Beautifulday:Every State governor has been doing such in different ways not only to the military. Even the NPF benefits from such largese of security vote. That is why the States needs to commence their own State Police so that they can fund them properly while the FG takes care of that which is theirs. |
Beautifulday:The security vote money allocated to governors is more like a miscellaneous money with no details attached to it. It's a kind of money spent on frivolities. No records, nothing backed by law and so corruption can't be said to be occurring. |
Angelfrost:The nation is only unproductive to those who are poor. The politicians are reaping good from this unproductiveness of the nation. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the stand of the NLC/TUC and I pray they stand firm as a solid rock. Let the FG come out with a template on how that purported #54,000 would be spent on a monthly basis by that civil servant and let's even assume that it's just for a single individual without any dependants if that's even possible. The FG knows what to do to make the nation productive and very productive but as a nation and a people we prefer short cuts and like putting forth unrealistic policies that are only good on paper. There's a big difference between a nation being operational rather than functional and that is where and what Nigeria is. |
jaxxy:Fubara is the one playing and a joker of some sort. No be today we dey hear such things. I'm sure he has good records of all the properties he has also that he'll need to say how he managed to acquire them as a civil servant. |
Islie:We are an unserious people in this nation. Who in the military is he giving that amount of money monthly? He just succeeded in making sure the insecurity grows more in his State by that act. I would rather find an independent security outfit like some of our former militant brothers in the Niger Delta pay them that money and see what they will achieve or call all those bandits and share that money amongst them and tell them to desist from such activities and maintain order within their domains. |
jaxxy:Hahahaha.... An accountant general is a career civil servant. It is him that is going to tarnish his image. We have seen his likes of people saying this and that. Let him enjoy immunity for now as a governor. Those people giving him mind are all local champions when the time reach everyone will see who will stand down. Let him keep distracting himself. May WIKE not happen to anyone. |
nairalandkachy1:Is he now saying it is the FCT who was his the former governor that was shielding him from EFFC that should be scared ?It seems like just because he is a governor he has forgotten that there are rules as a career civil servant. For now enjoy the immunity as a governor while it lasts. Even the former CBN governor acted on approvals from the Presidency. |
Oghene86:We shall all wait and see all the walk over. |
raymondFirstborn:Just because your ancestor are great hunters doesn't make you a great grand child also a hunter. It takes more than that. There's so much that could happen that no individual person knows. |
Oghene86:Which and who are the ijaws are you referring to!!!! ![]() Forget all this online cinema drama, those people parading around him claiming they are ijaw when the time reach you'll see how many of them are left with him. Many of us grew up in Rivers State and know the history the place the governor comes from don't consider themselves as ijaw people, forget about all this IYC or INC stuffs, all those are just avenues to collect monies from highest bidders. Make them go find dancers that can dance when the real drummers come out with their drums and beat the language of the land. |
press9jatv:200 LG workers in Emouha LGA re-instated!!!! How many workers are in that LGA? Good news oOoOO.....but if Hon. Chidi Lloyd sacked them, when were they sacked and were they never replaced or is this just the political stunt of making people feel the governor has the grassroots at hand......... I do hope the governor is not trying to do the work of the LGA chairmen as they have once said previously.......... |
gabbytabby:Practice in the north you call it and it will continue to be so for the next 500 years and so you approve of it because it is so. Interesting.... Extraction 3&4 loading. |
galantjoe:Do you know any orphan who is an adult? Show us the proofs of such. Why choose sponsoring marriage and not sponsor them to have a good education in a good school as he has done for his daughters and sons if he has any grown ups. |
Melagros:If this reconciliation does not translate into bringing meaningful infrastructural development, improved social welfare and security, etc, etc, then it is absolutely nothing good for the common good of the common people. |
GUNITGuy:At the appropriate time he will explain. It was him the rat he has chosen to fight was shielding from EFFC. He is now in a circuit riding around showing his talents. Now he has a voice. |
BeeBeeOoh:Because these so called religious leaders have received money from the largese of the Niger State, State House Speaker there are calling for resignation of a federal minister. Imagine a State House Speaker saying his marrying out orphans girls as part of his constituency projects. That is how we saw another saying he bought calabash and mats for grave yards. Are these the kind of intellectuals we have from the North and are these the kind of people that would want to become President of a country. How did all these people come into political office in this time of age. The religious leaders are saying the girls are adults and old enough and they would take legal action against the Federal Minister. Only someone who was not truly educated and learned will say an adult is an orphan. This people are not even concerned about the issue of banditry and how to genuinely resolve it but are happy to give out those whose parents have been killed due to banditry. Truly the heart of man is desperately evil. |
