Some of us sometimes pretend to be ignorant of what is happening in this country . When same law was amended to enable gaduje regime remove a sitting emir without any crime ...many if you said nothing. Sanusi accepted his fate and moved on for peace to reign . A new govt is in place to correct the mistake of gaduje by following due process so as to bring about lasting peace in kano ...now everyone is blaming the govt for cooing the right thing? You re asking what crime did bayero committed ? Well chieftaincy matters are exclusive right of the state House of assembly. The state assembly has amended there laws which enable Sanusi to be reinstated . This is justice . Anyone going against it should be arrested ..isa way of undemanding the authority of the governor who is the person in charge of the state in question .Bayero cannot be bigger than the state . He should accept his fate and move on just like Sanusi did. If everyone devife not to obey state laws will there be democracy ...Those backing bayero is the problem here .
You are the one who is the problem.
We are all following the issue right from the grand father's time. So we understand the roles everyone is playing right from the time of Kwankaso till date.
The question is "why would the governor arrest the one he has dethroned"?
Why would the governor prevent the one he has dethroned entry into the State?
What is the offence?
Since when is dethroning someone now a criminal offence against the one dethroned?
You cannot arrest anyone based on presumptive offense.

The NLC should learn never to call of strike till agreement is met.

Hon. Benjamin Obaseki, brother of Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, has resigned his membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal turmoil and a disconnect between the party leadership and its members.

In a resignation letter to the Oredo local government chairman of the party, Benjamin highlighted the crumbling state of the PDP under its current leadership.

He said, "I am convinced it is time for me to leave for my growth as the leadership of the party has lost touch with its members and hence become insensitive to my plight," pointing fingers at the top brass, including his own brother, the governor.

Blaming the dire state of the party and lamenting the intense infighting at the state level, he added, "It is a pity that the infighting that has engulfed the party at the state level will consume the party, and I do not intend to be consumed alongside."

He warned that the party was on the brink of self-destruction as he expressed deep regret ove

Yoruba man and sense.

You proposed that Yoruba speaking part of Kwara and Kogi, and even some part of Delta and Edo state be merged with south west to form Western region.

But in the case of south east, you didn't propose that the Igbo speaking part of Rivers, Delta, Benue, Kogi, Cross River, etc be merged together to form South Eastern region, rather to show your true colour of hatred, you are proposing that the Ohaji/Egbema region, one of the oil producing LGAs in southern imo state be removed from South East to form part of Southern/Niger Delta region. Is it not shameless daylight witchcraft?
I'm sure down along the writeup, he made mention of optional and what deems fit for people in those areas, where they would want to belong to.
Nevertheless, it's only a proposal a d nothing more. The ibo speaking people in some(all) of the Southern States will not want to join the core Eastern States, so let's not fret about it.

Anyways it's a good start but to be able to achieve that a confab will have to be formed. But we don't need such now.
It would be easier and better if all the States be completely and fully autonomous with them having full control of their resources or 90% control of their resources. There should be creation of more LGA and RCDA depending on each State's peculiarity.
Whatever pattern we take there should be utmost decentralization of power. States who share the same ideologies though tribe and tongues may differ can come together to grow their economy by putting their collective resources together and sharing of resultant IGR.

You move the drink one side and order for another drink. Why you guys finished drinking, you paid for the drink he opened which you didn't drink along with the ones you drank.

When you get home you receive a WhatsApp from this supposed friend asking you what you see him as, that are you trying to say he was trying to poison you? You try to reply him but he has already blocked you on Whatsapp. You try to call him but it's showing busy meaning he has blocked your number as well.

Did I do something wrong. Why would you open a drink and pour it out for someone when he didn't ask you to do so?
This is not the first time I'm coming across this here on NL.
That person is a real suspect and wants to poison his friend. Even if your friend tells you to open the bottle of beer for him, you should not do such in his absence but when you go ahead to pour it into the glass, it already shows your level of seriousness to poison your friend through drinks.

l am not praying too! But why the Anger and Frustration against a Northerner becoming a President Which part of the constitution that says so? When Yar'Aduwa's died there was no issue against Ebele Goodluck Jonathan becoming a President. It was a Smooth and peaceful handing over the Presidency to him. So why your dislike and hatred on a Northerner. Please be matured and see things rationally and objectively. Drop this your hatred aside and wish Tinubu well in his tenure as the President. It was a do or die affair for him to become the President. We all saw the desperation in him to be a President. We all saw how he brought in the word "EMILOKAN" it was an unfamiliar word to most of Nigerians! So disabuse your mind and keep Northerner out of this. Northerners (Atiku and others) were very sympathetic to what happened to him and many others (who don't have access to media) felt the same way!!! Please no offense intended, l am only expressing my personal view and thoughts, so l beg no insults nor attacks on me. l am only telling you how to be objective and unbiased on national issues like this. So l wish and pray for him well. Such a fall on an Old, Aged and Unhealthy person like Tinubu can be very painful and may have unwanted bad consequences!!!
Half truths don't do justice.
There was not peaceful and smooth handing over to GEJ when Yar'adua passed away. We were all witness to the drama put up by the northerners. After all the hassles GEJ was made president out of an infamous doctrine of necessity agreed upon by the legislative house and the judiciary supporting it.
It is to this that they have amended the constitution to include if a sitting president dies , that person will be replaced with another from the same geographic zone.

