 'allow' only deny responds. I have to manually go to miui security app to set permissions each time. Anyone noticed this big? How did you solve it? |

This is the like the 3rd time I'm seeing this 'suspected to be Indian hemp' really don't know why, but it sounds funny to me. It's like you taking a pack of cigarettes from a kid and saying you recovered a pack from him suspected to be a pack of cigarettes. It just sounds funny ![]() 4 Likes |

Anyone succesfully used a data only sim like ntel, smile etc on redmi note 3 special edition? I have not been able to get the phone to work with smile sim and a friend ntel sim, even though it supports the band and there's network coverage in my area Keep showing no network |

dukeo: Maybe it also depends on how frequent you have been purchasing from aliexpress apart from your account being old. If your account is 5 years and you've purchased just 1 item, it's not as good as an account that 3 years and has purchased items from 20 different sellers within that time span |

jboixxx: Good to know you solved the issue. But next time, the name of the folder should be downloaded_rom and not downloaded rom. That way, it updates immediately |

Ttalk: You couldn't have said it any better. My exact sentiments |

For those of us who like to keep things simple, not a fan of miui big icons and are not crazy about too much of customisation, I would recommend Microsoft's arrow launcher. Simplicity and productivity at its best ![]() Also improves battery life compared to miui launcher 1 Like

Gucciboss: Sometimes it may be useful for other apps. I use it to manage 2 apps from the same bank on my phone, which I wouldn't be able to do without the dual apps cos banks usually lock their app to a device. |

steevy: I know about that. Just wondering why they configured it like that by default |

steevy: No problem with fingerprint. No problem with network here. Mtn still on 4g full bars. The only thing I noticed is that sim 2 that I'm not using for browsing now stays constantly on 3g instead of edge. So I have sim 1 on 4g and sim 2 on 3g, I wonder why they changed it. 1 Like |

steevy: From the phone ![]() If your phone is telling you no update available, just change your location to another country Eg India, you search for update again and download. Change back location to Nigeria before rebooting. But you can download from miui site too 1 Like |

sanandreas: updated my RN3SE to 8.1.1.0 Haven't noticed any unusual battery drain. Still using up 10% battery per hour. I think a lot depends on how you updated. What I did.. . Made sure my battery was fully charged.. I used ampere app to confirm full charge cos when miui says full, Battery is not actually full. Then I leave the charger plugged all through the update process. After update, I restart the phone several times, like 4 times before I start using it. Then finally I unplug the charger to stop charging the phone. I think this helps in battery calibration. 2 Likes |

Worksunlimited: I think they have reduced the bandwidth allocated for 3g to free up bandwidth for 4g. Even mtn 3g is nothing to write home about now since 4g came out. |

fibonacci2526: Battery usage is sorted into 2 categories.. .hardware and apps. The 58% is for the screen usage out of the overall hardware usage of battery. Example.. .. I have used 10% of battery, so my battery indicator shows 90% remaining. Out of the 10% battery used,, apps used 40% of it, while hardware used 60%. So it's possible that out of the 60% used by hardware, screen took 58% while the rest of the hardware took 2%. |

Guys, I really don't understand what is happening o. I was on 8.0.5.0 on my redmi note 3 se. Got an update of 1.2gb yesterday. The update had no description whatsoever which was unusual. So I went ahead and did the ota update. I was guessing it'll probably take me to 8.1.1.1 To my greatest surprise, after the update, I was still on 8.0.5.0, I was like.. .what da f**k ![]() The only consolation for me is that battery life has improved tremendously. I now get 1hr SOt for every 10% battery used. Currently my battery is on 60% and I have SOT of 4hrs on 4g network

nuramohammed26: What's your current rom version? I'm on 8.0.5.0 and I set mine to LTE preferred and my mtn signal is always on 4g 24/7 except when I'm making calls that it switches to H+ , compared to my previous phone that was hard getting 4g signal. My experience is totally different from yours. What network are you using |

Gucciboss: That still will not change the recent app tray he is complaining about |
![]() |
Gmajor: Unfortunately I don't think there's anything you can do about the recent app tray but You can pinch/zoom out the recent app screen to change it to icons. I find that bit easier on the eyes |

Gucciboss: I'm guessing it's one of the redmi 4 series, processor is very power efficient. Yes, Wi-Fi gives better battery life than mobile data. I hate touch Wiz. I prefer miui overall |

Squarebb: Your package has left China en-route to Nigeria. Next status should be 'receive item at office of exchange'. It should take 4-5 days from your current 'dispatched to overseas' status. Enjoy the wait ![]() |

Lastbender: It has passed security check at the airport in China. Next status should be dispatched to overseas, who means it's on its way to naija. |
