The same person who said he would go on self exile after the court case for presidential election is still here with the fellow masses. This is one of the reasons it's never good to speak always even when given the opportunity.

All the things that PMB during his tenure will he be remembered for or the PDP who ruled for 16 years will say all that PMB achieved were nothing but that which PGEJ initiated and did not actualize.
A confab report that the mighty PDP could not implement, for reasons best known to them. We certainly live in a hypocritical atmosphere.

Whether we maintain the pattern of governance practiced or changed , I think and believe the respective State Governors and their Stata Assembly are responsible for creating more LGAs within their domain and the FG has no logical reason whatsoever to stop them. After all this is the same thing that BAT as governor then did in Lagos State that made Baba Olusegun fought him and refused him State allocations for several months.
Baba Bode George have silently hidden from the fact that there's hardly a single State governor who has agreed that the LGA run autonomous because they the State governors don't always remit the full allocation sent by thr FG to the LGAC.
So what do you think will also happen if then the State governors are allowed to create more LGACs which in itself is a good thing but when they refuse to fund them?
Many LGACs are only there for the reason to pay salaries and nothing else.

They have never tried to ensure the almajari system is abolished as if Nigeria is the only muslim country in the world......

If an instrumentalist or drummer or singer is a full-time staff of the church; and employee of the church; such a person must be paid. It is just like working in a bank. The church is his or her office, so such a person must be paid.

It is wrong to ask for payment when you are a member of a church and still get your source of livelihood elsewhere. You cannot be working in the bank, a company etc, and still tell your pastor to pay you because you are a drummer, instrumentalist, etc. Does it mean you cannot help God's house without being paid?
The answer you seek is written in 1 Corin 9:13 and you can add verse 14 where Apostle waived his rights.
Remember the levitical priesthood consists of those priests who are into singing and use of instrumentals, incense burners and not only the high priest who enters the holy of holies.
The levitical priesthood system was not completely abolished but evolved to what we have as Ministers(Ministry).

This senator is biting more than she can chew. Its high time she puts off this northern attitude and mentality and behave well before the FCT minister will take her up like he tackles men.
If there's an increase in kidnapping in the FCT its because those who feel a Southerner can't become their Minister and want to prove a worthless point. They are making mediocre of themselves.
The North and her muslims have refused to stop bandits and their operations because they feel cows are better suited to live than humans.
The NDM and NDDC have positions occupied by people from the North and the South have not talked down any of them.
If the senator has any good plan on how to assist the minister to keep FCT safe let her tender her spiral binded notes and forward to him.
It's high time her Northern counterparts call her to order or they should also explain why there's still a serious security challenges in their regions for more than 20 years.
After all they have been ruling this Nigeria more than any order tribe and occupying all the juicy positions and there's absolutely nothing good worth celebrating them for.

Christianity EtcRe: Should Pastors And Their Family Members Tithe? by bixton(m): 2:30pm On Oct 29, 2023
fuckJones:
Tithes and offering are gifts given to God. Thus the tithes and offerings are a reflection of one’s love for God and is given freely.

The Apostle Paul writes, “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (II Cor. 9:7–cool.

So in my opinion, “Are you suppose to pay tithes to your own church if you’re the pastor?”
The above you quoted is not in relation to Tithe giving but with respect to offering submission.

Nevertheless, there are categories of Pastor(s), kindly permit. One are those who are the General Overseers of the Ministry the Lord gave them and there are those who are Pastors who are shepherds of the local church assembly within any Ministry.

Now the General Overseers are supposed to pay Tithes and also pay Tithes of Tithes....... depending on how each one understands the Scripture and his work with God and i believe they also know whom/where to give the Tithe just as Abraham knew whom to give his Tithe.
All other Pastors working within any particular ministry pay their Tithes to their respective churches. I think if not all ministries , they deduct the tithes from the amounts given to the Resident Pastors before payment (allowances/wages) depends on what name ia given to it.
CrimeRe: I Think I Might Have A Case Of Money Laundering by bixton(m): 1:36pm On Oct 03, 2023
Nairaland1stson:
I have suspicion that someone wants to use my account to launder money. A lady visited my shop demanding to purchase goods worth millions of naira she was so much in a hurry or desperate for someone who intends to perform such transactions. She was accompanied by a man she claimed to be her sick husband, two kids, and another young man. She claimed she needed to perform the transaction as soon as possible so she could travel down to a neighboring state for her husband's treatment.

