True. I think this move is as a result of the number of people using these provinces as a stepping stone to get to Canada and then leave the province to their desired one on the premise that they did not get a job. So they are becoming more strict, get the job first then we can give you a nomination.

From what I read on the site, To become endorsed, an employer must demonstrate efforts to hire locally have not been successful.

Lets keep hope alive come March 2017 we will know how it will play out.

Yeah it looks like a challenge but i believe the employers in those provinces will give offers to qualified candidates under this program. Those interested could give it a try by searching for qualified jobs and applying online believing it will work out in their favour.

I think any huge amount deposited into your account post ITA needs to be validated with an LOE and supporting document. For example, you sold your car and the proceed from sales is what is being reflected (Your car documents should support this) or say you liquidated your treasury bills or mutual funds investment, you can get a letter from the bank to state that you actually made such investment.

If the money is not from you, then its a gift deed and needs to be explained as well. As long as your explanations are genuine and reasonable I did not think it will be an issue. These are just my thoughts o, I dont have a practical experience in this yet.

Meanwhile, someone suggested to me that you can invest in mutual funds with a fund administrator long before receiving ITA, the moment you decide to go the EE route and put say 50k, but once you have ITA, you can pump in huge funds and then terminate such that it reflects in your bank statement as investment and your Funds administrator can give you a letter stating the date you invested and total amount invested. Please house can this really work??

Transfer the money to your account as soon as you can. There is no issue with your spouse transferring the bulk of the money to your account. He just needs to write a LOE to support the transfer.

I have heard that some people even use an accompanying spouse account and the VO did not have an issue with it. Personally, for peace of mind, I will advise the money is kept in the PA's account.

@bimpsy99, he can transfer to you and you leave the funds in your account. He'll write a loe that he transferred the funds when you both decided to make you the PA for the ee process. If that happens now n you don't get an ita within the next three months, then by the time you're applying for pr post ita you may not even need the loe seeing as the money would have been in your account for six months.
You can also both create a joint account now but it would have to be at least six months old by d time you're submitting your app.

Before you make up your mind to write another ietls please ask yourself the following questions

Does your work experience match those that I earlier listed?

Do your undergraduate courses (Bsc) meet with the required competency. You can tell from your transcript if you did any of these courses in school. https://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/become-a-cpa/migration-assessment/criteria-and-requirements ?

If it does, then how many years experience can you claim out of 7 years as relevant for accounting? Note that your MBA does not add any particular point.

After answering these questions, play with the point calculator https://www.acacia-au.com/skilled-migration-points-test.php to know where you stand and if you need to gun for 20 points (8 in each or 79 for PTE)

My advice is if after 20 points in english per your calculator above, you still have below 70, you should be ready to wait for a while to get an ITA as the Accounting profession is too competitive.

To have a better chance have a 70 point with the class 189 visa so that even if you go for class 190 with NSW, you know u have 75 points and you are well positioned.

Transcripts (This was sent a week before I applied by DHL and was delivered) by the 8th week I had not heard from Vetassess, I called and they said they didn't have my transcript, I told them the receiver name, they finally checked and found it, this was the first delay.

Employment and promotion letters
payslips
statement of service

They got back to me by the 10th week and said they needed more evidence but were not specific, they said they needed more evidence for my employment and I asked them to be specific, they said I should send whatever I have and they will let me know if it is satisfactory, I was given till January 4th to provide the documents, I asked for more time and was given.

I submitted, Tax clearance, audited financial statements, letter from the professional body and my complimentary card. It wasn't easy, but I'm grateful to God oh.

Hi, Ietls general is acceptable to DIPB but not to CPA, You need to have a 7 in each area, academic version.

On your job duties, well it depends on if you have a reference from your employer that your job duties are similar to that of an accountant as stated below, then you are good to go.

Alphadoor thanks for your help but please biko ejo I am still confused about the English test, your response says ielts general is okay and I know dipb is okay with general too but my assessment body CPA says they only take ielts and pte academic, please is there any accountant that has gotten a positive assessment with ielts general? Which assessing body did they use? Wouldn't want to waste money wey no dey to write another test,although I have registered but have a few days to pay so I need advice ASAP please.

