Its like lots of our married women are still living in the dream world, or they just don't want to accept the reality. Do your research from any part of the world, from Alaska to Australia, you will find out that out of every five married men, four are likely cheating on their wives, it takes an average of about 6-12 months after marriage for a married man to start cheating on his wife. Men are cheats and i can tell you, too many of us are doing it, As i am here, i cant vouch for any man when it comes to women matters, may be pastor E.A Adeboye, because of the respect i have for him.

jealousy indeed, who should be jealous, you are always saying sweet things about him every now and then, well enjoy yourself, it is always sweet when a good man meets a good woman, i usually tell people people, shine your eyes, if you marry an Omo Aye( I borrowed my friend's word for a real bad girl) all in they name of love, you carry cross. And most men can always do more than what you wish them do for you as per house chores, if you know how to go about it.

Pathetic or what else can u call it, it is a big pain and it is product of the society we created for ourselves, I was telling a guy recently that, we just recycle this women, we guys move from one woman to the other, thinking that we are catching fun, whereas it is a case of eating your cake and having it. There are so many bad women these days and they don't carry out their act alone, they do with men. What i am saying is that, we men made these women what they are today, it is unfortunate it happened to him, he may even be a good man, my advice for him is just to carry his cross, the children are grown already and they know him as their father, so he should carry on in as much as nobody will contest the kids with him, that is my opinion.

I see several people around me stay in marriage for different reasons other than cos they love their spouses.

Some stay cos of their personal resolve.

Some stay cos of the society - church influence, economic situation and all

Some cos of their family

Some cos of the kids.

Lastly, (with the smallest percentage) some stay cos they love their spouses.

From my observation, those that have stayed for reasons other than their personal resolve and the love of their spouses end up breaking up at a later year. So, it brings me to conclude that if all these external influences - societal pressure, family, church influence, kids and all are removed, most marriages would not last till their 3 anniversary.

Whatever your reasons for staying in a marriage will worth after all, all the reasons you listed up are the reasons for marriage in actual sense, one thing i have discovered about love is that, you choose to love someone, you can always love your spouse, if you choose to. For me, I m in my marriage for all the reasons you listed up there and i have chosen to love my wife unconditionally and she submits to me too, hence my happiness in marriage.

Hi BukkyDan, I guess people would have given you some good advices, i would advice you keep them up, one thing i will like to add is that, there is nothing you will ever again from any relationship with a guy at this your age other than heartbreak, jilting, or HIV as your mother has pointed out. I don't like preaching to young girls, because it is always a case of wasting time, most are like a dog that want get lost and will not hear the whistle of the hunter, just an adage in case it gets you high. Gud day all and Happy Val in arrears, I have been away for a while and its nice to come back and see this nice thread.I m using this opportunity to forgive the guy that made me loose my promising job about a year ago, Though i have forgiven him, i just cant get it off my mind but with this, i will even go as far as calling him on phone and see if i can reconnect my relationship with him again.
