Whao.. so this gist about ICAN giving a favourable evaluation is probably dependent on the officer in charge.. until we see more people come up with thier evaluation results so we can know if it's a particular year upwards that get the favourable result.

Your degree does not matter.Do the needful your evaluation,write your IELTS and dive into the pool.l read chemistry and l have an MBA too from NOUN which was evaluated like l said and l also worked in a bank like many others.l was in the pool.The ITA net come and l was inside now l am at Post ITA=AOR.

Please when was this evaluation done? Asking because someone on this thread once posted a screen shot of a favourable evaluation by WES for ICAN which is what changed my mindset about whether it leads to a favourable result.

Some school of thought even has it that WES gives favourable assessment to people who assessed ICAN post 2011 under the new syllabus.

Please has any one recently evaluated ICAN? What year did you finish, when was the evaluation done and what was the outcome??

We need to know what is truly obtainable so that people can be rightly guided.

From what your friend has..it can't be regarded As a Canadian certificate and no point can be earned.

Canadian Equivalency: 2 years professional study in accounting

Remark: The credential is not comparable to a completed Canadian education credential

Does this remark make this evaluation invalid? Has anyone else evaluated with WES but did not have this additional remark? Or has anyone with this additional remark successfully used the ECA and got PPR?

Please was a reference number generated upon application that your school quoted when sending them the transcript to ICES. Also, can certificate be sent via hellofax or email.

Someone have filled the form and sent the transcript and certificate but confused on how to proceed with payment and they do not seem reachable on phone.

Yes. They emailed me and told me payment was due wen they got my certificate, however i had to wait an extra 2 days for my transcript to arrive and then get them to confirm that before i made payment .

Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream: now accepting applications

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is now accepting applications for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream.
ATTENTION:

You must have a valid profile in the Express Entry (EE) system in order to apply.
You must have received a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Ontario that is still valid in order to apply.

Notifications of Interest (NOI) issued prior to November 1, 2017 are valid for six months or to December 31, 2017 (whichever comes first). This means that you must submit an application for the HCP Stream in the OINP e-Filing Portal within six months of receiving your NOI from Ontario.

NOIs issued after November 1, 2017 are valid for 45 days or to December 31, 2017 (whichever comes first). This means that if you received your NOI after November 1, 2017, you must submit an application for the HCP in the OINP e-Filing Portal within 45 days of receiving your NOI from Ontario.

All NOIs issued in 2017 are no longer valid after December 31, 2017.

The person should check if he or she can meet up with 85 points even with 20 points from English. Else maybe consider Canada as an alternative.

Kindly visit CPA or ICAA sites. They are the two bodies accountants on this forum have assessed with.

You really don't need proof of fund if you can get enough points (75 points for now). This should get you 189 ITA in 2 months.

For assessment, you will need to write IELTS (academic), PTE or TOEFL. You need minimum of 7 in LRSW for IELTS and minimum of 65 for PTE.

Send them a fax with your request. Hellofax..I learnt they respond faster

It shouldn't. I included an LOE to say that so say that I didn't go to the UK for the ACCA and I was taking my professional exams concurrently with my undergrads.

As long as you can explain the overlap. You should be fine

Me no be Oga o. So Yes. Advanced diploma gotten after completion of ACCA level 2 can serve same purpose as ACCA. Since your Bsc is accepted. You can tell them to drop the ND and HND. Then write to ACCA to send your transcript to WES for the advanced diploma. They would and it will be accepted by WES. With that you should have two or more certificates.

No point delaying further since your Bsc already earns you at least 3 years degree..the advanced diploma is sufficient to dive into the pool.

To modify your order with WES I think the option is available in the contact us. You just write to them telling them what to exclude.

You can combine your BSc with any of OND or HND to earn points for 2 or more certs. It is said that ACCA can also be used. But I am not familiar with the peculiarities. It seems it depend on the year/syllabus blablabla.

Well.. I would say that having a Canadian certificate should give one more advantage.
The way I see it is what if the MRA with ACCA won't last forever? People have confirmed that the CPA exams isn't child's play..i don't want to write it in future cos am trying to save cost today. If you plan to Soft land then you don't need to convert yet.

If you can afford it maybe you should give it a shot but there are accountants without CPA who get hired. I have heard of ACCA and ICAN guys who have gotten fantastic offers. By God's Grace we won't struggle to settle down whether we convert or not.

I see the CPA money as an investment into my future. My future employer should be able to pay for my subscription going forward. I haven't converted yet but taking baby steps and trusting God for funds.

Hi Bimpsy99, seems you are an accountant and knows quite a bit about CPA. I would like to find out if having a CPA can "significantly" improve one's chances of getting an accounting/finance job in Canada as against just with the ACCA. Reason, is because I don't want to commit to the membership and be tied to an 800 CAD annually if I won't end up using to practice.

Also, do I need Passport information to fill my EE profile?

I don't think it's right to say CPA needs WES. They require that your transcript sent directly by the institution and they also accept WES ICAP not the regular ECA as an alternative to sending your transcript.

They reserve the right to ask for further info is they think it's necessary. People have successfully transferred to CPA without WES so it's not a cast in stone.

My point is using WES as an accountant can save you the stress of asking your school for transcript again for CPA sake..one can just tell WES to upgrade to ICAP but it doesn't mean that CPA requires WES before you can transfer to membership.

Hi. Sorry I am just seeing your message, I guess my.response is coming late.