There was no much negotiations as it seemed she was the one begging for the goods to be sold to her. After confirmation she said I should bring my POS machine so she could make a transfer, I already had suspicions on her so I told her i didn't have one and besides who would want to perform transactions worth millions of naira with a POS machine mode of payment. I suggested that she heads to the bank or make a transfer from her mobile app, which she shrugged off immediately like it was not even an option.

The young man with her insisted I get a POS vendor so that the transaction can be made which I declined and told them that there were many around the vicinity that they can go get one if they wish to. The young man left and returned a few minutes later with one, when they arrived the woman suddenly said she was scared and needed to invite the person who referred her to our place. She called this person and he arrived shortly, he was someone known to us in the past but not well known. She then requested that I get another POS vendor, which I suggested that they should get back the previous vendor they invited earlier. The young man went back again and returned with the vendor. The woman gave the vendor a debit card, which the vendor tried pulling the whole money at once, but it didn't go.(exceeded limit) The POS vendor then proceeded to split the money and it was successful. So she was only able to make part payment for the goods.

They were about to leave when I reminded them that I was supposed to issue a receipt for the part payment deposited into my account. Which I did later, and they left. Fast forward to the evening same day, she called me claiming that her husband's health was demanding much, and she wouldn't be in need of what she purchased earlier that I would have to refund her immediately.

What rose my suspicions on them are:

1. The acclaimed husband of hers, whom she claimed had stroke as at when they visited the shop, I saw him earlier when they alighted from a Keke napep which dropped them across the road and he was walking very fine but when they began to approach my shop he began to limp like he couldn't walk properly and the woman held his hand for assistance (they didn't know that I had seen him earlier walking properly without any form of aid) when they were at the shop, the acclaimed husband who had stroke sat and crossed his legs, is that even possible for someone suffering from a stroke?

2. Why would they insist on only POS mode of payment (for a transaction worth millions)

3. Why would a woman whose acclaimed husband is sick with stroke decide to perform such a transaction (her pirioty should be making sure her husband is taken care of medically)

4. I know you must be wondering what it is she bought, but I will not be disclosing such for privacy reasons (Hint: it is a single item)

5. She was incoherent when I asked for the name and address that would be added to the receipt (it seemed like she was guessing the name and address)

What are your thoughts? Should I refund the money immediately, if I will, what are the measures to be taken to ensure I am on a safe side
Your suspicious are legitimate.
(1) Don't give out cash because payment was done via the Debit card.
(2) If need be refund the money back into the same account that it was sent from and none other.
(3) Inform your bank of your suspicion and let them give a response . All this should be via email so you know that the bank is duly notified.
(4) If you have a lawyer friend whom you can confide in then do so and seek advice and tell the person that he/she would be your lawyer to represent/defend you should the issue turn to be as you suspected if the security officers come looking for you.
(5) Pray to God.
(6) Whatever you're not comfortable with don't bend to it because the consequences may be dire. Christmas is approaching, don't fall a victim to another's fraudulent acts. The police is never your friend if they come looking for you.
(7) Your taking pictures of these people may not necessarily help you if the Debit card/ATM card does not belong to them and maybe it's a victim they had kidnapped or even murdered.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Many Christians Find It Difficult To Be Holy by bixton(m): 3:14pm On Aug 20, 2023
cutecommend:
One major reason why many christians find it difficult to be holy is because they have soft spot for sin or worldliness.

But the major reason why many christians are not holy is because they do not have passion or hunger or thirst for holiness. Imagine how you have passion for football or passion for betting or passion for your career. Imagine the addictions you have to certain things..Now imagine having passion and hunger to be holy.

I tell you, if you spend 2 months of desperation, praying hard and trying to be holy, God will see that you are truly interested in being holy, and He will give you grace and ease to live a holy life. Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled".

