Kobojunkie:What does Section 7 of the 1999 Constitution provide for? Section 7(1) states emphatically that “The system of local government by democratically elected local government councils is under this constitution guaranteed; and accordingly, the government of every state shall subject to section 8 of this constitution, ensure their existence under a Law which provides for the .. I hope the attached file is found by you. Please do well to read it. That's the closest I can find. |
Kobojunkie:Caretaker Chairmen is very unconstitutional. That is why everyone incoming governor removes the LGA Chairmen in place even though they were elected because the outgoing governor only did the election of bringing them properly just some few months to the end of his tenure. That has been the practice. Theres hardly any governor who does it right. You seem not to have followed the issue from the beginning and what led to their social media decamping. |
Omooba77:I don't even understand this issue anymore. Why will the Sultan be the one to appoint kingmakers? This practice shows that something is wrong about that and there really is no royal houses in place. The history of the entry of the Fulani's and their Jihadist movement into Northern Nigeria and Nigeria at large needs to be looked into. |
Smartcitizen:Please put that constitution on here for all to see it as it's written. Is it a State constitution of a Federal Constitution? Thanks. Nevertheless that same constitution of the Federal Government of Nigeria disapproves of Caretaker Chairman to be appointed. We all know that the Constitution of the FRN supercedes all other constitution and everyone is expected to abide and adhere to it. |
Kobojunkie:I don't pick words and stick to one aspect of it. Mandate encompasses alot of things. If it's not done then there was no mandate. By the way the people never actually choose a leader. |
VillagePipu:Now let's just say if he bolded was to happen, this same people taking stand with the governors would be crying and shouting of abuse of power and failure in democracy. |
Kobojunkie:Speaking of mandate, I can't even remember when last it was the people actually have anyone mandate to serve!!! If we all understand what it means to be given such except we are just being theoretical!!!! |
politicoNG:Birds of the same feather...... The same way tenure of LGAC chairmen is unconstitutional likewise putting in place CareTaker Chairmen is unconstitutional..... That's how it is. The governor should not be speaking from both sides of their mouth and choosing what suits them. The issue in Rivers State was that the SHAM (State House Assembly Members) preinformed the Governor to conduct LG elections so that transition from one elected LG chairman to another is smooth but the governor chooses to go the old ways of selfish and greedy leaders. Can all the state governors conduct LG elections within 3 months of their swearing in to office rather than put Caretaker Chairmen till 7 years in office and do elections when their governorship administration is coming to an end? |
flokii:Theres so much that cant be written in social columns. Nevertheless Rivers people are majorly taking sides against Wike because of his fight with Atiku and mostly the role he played to seeing that PBAT won the elections. |
SoNature:Your comment shows it's either you have taken sides with your favorite Emir or you're allowing sentiments and emotion be at play. I'm very sure you have read the judgment given by the Federal High Court and it was straight and plain to all understanding. Mabe you should try find out the State Government submission on some aspects of the judgment. I just know that with all this happening, the laws will have to be amended because whatever is happening now shows that State Government will over over abuse their powers. |
ProudBoy:Traditional institutions or religious leaders are not supposed to allign themselves with any political aspirant especially towards an election season. They are supposed to take a neutral stand at all times given their followers and people who look up to them. Nevertheless the governor can bring in certain laws that can decentralize powers of traditional institutions that they would focus more on the welfare and development of the region they find themselves. The Kano Emirate being carved into 5 is a good thing irrespective of the reason behind it. Because even those who claim that it is bad also have a selfish reason behind such to remain same. |
treesun:The North does not tell the truth. The typical fulani Muslim does not have regard for lives. The only solution is that we divide and let everyone solve their the problems peculiar to their region which was caused by them. |
iwaeda:He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing his work on social reforms and supporting the welfare of Kano people. As regard the bolded, what does Sanusi mean by social reforms? Has the Almajiri system abolished in Kano? Are the rights of women been given and adhered to by the men? Even the Muslims in Saudi Arabia have better social reforms compared to what we have in Kano? With the knowledgeable base and intellectual capacity of Sanusi 2 , I expected better things using his influence for the good success of Kano but he went about getting himself in political issues in public places demeaning the office of the former governor and making it look like he did nothing. We all know traditional institutions don't publicly take any dominant sides in politics. Please can someone tell us how the Emirate come about in Kano that is older than that in Sokoto? What name was it called before it became an Emirate because I do know the name Emirate is a borrowed name and not from the regions in Northern Nigeria... |
CountinBlessins:Who are the people? |
hepiwano:Story story.....once upon a time. |
immortalcrown:One is a God of peace who fights for Himself. If you blaspheme Him, you might be forgiven but if you blaspheme His Spirit then doom is yours. He needs no one to fight for Him. But the other is not like the above. By their fruits you'll know who they are and who they worship. |
michlins:And do you think those people don't have monies invested in the dangote refinery ![]() Have you seen a public servant making mockery of a FG investment!!!! |
SoNature:Religion and Religious People. Only those who have something to hide will fear to be brought under public scrutiny. God is pure, the truth. Jesus Christ is the light sent into the world to bring man out of utter darkness. |

mannobi:Its better he be ridiculed and the court reinstates him fully. That governor is clueless and helpless. Let him continue to fight with himself. |
chokekachy:We have stopped believing and listening to interpretation of court judgement by parties involved in the cases. Please kindly post the judgment as given by the judge so that we the laymen can read and have understanding. Every party is bringing their interpretation, even the judges go dey wonder. |
God1000:This height of stupidity continues because the FG turns a blind eye towards such. If the FG through the security agencies give some of these people the same treatment they do to those who they kill then it will all stop. We cannot have a select few going against the constitution of the FRN and we all turn a blind eye. Then why are security agencies going about arresting those involved in yahooyahoo..... |
phantom:It would be a waste of court process to do such as it stands now. The FG will not be sending forth LG funds to States having CTC in place. They all will have to conduct proper elections. |
oyichi:The same court that ruled that failed to realize that CTC is also illegal and alien to the Nigerian Constitution. If the Hon. Amaehwule and 26 others are reinstated, then those former LGAC chairman will be reinstated pending when the governor truly intends to do the election and if the Court in Abuja goes in favour of the Attorney General/FG for LG autonomy and preventing States Electoral body not conducting elections then INEC will be funded to do such days by the FG. |
jmoore:This is not any SACRIFICE. This was done with the soul intention of ensuring that the NA makes a speedy approval that they buy a new presidential jet for the President. Otherwise, if its a SACRIFICE, my President would have entered AIR PEACE. |
Exceptional300:If you have a relationship with God then go to Him in heartful prayers concerning it. Let she also do same. Also together go to a specialist doctor for professional specialist advice. But know that with God there's no impossibility as long as you believe. |
Newlymarried:It's quite good they have seen the Nokia torchlight phone and it is in the hand of the woman's son. Just as she insisted that they should provide the phone for her and she does not need a replacement, please the woman alongside the vigilante that meet the innocent boy to death produce him just the way he was before they started beating him. All of them should be charged to court for commiting murder and let them be given the maximum sentence. |
Bonaventura:PGEJ lost because he refused to settle the differences he and his wife had against GCRA. Even the then PDD National Chairman who was a Northener advised PGEJ to settle the issue with GCRA, well he was advised otherwise and we saw all that happened afterwards. So leave GCRA out of it. Whatever that happened in the PDP that made PO going to another party is all political as usual. It's the same politics that still made PO who now was the LP aspirant went to solicit the aid of GNEW to be able to win the election. So all men are playing politics within the confines of their wisdom. |
Exousiang01:He is not among those eating such. |