In my case it was ACCA clashing with higher institution as I was in school when I started the exams. So asides the LOE clearly explaining that it was done on a part time basis.
I tried to avoid overlap in the schedule A personal history cos it is already in my educational history. So I only used it to fill in the remaining gap and wrote unemployed and studying for ACCA. So that way no overlap as I noticed the VO threw it back telling me to explain the overlap. Eventually he accepted it.

WES evaluates ACCA membership as 4 year Bsc giving you two or more certificates if you have another degree or diploma. I did standard delivery for over 9 months still waiting for the ECA report. Some people get it easily some don't. The choice is yours. . Whichever way the soft copy is sufficient for this process.

I changed my name on international passport post AOR. I raise a CSE with it and they acknowledged three weeks later, created a placeholder for me. My PPR came with the new surname.

I would suggest you start the process of getting the new passport immediately after ietls so that you can use it to submit the application once and for all in order to avoid an ADR. Which ever way you do it. You would be fine. Just ensure the change of name documents are uploaded when submitting.

My sister, you have absolutely nothing to worry about here. You can change your name post Ielts. We've had a case of one who changed post AOR! ugoiyke79e (I think), she submitted her new passport post AOR and got PPR about three weeks after she did.

No it wont affect your chances. You would just do a gift deed post ITA and use an LOE to explain your situation.

I haven't received my hard copy too and I submitted the soft. It warrants no LOE as ECA is not a mandatory requirement for upload. We only upload it to make work easy for the VO. Softcopy without LOE is fine

Hmmm.. April 2016 till date.. I am still waiting. Sent transcript twice and verification twice.. yet they claim they haven't gotten the second verification. Use ICAS if you want to be delayed. Of course it depends on your school.. If your school is one of those who they don't verify.you may be lucky to get it in 5months.

Congrats sis. God's Grace truly shined on you. Did you get any point from having an aunt in Canada for direct ITA? My understanding is that only blood related siblings or step siblings give you 15 points. I put the details of my Uncle and it didn't led to any point except for people going through Provincial nomination.

I pray that we all meet reasonable VOs like yours cos some didn't even do more than forgetting to upload a coloured copy of PCC before they got rejected. So I would say that it worked for A does not mean it would work for B. Everyone should do what makes them sleep well at night.

I feel that a Letter of Explanation is not a waste of time if you are convinced you need it to explain a case. It doesn't display weakness or make them touchlight your matter the more. If you dont have anything to explain..then it's not necessary. There are no hard and fast rule in this matter except God's Grace.

It is important prospective applicants do all that is necessary to give them comfort especially when you know the right course of action. The fact that someone got away with it doesn't mean the next person would.

(Family of 2 but I'm Adding a dependant now)

My application was nothing close to perfect but when God is involve protocols are suspended. We made a huge deposit of about 95% of our pof 3 weeks to submission, that alone gave me sleepless nights but I just had to trust God. We decided not to write a letter to explain that cos we realized expalnaing sometimes put you out there for too much screening and really there was nothing to explain except lies.
Secondly out of my desperacy to get more points before ITA I declared that I had a relative in Canada who's actually my cousin but I ticked her as my aunty cos I was not given that cousin option and I wanted points from adaptability. When it was time to proof the relationship after receiving ITA, my eyes cleared that have actually given a wrong information but I went ahead to submit all her documents and this was over looked and not counted as misrepresentation.
Thirdly, when my husband tried to pick up his reference letter from his place of work, the company insisted on giving a letter covering just 3 years and we already declared in our application that he has been with them for 4 years but the company said he worked as a contract staff the first year so they won't be including that. We sha collected letter like that and We never wrote a letter to explain this too.
My fingers hurts already but trust me there are still so many errors, like verifying with Wes instead of PBEC and so on. I even forgot to declare that I was ones denied a U.K. Visa. Don't have any travel history doh.
This journey has taught me a lot of things and please let's try so hard to reduce our explanations especially when not asked. May the Lord perfect this journey for us all.

Fillout the application form, have it signed and then together with other required documents send a mail or email to the specified email address as designated on the link.

Ensure you specify mode of payment (credit/debit card preferrable) and choice of delivery (courier or mail) on the application form. A sample filled form is available to guide you while filling the form.

An app ID number will be sent to u in abt 5days with payment details (how to effect payment).

You can begin processing ur transcript to their address as specified on the link even before payment is requested by ICES.

They are turning into ICAS. N.a. so those one increase site to 28 weeks. Please refer to the amendment on my post on them in page 1. Abeg fresh applicants use WES jeje except you know your school won't respond to verification email in a month or two.

WES has been consistent with 20 business days(as per thier website)..shame on IQAS .

IQAS processing time is now 9-10weeks from document receipt acknowledgement email. They are now turning to season film. When you expect it to end, then you see watch out for season 2. Lol

I sent an updated passport at a time I didn't know the VO nor have a UCI. It's not a compulsory field.

After about three weeks they acknowledged my email and told me it's been forwarded to the appropriate officer. The same day I got an ADR to upload my latest passport. I.just reattached what I uploaded previously and included an LOE that they should change my surname to the married name based on the passport details. By the next day, the visa officer had effected the name change. This was last week.

Still awaiting result though. So please go ahead with the CSE.

To know your VO..you can send an email to the following requesting to know your VO. Hoping they respond. But that should not delay your CSE.

You can limit it to only the work experience you want to claim points for. The other work experiences would form part of your personal when you are completing the post ITA forms.

You can get it anytime. But I would suggest you get it after your ITA since you don't have any need for it ATM. You can always rollover your investment after expiry of your current investment if you wish.
