Is it possible for a skilled boxer to lose a street fight against an untrained fighter?

Mickey Walker, one of the greatest Middleweights ever, got his ass handed to him by the local Butcher in an Apartment building landing. I think some of the newspapers at the time ran cartoons about it. I think he bothered the man’s wife.

There are guys out there who have unnatural brute strength and can take tremendous punishment. Couple that with the proper motivation (like the boxer spits in their 3 yr old daughters face) and adrenaline, and you have a situation where an untrained man may kill a boxer. Street fights are no joke.

A boxer will have an edge in a lot of confrontations, but it does not guarantee victory. Best not to bother people for no reason. Be humble, never mean, and gentle. You have no idea what is going on in another mans life. Leave people alone.

What is something I should never know?

I have always been the skinniest in my family.

One day, when I was in my teens, my mom told me something I wish she had kept to herself. She was breastfeeding me when I was a baby but her milk ran out and she couldn't afford to buy baby formula and so I was not fed at times. She believed that because I was malnourished I was not able to develop properly, hence the skinny me today.

What she told me next made me resent my dad for the rest of my life. After I was born my parents were having both marital and financial problems. My dad ignored his duties and responsibilities for our family but selfishly focused on his personal interests only. I was literally left hungry so he could indulge his drinking habit.

I have not stopped resenting my dad since I found out about this; he passed away when I was 19 and I had never forgiven him and still have not till this day. I don't blame my mom for telling me but I kinda wished she never did because then I would not have resented my dad.

I did not tell my story here to spark any sort of debate or argument about the characters of my parents especially my mother, nor the circumstances surrounding the event when they happened. THIS HAPPENED 50 YEARS AGO!

Many of you misinterpreted my story. I did not say I am skinny due to malnourishment, rather I stated that MY MOTHER BELIEVED because of what happened as such I am skinny today. However, this post isn't about my physical appearance is about something I wish I never knew because I do not need to add another unpleasant memory to my life.

A lot of you talked about FORGIVENESS. Personally for me, forgiveness is an OVERSTATEMENT AND IT IS OVER-RATED. I DO NOT FEEL ANY BURDEN OR WHATSOEVER IF I NEVER FORGIVE MY FATHER OR THOSE WHO HURT ME IN MY LIFETIME. Albeit I can not erase my past, but I just really don't think about them. How hard is that? Don't we all control our own mind?

There were many other things that happened I wish I never knew, but they did happen. However, life still goes on until the day I took my last breath!

What is the latest 2019 scam?

A few days ago I received a call from someone telling that he belongs to Reliance Life Insurance. He referred one of my earlier Life Insurance policy and informed that against my deposit of Rs. 30,000 the amount of Rs. 62,000 has been accumulated due to bonuses and loyalty additions over a period of time. This was surprising for me because the entire amount of policy he was referring to was withdrawn by me within 30 days under freelook period. This was due to reason that the policy bond I received was not in line with the promises made by the agent.

However, I continued to discuss with this person without informing about withdrawal just to know his intentions and modus operandi. I enquired what should I do to withdrawn the amount. Showing sympathy he told me either I would have to pay all previous premiums to continue or only amount for 2 years so that policy qualifies for withdrawal after 3 years annual premium (lock-in period). I told he that I want withdrawal, then he informed that he would have to send request to his IRDA for clearance in this regard and I would be receiving a call from Insurance Deptt for enquiry and generating a so called Code for approval.

The very next day I received a call from one person asking about the reason for not continuing the policy and after 2 minute discussion he told me that the he would be doing the needful within 2–3 days. The same evening first guy again called to enquire and advised me to keep on reminding so called IRDA person for approval. Third day thee IRDA person called and told me that he is releasing the code for approval.

Now on 5th day, the first person contacted me to inform that the approval has been received and now I need to send few documents and pay premium for 2 years and payment should be done through cheque favouring “F&F” instead of Insurance Company. The reason given was that it is for “Full and Final” settlement of policy. Now at this time I told him that you dont seem to belong to any Insurance Company because you are not aware that this policy has been closed long long back and are just trying to cheat me.

He disconnected the call and never called again. By sharing this incident, I want to send alert to all to be vigilant against such scams.

I was sick of it.

Every book publisher (Wiley, Penguin, HarperCollins, Hay House, etc.) said the same thing: “We’re great at marketing. We’ll take care of it for you.”

Then when it came time to publish the book, they all said something like, “So I guess you should start tweeting it out. We don’t do that.”

Then I would say, “Can you get me on any TV shows, radio shows, etc.?” And they would always say, “No, no. You have to do that. We have too many authors to do it for all of them.”

And I would ask, “Are we having a book party? Can you put an ad in the paper? Can you send to an email list?”

“No, no, no. You have to do that,” they’d say.

So what were they doing? I was giving them 85% of my royalties. What exactly were they doing for me?

Answer: nothing. Their editors were terrible. My second book published (out of 19) had a ton of grammatical errors. In one book, the editor rewrote some things, which led to factual errors.

The cover designs were awful. The publishers always negotiated final cover approval, so I had no say.

Finally, I decided I needed to take over.

Afghanistan, 2012. There I was.

Sitting on top of a village hut on one hot Middle Eastern day eating a Cliff bar.

The team I was attached to were conducting a “humanitarian” mission and I was providing over watch while melting under the hundred plus pounds of gear on my body. The only thing in sight were some of the team members that secured the perimeter and a herd of goats that grazed approximately 30 meters out. My stomach growled and I looked down through the neighboring hut where some members of the team were chowing down on the local bread and meat. I disgustingly looked at my sweating Cliff Bar. Bleh.

I got on comms and requested someone bring me a “hot plate”. Pretty much a big ‘F-You, come down and get some yourself’ is what I got in return. So as I took my ass down the ladder and over to where the food was being served, I was immediately attacked ……… by a goat.

This little SOB rammed me in the rear end and had enough force to put me on the ground. Not only that, he decided to mount me in a fashion that one could consider publicly inappropriate. It caused so much ruckus that everyone looked my way. I even disrupted the talks our Team Leader & Sergeant were having with the elders. It was pretty embarrassing but funny nonetheless.

So, have I been attacked by a wild animal? I would say yes…. people have no idea how vicious those goats can be.