Gistmedia10:SIM may likely be the one person this otapiapia will catch at the end of this drama. There's a court injunction restraining anyone from taking former governor Peter Odili to the mud and that same ruling CRA benefited from it when Wike constituted a committee to probe him and Wike will also benefit from it but SIM will not benefit from such because the case against you will span from your career years as a civil servant and you'll have to explain much more than you think you're acting now. Wisdom is profitable to those who have received sense. |
"This Is Too Much Punishment For Nigerians’ - Seyi Law Tackles Tinubu Over New CBN Policy https://reubenabati.com.ng/featur/this-is-too-much-punishment-for-nigerians-seyi-law-tackles-tinubu-over-new-cbn-policy [/q This Tax Collectors in this administration are going to be far worse than those recorded in the Holy Bible. So we will stop gifting money to family and friends through e-transfers because of this unrighteous taxation. Allow the masses to breath oOoOO. |
I can see that NL is filled with miscreants for calling the NLC derogatory names but you can come online and say electricity in Nigeria is cheap compared to the USA. |
Validated:I put my trust in these because they get the work done and it's all visible with no sentiments attached. In no particular order based on those who still retain political office with portfolios..... FCT 001; HE Wike Gov. Zulum of Borno Minster of Works; HE Dave Umahi Gov. Otti of Abia State......is starting well... |
eneye1:An intelligent administrator would know how to care for his people bringing to them that which is most needed given the times and seasons. Anyone who couldn't do well realistically without political sentiments is either lacking in ideas and common sense or outrightly greedly selfish. |
eneye1:Fubara is the one bringing trouble upon himself. What is that agreement that he can't keep that he could not wait till after 12 months to start having public issues with his benefactor. Let him not come and say that it's these issues that made infrastructural development to move slowly. He has joined the league of politicians who uses public events to make jests of others. |
victorclean:Is there any law that such should operate? Even the FG frowns at LG caretaker chairmen appointment. Irrespective of political affiliation and sentiment let the right thing be done and let there be positive onward movement. |
vikiphy89:Wike appointed care taker chairmen only after the High Court dissolved those who came in through the election conducted by Gov. Amaechi as not to create a vaccum. In Gov. Sim case it's entirely different. The State Assembly have preinformed the governor to conduct the LG election before the expiration of those who are chairmen so that the issue of caretaker chairmen will not finds it's place for such practice is unconstitutional. |
obasanjonews:There's no need using the word Pro Wike law makers. There are times fightings and in-fightings brings about the true process of functional democracy where each arm demonstrates their responsibilities within the ambient of the law guiding them and not infringing on another. The practice of appointment of LG caretaker chairmen by governors is against the law and this legislative assembly has beaconed on the governor to do the right thing rather than go about it the old ways. At the end of this so many State Legislative arms will turn a new leaf. At the end of the day LG elections may become based on accountability and integrity rather than show of money. |
Eleporobi:The names of those you just mentioned were the days of old and some of these men were sabotaged by other members. So the past has gone with the wind. We are in the present and possibly the future of what becomes of the party. Bringing in party members of old is not the issue but where will the finance come from, that is the real question, and not just finance but finance to walk the real talk? Wike irrespective of whatever he might have done has not really done any worse thing than many of those who had sabotaged the party and left the party and after they could not achieve or maintain their selfish ambition elsewhere only returned to claim founding fathers!!!!! I repeat we are in the present and only those who are ready to walk the talk with their finance be it personal are looted will make inroads significant of the times ahead. |
Eleporobi:There are those who bring money into the party to run for elections and there are those who bring same money to not just run for elections but also sustain and support the party and Rivers State has been doing same for a very long time more than any State. Can this present governor do same given the circumstances and challengees ahead if Wike is expelled from the party? History will tell!!!! Not every man can walk the talk. |
garfield1:This is the total figure 296,972 out of about +2,000,000 voters of the entire vote count that produced winners in the entire 8 LGA where the PDP stood unopposed even with the selective election. What does this figure tell you when looked upon with the total results in the governorship election? |
Great100000:The only thing the NLC should be doing now is to put it across to the FG that the minimum wage should be 1,000,000 Naira which is less than $800 at today's exchange rate for Naira/Dollar. |
nlfpmod:Thanks for speaking for the government. What's remaining is for the government to start paying 1,000,000 Naira as minimum wage knowing fully well that labour should also not be cheap. |
[/quote We are a nation full of idiotic people and those who agree to this increase are even more idiotic. How much is 30,000 Naira in Dollar? What's the minimum wage or living wage in the above countries in dollar comparing that to Nigeria? |
iwaeda:Palliatives is never the solution but governors and political office holders have been known to hoard/hide palliatives given to them by the FG for the common people even to the extent that these palliatives get spoilt in the warehouses they are stored because they lack good storage facilities and methodologies. This governor has spent 4 years putting things in motion and the particle is yet to actually move. I keep wondering how can one appoint commissioners and more than half of the ministries and even those that are supposed to have value added show no signs of anything been done. A governor who spent more that 6 months modifying a round about extension or is it a road that's not up to 1KM with just a bridge that it took almost 3 years to accomplish!!!!!. |
