Christianity EtcRe: TB Joshua: Megachurch Leader Raped And Tortured Worshippers, BBC Finds by bitbillionaire: 7:56am On Jan 08, 2024
This so called documentary comes too late, and therefore, completely useless as the accused is no more alive to defend himself or be punished by the law if found guilty
PoliticsRe: N585.2 Million Payment: The Questions Minister Beta Edu Must Answer by bitbillionaire: 8:24am On Jan 07, 2024
Mr. man, we should always learn to see things OBJECTIVELY just exactly as they are without colouring it with emotions, sentiment, and fantasy.

The assassin example you are giving has no connection with this matter. They are two different things with completely different nature, circumstances.and motives. Even at that, I hope you know there is a difference between attempted murder and actually committing murder. The law treats the two differently. Then again, your example is unrelated to Edu's case here.

So what exactly is the false accusation?

The false accusation is the claim that money meant for Vulnerable people in some states was already payed either directly by her or through her instruction into a private bank account of someone with a motive to embezzle it. But the Accountant-general has just debunked such claim.

I quote you again below:
Whether the instruction was followed is IRRELEVANT in law if the instruction is criminal ...bla bla bla

My question is which part of the law criminalises the instruction she gave, especially considering the fact that she clearly stated what the fund was meant for on the memo? It is the actual payment of public fund into private account that the law forbids.

Although her case could be treated as attempted fraud; but before we reach such conclusion the circumstances that led her into giving such instruction need to be thoroughly investigated. Was she obeying an order from above? Was she misled by some senior civil servants in her ministry into sending such instruction? Did she actually have an ulterior motive or she was just being naive and ignorant? More thorough investigation need to be carried out to clarify all these questions before we can decide wether to crucify her or not.

On the issue of Mamman Vatsa's execution 'for planning a coup' according to you, do I need to remind you that we are in a democracy not military dictatorship?

From the above analysis, isn't it obvious that you are the one not making sense here?

aribisala0:
You are not making sense
If a person phones an assassin to kill somebody and the assassin decided not to do it
That means that the person is being FALSELY and UNFAIRLY accused? That is YOUR logic

It sounds senseles

Factually The woman has confirmed she did give that instruction

So what exactly is the false accusation

Whether the instruction was followed is IRRELEVANT in law if the instruction is criminal . What matters is the concept of MENS REA

In the 80ds Mamman Vatsa was executed for PLANNING a coup he did not execute or even attempt it .

What you are saying is unreasonable and it stinks
PoliticsRe: N585.2 Million Payment: The Questions Minister Beta Edu Must Answer by bitbillionaire: 11:18pm On Jan 06, 2024
Judging from the Accountant-general's claim that Edu's instruction to pay the N585.2 million into the project Accountant's private bank account was not followed; meaning, they did not make the payment contrary to rumours flying around the social media; I am tempted to believe the woman is being falsely and unfairly accused by mischief makers.

The initial impression I had was that she personally transferred the money into somebody's private account for fraudulent motive. But I later discovered that she only sent a memo to Accountant-general of the Federation instructing her to make the payment, not into her personal account, nor into private account of any of her family members or friends, but into the account of the project Accountant for the Grants for Vulnerable Groups in the Ministry of Finance. And the memo clearly specified the purpose of the transfer and the beneficiary groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Lagos and Ogun.

While we all know that the law forbids public fund being transferred into a private account, it's important to note that:

1) the money has not even been paid yet (according to the Accountant-general).

2) it's possible she was made to believe that that was the way things are done in the ministry and she could have been misled into sending such instruction to the Accountant-general.

3) after going through the memo she sent to the Accountant-general, I have a feeling that Edu probably had no ulterior motive. She was most likely naive and ignorant of the law and implication of what she was doing.

The investigation should continue to it's logical conclusion. If the money is discovered to have already been paid into the private account both Edu and the Accountant-general and even the project Accountant should be fired and the money recovered. Otherwise, she should be freed.

Please help me enlighten them oooo

deenee:
I hope you are aware that he has other sources of cash flow. So paying down on debt used to finance the refinery won't be a problem. He owns 85% of DangCem in Nigeria. 100% ownership of 10 other cement factories across Africa. 90% ownership of Nascon and Dangote Sugar respectively. Impressive real estate portfolio that gives good returns and a family office based in Dubai for cross border transactions.

Dangote Cement in Nigeria alone is a big cash cow and very profitable. And he has cement factories in 10 other African countries generating about 3.5 billion dollars in revenue annually.

The repayment was from other investors that bought into the refinery project. For example NNPCL bought about 20% stake in 2021 for about 2.7 billion dollars .

Other institutional investors have bought stakes in the refinery giving them equity ownership and proceeds from which have been used to pay down expensive debt.