Social media was sent into a frenzy on Wednesday after President Bola Tinubu, slipped while boarding the parade vehicle at the venue of the 2024 Democracy Day celebration.
The President, however, quickly regained his balance and continued with the proceedings without further issues.

In this article, 10 other world leaders aside from Tinubu, who had a momentary fall during a public ceremony have been highlighted.

1. President Joe Biden: In March 2021, United States President, Joe Biden tripped on Air Force One stairs while scaling the steps to Air Force One to Atlanta to meet with Asian-American community leaders on a massacre.

2. Robert Mugabe: In February 2015, Zimbabwe’s 90-year-old President Robert Mugabe fell down a staircase as he walked off a podium after addressing supporters at Harare International Airport.

3. President Gerald Ford: Former President of the United States, Gerald Ford, slipped on Air Force One in 1975 while visiting Vienna in Austria for talks with Egyptian President Anwar Sada.

4. Cuba leader, Fidel Castro: Cuban leader, Fidel Castro, in October 2004, fell off the stage in Santa Clara, Cuba. Castro broke his knee and arm in the fall.

5. Barack Obama: In March 2015, former US President, Barack Obama came close to falling down the steps of Air Force One. Obama was returning to Washington DC from a golfing trip in Florida when he bounded from the plane door only to lose his footing. He recovered and continued across the tarmac with the same spring in his step.

6. Mike Pence: In June 2020, Vice President Mike Pence had a moment remarkably similar to President Biden’s upward slip. Pence was filmed running, then tripping, up the staircase of Air Force Two.

7. Tommy Tuberville: In October 2023, Senator Tommy Tuberville, who has previously criticised President Joe Biden for falling in public view, was mocked online after a video showing him falling down a flight of plane stairs himself went viral.

8. Hillary Clinton: The then-Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, in 2011, was boarding a plane to Yemen when she slipped to her knees at the doorway and was only saved from further embarrassment when an aide gave her a helping hand.

9. Vladimir Putin: The Russian leader who loves to display his aura, saw himself on the floor during a 2019 hockey game he played in. He was doing a victory lap around Sochi’s Bolshoy Ice Dome and applauding fans when he slammed on the floor.

10. Boris Johnson: The former United Kingdom prime minister, was a victim of an epic fall after he tripped and landed on the floor during a charity tug-of-war game at a World War I commemoration event with Britain’s armed forces in 2015.

If the people didn’t want pilgrimages they would reject govt spending money on pilgrimages. Just like you would reject schools if you don’t want schools. Disavow yourself of the mindset that you have a right to determine what is anybody’s priority service from government. It’s called tolerance.

One could also argue It is also equally abnormal for government to deploy valuable government resources to quell self inflicted instability and insecurity in certain regions. I am sure the money spent on insecurity in the SE every year exceeds the money spent on pilgrimages. You could say if you want to go on pilgrimage pay for it yourself just as you could say if you caused insecurity in your region fix it yourself. You see you are not in a position to dictate what should be a priority service to me, neither me to you. This is why the old national anthem is needed to ram home that tribe and tongues differ and stop looking at things as if everyone must share our views on life.
I see, I guess that's the reason we are where we are as a country because of the old national anthem where tribe and tongues differ not in corruption.

Pilgrimage is a social service, that’s the function of government to provide social services. I don’t agree with it but for a section of the population that is what they want from the government. Government exists to provide social services for 200+m people not to use half of the whole income to pay the salaries of 1.2m largely indolent civil servants .

The point still stands the output of the average Nigerian worker is only N150k a month. It is from output one is paid. If you have a business you cannot pay your staff more than your income from sales…so also a country cannot pay it’s workers more that the output of the country. Nigeria has been unproductive and entitled for too long, now the chickens have come home to roost.
How did pilgrimage now become a social service?
How many countries offer such as a social service or we just like doing abnormal things because we don't know what to do with money and since it's government money?

Most government employees are lucky to be there at all when there are far more deserving people who don't have those jobs because they don't have a "connect". Why should we subsidize the struggles of government employees when we're also having our struggles?

So ridiculous as it may, we are all paying taxes directly and indirectly no matter the ridiculousity.
