I am still convinced Peter Obi has the right kind of personality and principles Nigeria of today desperately needs from a president. 'The current economic hardship' Nigerians are facing are a direct result of Tinubu's policies! Hurriedly removing fuel subsidy without providing any palliative and recklessly floating the Naira knowing fully well that Nigeria is an import dependent nation that will always need to sell the Naira in order to buy dollars and other foreign currencies in order to import over 90% of what it consumes. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that these two actions of Tinubu are capable of plunging the Naira and the economy into the abyss that we are seeing now!

On the claim that Nigeria cannot afford to pay subsidy, I don't think that is true. Subsidy itself was never the problem. The real problem with subsidy was the mind-boggling corruption behind it plus the fact that every government in power seems to lack political will to tackle the corruption because of fear of stepping on some powerful toes.

In the present state of the country's economy, uprooting corruption in the subsidy system and making sure all those involved in the corrupt activities are prosecuted and jailed would have been in the overall interest of Nigerians rather than removing the subsidy completely.

I think the yearly rent payment is the best o. That way once you can gather money and pay for one year you know you are free from house rent matter for that year and can focus on other things.

My only suggestion would be that there should be a law restraining landlords from insisting on a one year rent payment if the tenant can't afford it.
