PoliticsRe: Tinubu Seeks UN Permanent Seat, Debt Forgiveness For Nigeria, Others by bixton(m): 9:19am On Sep 25, 2024
adenigga:
Source: https://dailytrust.com/tinubu-seek-un-perm-seat-debt-forgiveness-for-nigeria-others
Emphasizing the dangers of digressing from multilateralism, the Nigerian leader also drew the UN’s attention to the global debt burden undermining the ability of countries and governments to meet the needs of their citizens, trade barriers and protectionist policies destroying the hopes for nations, and the uncontrollable competition discouraging motivation and hampering global investments.

Whoever wrote this script for Mr. President is a very insincere fellow and thinks he is speaking to myopic minds.
Why would any African country and even Nigeria cry out for debt relief or debt cancellation!!!??

A nation takes a loan with respect to carry out certain projects and agreed to pay within a stipulated time frame and the project is not carried out and the loan gets missing through those who process the loans and the same government is telling the loaner to cancel the debt!!!!!

I don't get it,I thought they said they are trying to reduce the excess money in circulation so as to curb inflation. They keep hiking interest rates to achieve that.

And now they come out to say they are trying to ensure enough cash in circulation.
Many of the administrators and leaders holding political office in this administration are fixed on trial and error methods.
They don't have any idea of what they are doing.
This CBN governor is going to be worse than the previous. He is always chasing shadows.

Do you call people who earn below the stipulated nations'minimum wage or international approved wage on a daily or monthly basis as those considered employed?

https://tribuneonlineng.com/the-north-and-the-lingering-restructuring-question/
They are just saying long statements...
We all know what restructuring is but we don't know what kind and manner of restructuring the Nigerian government intends to put in place. But one thing is certain regional government is not restructuring ,and let's not deceive ourselves with that style of government anymore.

Restructuring is the FG firstly putting policies in place that will ensure each State is fully autonomous and they are made to mine and manage their land and water natural resources......A self styled resource control should be patterned to suit the time and age we are in.
If there are any States that feel and claim that they are not self sufficient and can't fund themselves, well let them think it out themselves....I don't believe there is any land that is not blessed with something of value and worth.

If the government are interested in that project as they claim then interested investors will not be a task. The government knows all there is to know and how to go about it.
It's could a good thing the Bonny NLNG is a signature project and it stands.

It's not a small thing to do. It will cost about $30 billion dollar or more to construct the two NLNG projects. The Brass project will cost about $20 billion while the Olokola project will cost about $10 billion.
As far as I'm conecrned such money is not a problem for Nigeria to have or get. It's the smallest thing.
The only thing which is not a small thing is the "will" to do the project by the leadership, by the President.

It's a small thing to do if the will is put into it. The money to kick start it is never a problem after all it's a JV .

I'm not saying obaseki is the best all politicians are corrupt but some are more corrupt than others
Honestly I don't really care who wins or not
I'm among the few female electrical engineers in Nigeria I don't get paid in naira so I don't care
But I have a lot of aged people including my parents who pray for Obaseki everyday because he didn't miss pension payments once in his tenure.
Obaseki is not the best but he did something
Yes, it's good he did not miss to pay pensions and I thank God that your parents are grateful to God for that and pray for him.
But that is not a good yardstick.

It's just like the governor in Bayelsa State that is being praised for paying workers salary as at when due unlike his predecessor but nothing else seems functional in the State.....

It's good to know you're a female practicing electrical engineer earning in a stable currency.
Not all are lucky...
Nice to come your way.

True.
Obaseki complained they didn't allow him fix the roads that anytime his engineers got to site they were always harassed by DSS who claimed the road was a federal road.
Umahi came out to say the roads has already been awarded.
It was like the roads were deliberately left unrepaired as a campaign objective...
I'm not defending obaseki but to say he did nothing is unfair to him...
He refused doing those roads during PMB's tenure and now you say DSS is harassing his engineers in this new admnisration and the Hon. Minister Dave Umahi......
Gov. Obaseki is a no good fellow like his predecessor.

There are numerous State Governors in the South South who construct and maintain federal roads and the federal government have given those States back the monies.....

Same thing he did in Rivers State, hyping 12 bridges for 8 years.

We are talking of trillions here guys.
Mention any governor past or present and even President that has embarked on the kind of projects that Wike has done and accomplished same within their tenures?

He pays for media that amount because it's the media that will sell the stories. Some admnisrators don't do nothing and they waste money on fake publicity, Wike has not been known to do such and now is not the time.

Even those roads you qualify as LGA roads built by him , also shows us who has done better given their own resources and tenures?

Asue Ighodalo will win next week Saturday governorship election 🗳 in Edo State . Wike will be sitting in Abuja and be watching the results of the election declaring IGHODALO WINNING in landslide victories.
Obaseki did not realize that Wike is not an electorate in Edo when Wike stretched a helping hand to him when Adams was almost done with him drowning him.
