SisterAnn:It is good to have this veggies planted on any small space we have around us for they can be of help. Some moths ago I had little or no money on me and wanted to cook a little soup for it's being over a month I ate soup. I got a call from a family friend and when I wanted to return back I saw some this veggies called "hospital too far" growing at the corner of the building and I asked if I could take some and yes, I was given some and some green leaves(spinach) so while returning I stopped at the market and bought fish and prepared the little I had. I poured the seeds of the green leaves on the soil around my side of the building and I now have that as a veggie added to my very little garden. |
Islie:This statement is not only myopic but even less childish for an adult to think this way. Having to know the number of registered members can never translate into same of votes at the election. During the just recent concluded LG elections in Bayelsa State even though there was no opposition in that election the results after the election did not even show a true representation of the party that won. The results in all the LGA which is supposedly the grassroots was far lesser compared to what was gotten by the winning party. |
Johncuppa:Well point us to your master strategist. |
rolams:When you get creative you'll know they can serve the same purpose and even better. Hope you know garri is grainy and not completely fine flour powder. |
nlfpmod: |
Johncuppa:The ingenuity lies in the calibre of persons in his cabinet who knows their jobs and how to go about it. |
Johncuppa:You want me to believe that PBAT does not envisage what he wants. Well I find that ridiculous. I'm sure every appointment comes with a portfolio and specific job functions prepared and handed to them. It might be streamlined or ambiguous. |
casualobserver:Those at the non functional and operational refineries who are receiving salaries are doing so because the FG who is supposed to put the refineries working are also partly ensuring it doesn't work. The essence of the NLC and unionism in agitating for higher pay wage is to ensure that the individual who is at the bottom gets a good and realistic wage even though this agitation will also benefit those who are already in top management placement/cadres. |
ogododo:A very trial and error economic team. You can't give what you don't have. That's a fact. It's only in Nigeria that people with good resumes from the private sector can't offer much when they are brought into government funded institutions to bring about that needed expertise knowledge and positive turnaround. |
Enemyofpeace:Please which one is GL 33....... Is that a special code for FG PAs..... Anyways that's what written in paper and probably not what they keep for themselves. Sometimes a fraction of that money is given to someone as gratitude on a monthly basis. |
Bobloco:None of these fellows have any inch of credibility. They can't deceive anyone. Can anyone of them give any if them children that purported amount of money called #30,000 on a monthly basis for their upkeep even as they live with them in the same house. They are now feeling concerned that it's an offence for the NLC to do a forceful shutdown of electricity but they have never told the DISCOs to stop the issue of estimated bills where they make people to pay for non existent electricity usage. They all need to be retired permanently from politics. |
Wisdomkosi:I think bowing to your boss is nothing but respect. Sometimes we don't need to be told to do what it's excepted of us to do. And it's also a privilege for them to be made the pioneers PS in the FCT civil service commission. They should know that working with the FCT Minister is a rare privilege and they should put in their best. As humans we pray and God answers our prayers in ways we would never understand. |
Babysho:There's no proof that if they increase wages that there will be inflation other than it's just typical theoretical economic talk. It is said that the approved UN wage for one who lives above the poverty level should be $2 per day and we all know how much that is in today's exchange. But even at that we can't settle for such because the Naira holds no much value and no significant purchasing power even in the hands of a nursery school pupil. Why don't our so called leaders ensure the economy is truly working rather than this trial and error approach and artificial inflation we experience. |
Islie:When it comes to paying a good wage for civil servants we tend to drag feet and bring all manner of talks, competence, skills, productivity. Please why has the competence, skill levels/set, productivity of the legislature not show the development strides of the nation and yet they take home such humongous amount of salary? Their functions as senators does it pemit that they receive such salary even when the nation is in such unproductive state? |
Lymasaba:Let me ask you this question and please kindly respond truthfully. When Sanusi was made Emir by the Kwankaso administration which of the Bayero's went on self exile and vowed never to return and what was the reason behind such? |
