Caretaker Chairmen is very unconstitutional. That is why everyone incoming governor removes the LGA Chairmen in place even though they were elected because the outgoing governor only did the election of bringing them properly just some few months to the end of his tenure. That has been the practice. Theres hardly any governor who does it right.

You seem not to have followed the issue from the beginning and what led to their social media decamping.

I don't even understand this issue anymore. Why will the Sultan be the one to appoint kingmakers?

We all know that the Constitution of the FRN supercedes all other constitution and everyone is expected to abide and adhere to it.

When a person is elected into office, even at the local government level, the person is essentially said to have received a mandate to serve for a specified term in a specified area, etc., by the people who elected him into power.

I don't pick words and stick to one aspect of it. Mandate encompasses alot of things. If it's not done then there was no mandate. By the way the people never actually choose a leader.

That's how it is. The governor should not be speaking from both sides of their mouth and choosing what suits them.


The issue in Rivers State was that the SHAM (State House Assembly Members) preinformed the Governor to conduct LG elections so that transition from one elected LG chairman to another is smooth but the governor chooses to go the old ways of selfish and greedy leaders.

Can all the state governors conduct LG elections within 3 months of their swearing in to office rather than put Caretaker Chairmen till 7 years in office and do elections when their governorship administration is coming to an end?

There are many ways for conflict resolution.. diplomacy is one very potent way with less damage done.

From reliable source, Wike actually brought the guy up and imposed him on Rivers PDP.. he didn't have the connections or that political sagacity to contest for Governorship seat in Rivers State, it's all thanks to Wike that he is on that seat he is in today.

Whatever might have caused the quarrel can be discussed in closed door roundtable meeting with royal fathers, youths representatives and elders in Rivers State present. Then they'll both have the floor to express their minds and say things from their various perspectives for those present to reconcile them.

It's only those who don't know what 'Federal might' is that will think Fubara can drag shoulder with his predecessor who is now in the Federal caucus. Yorubas are not like that o, don't know why Rivers people are happy taking sides while two of their leaders fight dirty.

Nevertheless Rivers people are majorly taking sides against Wike because of his fight with Atiku and mostly the role he played to seeing that PBAT won the elections.

We have never seen the police take over a government house because a tribunal kicked out a sitting governor.

The security operatives always give enough time for the incumbent governor to appeal the case until it's eventually decided by the Supreme Court.

The action of the police in this matter shows there are invisible federal actors, which give directives to the police, interested in this case.

I'm very sure you have read the judgment given by the Federal High Court and it was straight and plain to all understanding.

Mabe you should try find out the State Government submission on some aspects of the judgment.

Traditional institutions or religious leaders are not supposed to allign themselves with any political aspirant especially towards an election season. They are supposed to take a neutral stand at all times given their followers and people who look up to them.

Nevertheless the governor can bring in certain laws that can decentralize powers of traditional institutions that they would focus more on the welfare and development of the region they find themselves.

The Kano Emirate being carved into 5 is a good thing irrespective of the reason behind it. Because even those who claim that it is bad also have a selfish reason behind such to remain same.

With the knowledgeable base and intellectual capacity of Sanusi 2 , I expected better things using his influence for the good success of Kano but he went about getting himself in political issues in public places demeaning the office of the former governor and making it look like he did nothing.

We have stopped believing and listening to interpretation of court judgement by parties involved in the cases.

As for the legality of the CTC, you can as well challenge that in court.

It would be a waste of court process to do such as it stands now. The FG will not be sending forth LG funds to States having CTC in place. They all will have to conduct proper elections.

If the Hon. Amaehwule and 26 others are reinstated, then those former LGAC chairman will be reinstated pending when the governor truly intends to do the election and if the Court in Abuja goes in favour of the Attorney General/FG for LG autonomy and preventing States Electoral body not conducting elections then INEC will be funded to do such days by the FG.