God gives holiness grace to those who truly needed it!
Anyone who values the salvation of God through Christ Jesus upon his life will think well before indulging in sin. You can't make caricature of the death of Christ Jesus and not get burnt by the devil. Yea the Lord is long-suffering and merciful but the devil is not. Anyone who understands the realms of the spirit will not indulge in acts of sin.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Baptism Necessary For Salvation? by bixton(m): 3:53pm On Jul 31, 2023
Kobojunkie:
According to John the Baptist, to be baptized meant to change/transition from following the Old Law to following the New Law instead. He explained that in order for that to take place, there was a need for a visible transition from following God's Old Law of Moses to following God's New agreement of peace —Jesus Christ. In verse 8 of the passage below, John instructs the Pharisees to change their hearts and show by the way that they live that they have in fact changed from following the Old Way to following the New Way — Jesus Christ. undecided
In verse 10, John declared that the Old Way was coming to a close and so there was a need for those who wished to, to transition to the New. undecided

Now, an interesting fact most do not know is that a transition from the Old Law of Moses to the New Law also meant one was to be cut off from the Fountain of Living Water of the Old Law of Moses, to be connected instead to the Fountain of Living Waters that is Jesus Christ. In essence, one dies to or is cut off from the former source of Living Water- Jeremiah 2:13 & Jeremiah 17 vs 13, and is reconnected or born of the New Fountain of Living Water that is Jesus Christ - John 4 vs 10 - 14 & John 7 vs 37-39. undecided
You have answered the question about baptism. Try not to get yourself confused.

Jer 2:13: the fountain of living water is same in the Old and New Testament.
God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, God the Holy Spirit. They are ONE and they are meant to achieve one purpose.

"at least that's what's practiced...." Practiced by who? Jehovah witnesses or early Christians? Certainly early Christians didn't practice this. Every conversion in the Bible is acomplished with baptism. No, no exception. But you can go ahead and show me any exception, though. And everyone is baptized as soon as they indicate their willingness to do so. Jesus says everyone who comes to Him has learned from the Father.
What is being practiced now is not what was practiced by the early Christians as contained in the Holy Bible. Every ministry has their own doctrines practiced as believed to come forth from the Holy Bible.
Jehovah Witness is a sect of their own and not of God.

Jesus did not say all who come to Him has learned from Him........
It is come to Him and learn. There should be a willingness to learn and even that does not mean one has learned or is learning from Him.

The question is: can you be saved, through Christ, without being a Christian? Because the Bible talks about putting on Christ at Baptism. When being baptized, I was asked to affirm my faith in Christ.
Gal 3:27 does not really talk about a literal baptism being done if that's what you mean. It's more of a spiritual thing.
Now if you take it to be literal/physical(by the letter), we all know that it's not all who are baptized that have put on Christ Jesus. Yes, you can have an assumption but it's not all. When you have said to have put on Christ Jesus, it means you are completely dead to sin. That is who Jesus Christ. The one who beareth the sin but yet without sin.

There's a skewed definition about who a Christian is that we have all come to accept which is a complete deviation from what's in the Bible. I am very such you know where the name of christian originate and I also know you're aware of the reason it came forth through the mouth of an unbeliever addressing the early apostles.

A man does not put on Christ because he undergoes baptism. No, that's unscriptural from my own understanding. Amongst many other interpretations, baptism is symbolic and an open declaration of the faith you have come to accept. The immersion in the water is symbolic that one is completely dead to sin(s) and the coming out of the water is that the individual is now renewed. Like I said this is just all symbolic to your accepted faith. That is why after one receives an altar call, he/she goes through discipleship class(foundation class for new convert) and made to understand what it entails to become a Christian and live as same. It is after this process that you go for baptism....
at least that's what's practiced....

No matter what religion one claim to be of, you cannot worship God without first to have acknowledged Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the giver of God's Salvation unto mankind. He is our Saviour and Lord. If you miss Him, you miss God's Salvation for your soul.

Read this verses well and ask yourself if Isam is of God to bring Salvation....

These verses below talks about Islam and what it entails....

Gal.4.21 - Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law?
Gal.4.22 - For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman.
Gal.4.23 - But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise,
Gal.4.24 - which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar--
Gal.4.25 - for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children--
Gal.4.26 - but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Gal.4.27 - For it is written: "Rejoice, O barren, You who do not bear! Break forth and shout, You who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children Than she who has a husband."
Gal.4.28 - Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
Gal.4.29 - But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now.
Gal.4.30 - Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? "Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman."
Gal.4.31 - So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.

Understanding the Scripture is paramount to the wholesome believe and faith of the Christian.

Matt.27.52 - and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
Matt.27.53 - and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

That Altar-Call is a confession of sins unto a profession of repentance and upholding of the new faith, which by those words is bound on you as a new believer welcomed into the vineyard of God the Father through His Son Christ Jesus.
The essence of the Baptism is a public declaration that you have accepted Christ Jesus and your Saviour and Lord over your life and you are now to be counted as members who have been delivered from darkness into His marvelous light of Jesus Christ.
