Doctors will tell you it's healthy to masturbate thereby plunging many young people into imminent disaster. masturbation has serious side effects ranging from inability to sustain erection when u finally get to have sex to leaness and poor vision. end of. unfortunately for some jokers who like to claim that the first female muslim lawyer in this country was called to bar in 1999, or that muslims are underrepresented in the NBA, neither is the case. politics/democracy is a game of numbers. there are enough influential muslims practicing law in this country to push this thing through. no need for any ambiguity.

It will be discussed and agreed upon. There is no big deal in a woman wearing a scarf to work. Women in other fields are doing it. Law in the end is about logic, not sentiment. Wearing a hijab will not any way impact on a lawyers professional appearance/demeanour.

Secularism does not mean imposing your religious expression on others. Wearing an hijab to state functions like a courtroom has the same effect as a judge wearing dreds to court. It gives the impression of religious bias in the person expressing his religion in public.

The reference to New York doesn’t have any merits and it is like comparing apples with oranges.

Lawyers in the US don’t have uniform or a proscribed way of dressing even in court. No wig, no cap, no regalia, nothing....you are only require to dress professionally to rest the court and for male, a nice suite and tie is just good enough.

In Nigeria, lawyers are mandated by law to dress certain way period!

I have seen many claims on here that wearing hijab to one's call to bar is against the law, but I have yet to see anybody cite the specific law that is being violated. This is not about Amasa's religion, it's about her secular rights, and in this case, the law school, in spite of its unique position as the nurturer of Nigeria's judicial institution, is evidently the erring party here. The law school should ferociously adhere to, and promote the spirit of Nigeria's constitution, not brazenly violate it, as it has done against this young lady. I'm happy she's brave enough to stand her ground, and I stand with Amasa Firdaus!