Secondly, I have bsc accounting, MBA and 7 years working experience in a bank, my work duties had some accounting features, is there anyone that can advise whether I can get a positive assessment by claiming work experience please

What occupation to you intend to nominate? If its Accounting related, am afraid none of the Accounting bodies accept HND as equivalent to BSC for the purpose of skill assessment which is even the first step for getting a positive assessment. You may want to chose another occupation not assessed by any of these bodies.

Alternatively, you may try out Canada route as WES assesses HND as higher than Bsc. Go to the Canadian thread to see if it works for you. All the best

Express Entry profile does not require upload of any document. Only your passport number may be required or that of your spouse if you are claiming points through him.

Unfortunately you can only claim points for what has been evaluated evidenced by an ECA , You may consider boosting your english score or getting a provincial nomination.

I also have a diploma in brewing certificate from IBD(Institute of Brewing and distilling) but IQAS declined to evaluate it stating that it's a professional certificate. Unfortunately you can only claim points for 189 visa If her occupation is on the Sol. The alternative you have is to apply for the 190 visa if you must claim points for partner. NSW nominates accountants without much stress as long as u meet the points requirements. All the best

Not sure I understand the basis of the argument. My understanding is that for a CLB 9 or 10, you can't afford to have less than 7 in each competency. Higher score desirable in listening and reading.

You may be fine with a 6 or even 5 if you have a job offer or prono to boost your scores

From previous comment, you need your TRF to request for a remark. They should dispatch it to you soon, you may find out how long this takes from the Saudi guys.

Remark is the best option. This is a wonderful result asides the writing. You will need to pay 15k through bank draft and go to their office within six weeks.

I agree with your analysis. There would be fewer people with crs scores in the 700s-1000s like before. Only persons with PNPs will have those scores. It also in a way helps students with canadian qualifications. So, some of them would no longer need to opt for a PNP to boost their crs scores. An extra 30 points can easily move a bachelors holder from 441 to 471 making him or her a much better candidate for an ITA.
There were also speculations before now that persons with canadian PRs or citizens as first degree relatives may get awarded points but in a way i am happy that didn't happen. It would have gone against the whole idea of economic migration in my opinion.

From what I can see. They included points to people that studied in Canada.
For the other changes in qualification and English test, I can't make a meaning of it till they roll out the tool and we all recalculate

Unfortunately he needs a bsc or an equivalent like ACCA membership. Even though his HND in Accounting may have the core areas, the minimum requirement is a BSC.

Agreed. Just check your bsc courses and confirm you have the mandatory competency areas.

ICAN is not critical to get positive assessment for accountants; CPA states to get a positive assessment, the applicant needs ''to have successfully studied all mandatory competency areas that are relevant to your chosen ANZSCO code'', so the courses in your transcript matter more.

My wife has submitted EOI for visa subclass 190 with 65 points hoping that the additional 5 points from state sponsorship will earn her a total of 70 points.

In view of the highly competitive nature of her nominated occupation (Accountant: General), we have been thinking of how to increase her points and position her for an ITA.

I noticed that her occupation appears on both SOL and CSOL lists; the closest occupation that match my current job role is "Financial Institution Branch Manager" which also appears on CSOL.

My questions;

-Has anyone on this forum gotten a positive assessment from VETASSESS on "Financial Institution Branch Manager" or a closely related occupation? What documents did you submit to get a "winning" application?

-In view of the acclaimed tough nature of VETASSESS, is it worth it to stake AUD810 on their skill assessment and hope to get a positive assessment from them? What has been flashing through my mind for the past few days is the possibility of her getting additional 5 points from "partner points" since both "Accountant: General" and "Financial Institution Branch Manager".

-If I am going ahead with VETASSESS, would it be necessary to go through their Skill Assessment Support (SAS) which includes Document Checking and Consultation Services and spend additional AUD330 on that? Any special benefits?

-Beyond the advertised timeline, how long does VETASSESS assessment takes in reality?