richidinho:Please mention the name of any politician that has integrity that is still alive in this country? |
mrvitalis:The bolded definition is good but it only stands in places where there is a regulation of prices for all commodities, goods and services. But the case is not same in Nigeria. Though #150K, should be the benchmark for a minimum wage but also let the FG+NLC come up with a template on how such amount typically would be appropriated on basic amenities ranging from foodstuff, transport, toiletries, utility bills, rental savings, etc, etc, ....let it be done first for someone who has no one depending on him so they all know how realistically the amount they would finally agree would be expended typically for someone who would want to live within (h)is/er income. |
Anguldi:When traditional institutions are tampered by politicians they loose their voice and credibility. Nevertheless Sanusi was not even supposed to be the Emir for he was not the person the Kingmakers chose. Kwankaso over ride the position of the Kingmakers and appointed Sanusi so that the GEJ administration would not use the security agencies and judiciary to humiliate him after all that he did by rubbishing the GEJ administration while he was the CBN governor. Can anyone even the President try such thing with the Oba of Benin Kingdom? |
Konquest:You have said well. But as to regulating the price of food stuffs the government should distance themselves from doing such except they would start to ascertain the quality as well. Also if the government would intend to regulate food prices then they will also have to regulate the price of every other thing that people pay money for and there are no exceptions. Absolutely anything and everything. |
yewit37486:If you get creative then you can. Just about less than 2 weeks mu laundry man said he has used flour( used for making meat pies) as substitute for drinking garri/groundnut. I can't say if he was joking. But like I said if you get creative you can do it. Just that you would not grind them to be smooth. |
Fgovernor:The only effect it would have is that all those who go into it would not complain about the not being able to buy foodstuffs. Also not sure about planting cassava but on a small land or even on a balcony you can have bags fill with sand and grow yam seedlings to maturity. |
budaatum:It's nice to know you do listen and obey your mum. |
Fgovernor:Yeah, we pray. But whatever little space of land we might have within our environment we just have to plant/farm some of these food crops. |
rolams:Garri has substitute. Its just that some of us are obsessed with cassava derivatives. All wheat derivatives used as swallow, plantain flour, yam flour, rice flour, maize flour...... |
SisterAnn:I guess we will have to brace up. Some of us will have to make farming a hobby to meet certain needs. Some of us will require bulk capital to go into large scale farming. |
jmoore:Sometimes ita better to put the location of where this prices exist. A friend of mine asked inquired from a lady in Kwale-Delta State just some days ago and was told #2800 if he were to buy more than 2 custard rubbers but #3000 for just one custard measurement. |
tommy589:That is not self financing. Self financing, is you generate your revenue through the services you offer and from that revenue you appropriate wages and other allowances for yourself. It's just like what any CEO of a corporate establishment will do. |
seguntijan:Please what you mean by self financing and how do they go about that because I do know the legislature arm is not a revenue generating body........ |
Kanixt:That 1 billion naira is what takes care of their hotel bills, every meal they eat, airtime/ data subscription, etc, etc, etc. |
ogugwa1992:Imagine where their interest and reasoning is. They don't even regards the lives of those whom the bandits, herdmens Boko Haram, etc,etc......have been ravaging over the years. We really need to separate and go different ways even if it means the 36+FCT becomes different individual countries. |
slim75d:Being in the private sector means youre rendering a service or selling goods and by that you're at liberty to increase your price just that you'll make it fair enough. I don't understand what you mean by those eho have no sector......even if one is without a job and is dependent on another then whoever is assisting financially will only assist the much that can be done given his income. You who receive only need to expend with wisdom. Those who help others financially do so not because they have plenty to spare but because they have a good heart given to them by God. I write this especially to those who are diligent about their jobs and who don't pilfer through mischievious means. |
Dapromzy333:Hopefully NLC will not back down till the FG does the needful and come up with a living wage and not a poverty wage. The Muslims can choose to back out because of their festivities. It will still not change the high price of food stuffs in the market. I guess there are Muslims within the Unions calling for the strike action, let's see if they will leave their post. |