Apparently alot of people don't understand how capital allocation along the lines of debt and equity work in a business. More importantly when to use debt vis- a- vis equity

Even if yall take the refinery from him. He is currently discussing with two countries in Sub Sahara Africa to build the largest cement factory in that jurisdiction.

God bless Nigeria
God bless Dangote
PoliticsRe: Betta Edu: Why I Approved Payment Of ₦‎585 Million Into A Private Account by bitbillionaire: 10:21am On Jan 06, 2024
Public fund paid into a private account of an individual who is neither a legal beneficiary nor a legal representative of the beneficiaries of the fund.

You don't have to be a lawyer to know this is illegal. All those involved must be jailed.

That ministry of humanitarian whatever is a disaster itself and a cesspool of mind-boggling corruption. It should be scrapped. Nigerians are better off without it.

We are not saying the same thing. There is a difference between being 'tired of toto' and being able to control your sexual desire at all times.

The tiredness may be because you no longer find your wife sexually attractive but the desire is always with you and can be aroused anytime you find a sexually attractive lady.

By the way, if you are going to be 'tired of toto' eventually what is the point of rushing into marriage mainly for the purpose of sex. It doesn't make sense

ppogba:
You are speaking as an unmarried fellow.

Which sexual desire are you talking about?

I get your point. But you are limiting your perception to the amount he could earn from salary and other bonuses and allowances in the course of his career. But I am looking far beyond that.

You need to understand that we live in a very interesting time where a nobody with seemingly no connection can suddenly wake up tomorrow and discover he his a multimillionaire! Without committing any crime! If this can happen to a 'nobody' what do you think can happen to a person like Emefiele with his status, powerful connections and access to privileged information? Although I am not saying the man is clean but I insist that he can make that $500 million and even more, legitimately through investment and several businesses.

ppogba:
Sir,

Without stealing and the rest atrocities, if you are given birth to in a bank and you follow the same trajectory as Emefiele, 500 million dollars CAN Never be a chicken change sir because there is no way you could have earned that throughout your sojourn. Claiming to have the connection to have acquired same is tantamount to " stories".

What work does Emefiele do to earn liquid and expendible $500m?
This your question just make me laugh. I don't know why I find it so funny.

$500 million should be a chicken change to a man who had been in banking industry for years rising from the lower rank until he became Zenith Bank MD and finally became a CBN governor, don't you think so? At the level he got to in life, and considering the kind of network he had, he could easily spot investment/money making opportunities that can easily fetch him that money.

By the way, what makes you think the $500 million used to buy Union Bank was Emefiele's money

5. This is also the understanding of marriage that is offered by the Gospel. For this reason, when it comes to blessings, the Church has the right and the duty to avoid any rite that might contradict this conviction or lead to confusion. Such is also the meaning of the Responsum of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which states that the Church does not have the power to impart blessings on unions of persons of the same sex

aikyg:
We all agree that Bunari approved it, but you should have borrowed a leaf from how Okonjo Iweala managed her principal. Madam has a way of saying "No" whenever the she sees that the president is on a wrong track. If only Emefiele had respectfully said "No" to Buhari, he would not have ended up being accused left right and centre.
This is one of the very few sensible comments on this thread.

Emefiele may not be clean but I refuse to believe he is the most corrupt CBN governor we ever had. The guy's major weakness was his over-submissive attitude to the powers that controlled Buhari's administration. Unlike Soludo and Sanusi, Emefiele seemed to lack firmness and willpower to say 'No' to most of the irrational and illegal demands of the presidency thereby allowing them to put him in the mess he finds himself today.

And the so called private investigator needs to do his job with a clear mind that is not influenced by any preconceived notions and ill-feelings

You guys should stop all this noise about Lagos 'waxing stronger' (whatever that means). A state that owes the highest debt in Nigeria and is ranked the 2nd worst place to live in can't be said to be waxing stronger.

Lagos was already a rich city even before Tinubu was born. And we all know that the state has the potential to be 10 times greater than what it is today if not because of corruption and mismanagement of resources belonging to the state.

The President intervened as a concerned citizen who wants peace. He was publicly begged by the Rivers Elders who are loyal to Fubara to intervene. If he wants to intervene as the President and Commander-in-Chief , he will just declare a State of Emergency, and appoint a Sole Administrator.

If he appoints Wike as the Sole Administrator, the National Assembly will approve it. Anybody wey wan die, make e die, the President has spoken. This was what Wike was working towards, that was why he went to Rivers State to cause himself to be attacked and chaos will start, but Tinubu cautioned Wike to let Fubara be. Merely questioning and rebuking her is useless if she still ends up spending such an amount
