The Kogi Senator who was sacked by the Court of Appeal said the 21 video clips he presented to INEC secretary, Rose Orianran-Anthony and the national commissioner Festus Okoye documented electoral malpractices witnessed during the election.

They said the decision to cancel the shows came after warnings of a shutdown from a group of artists and event organisers under the umbrella of Tshwane Entertainment Collective.
The Senate on Tuesday passed the bill for an Act to make provisions for the protection from internet falsehood and manipulations and related matters, for a second reading.
Only Senator Chimaroke Nnamani , a former governor of Enugu State, spoke against the bill while Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah raised a constitutional point of order to caution the red chamber against its passage.
However, Senators Ibrahim Gobir, Elisha Abbo, and Abba Moro supported the bill in their various contributions during the debate that lasted about 10 minutes.
The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan , put the passage of the bill for a second reading to a voice vote after confirming that no senator was ready to speak against it.

The above were the words of a 30-year-old woman Risikat Olabintan arrested by the police in Ogun State for throwing her newborn baby into a pit.
It was gathered that Olabintan, a resident of Ibukun Oluwapo Community Ishaga Surulere in Owode-Yewa threw her son into the pit shortly after birthing him on Sunday morning.
Fortunately, children who were playing later that day heard a baby’s cries from the pit located at the back of the compound and raised alarm.
The baby dumped
It was gathered that community leaders who assembled by the pit, alerted the police at Owode-Yewa Division who moved to the scene and evacuated the newborn.
“At the time the baby was rescued, no one knew it was the woman’s. She secretly gave birth around 5am and threw the child into the pit. It was later that detectives discovered she was the mother of the baby and she was promptly arrested,” said Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesman for Ogun Police Command.
Oyeyemi said the woman claimed she had no means of feeding all six children.
Asked if the woman had been examined for possible postpartum depression, Oyeyemi said she was taken to the hospital together with the baby for medicare.
“The baby and mother are presently receiving treatment at the hospital. The baby is responding to treatment. I do not know if her action had anything to do with postpartum depression but the woman said the newborn was additional burden to her.

With over 150 entries received from public and private schools, Nnachi Grace, a senior secondary school student from Queen’s College, Yaba clinched the top position in a keenly contested competition.
The prize-giving ceremony held at LCCI’s Commerce House , Victoria Island saw this year’s winner, Nnachi Grace walking home with 250,000 Naira in prize money in addition to other gift items from sponsors.
The competition, which is an annual event and the 4th in the series since its commencement in 2015 had as its theme” Harnessing the Potential of ICT for Economic Development’’.
According to the organizers, the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the criteria for determining the winner was tougher this year and the panel had erudite scholars from top Nigerian universities as judges.

agwom: The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has concluded plans to demolish no fewer than 140 illegal structures built on service corridors in Kuruduma II and Kpaduma II communities in Guzape District of Abuja. Mr Thompson Hope, Chief Town Planning Officer, FCT Department of Development Control, disclosed this while briefing newsmen shortly after inspecting the illegal structures on Wednesday in Abuja. Hope said that the department had earlier issued seven days ultimatum to the inhabitants of the affected illegal structures in the area, adding that as soon as the ultimatum expire on Monday Nov. 25, demolition would begin immediately.
He said that the development control had marked some of the illegal structures for demolition as far back as two, three years ago. He also said that the department had carried out several sensitise campaign to the indigenous communities for many years but they refused to abide by the FCTA regulations on land allocation. According to him, the indigenous communities and villages has expanded beyond the indigenous settlement and most of this expansion and illegal structures, the areas are been sold by the indigenous communities themselves.
He said that the department held several meetings with the leaders of the indigenous communities on the need for them to stop selling plots of land to the people. “We have severally warn the indigeous communities including the local chiefs that all the lands in FCT is vested within the confine of the FCT Minister and that they should desist from selling land. “But because some people are so desperate and desirous to build thinking that before government takes action they will either make one or two profits out of it.
“This illegal structures are already build on service corridors where plot allottees are desirous to develop their properties but because of this illegal development along the corridor they cannot take possession of their plots. “Recently, the FCTA has sent signals to plot allottees to take possession of their plots else they stand a chance of been revoke and that has put us under enormous pressure as a department. ” By our estimate, we have about 140 illegal structures on this corridors.
We have given them 7 days ultimatum and hopefully by the expiration of the ultimatum, we are coming to demolish all the illegal structures. ” The notice was given to them on Monday Nov. 18 and it will expire by Monday Nov. 2. ”Hopefully on Tuesday, we will come with our machines to demolish them,” he said. On the issue of compensation to the owners of the illegal structures, Hope said compensation was a policy issue that can only be handled by the Minister.(NAN)
President Muhammadu Buhari has just signed Executive Order 009 to end open defecation in the country by 2025.
The new order states, among others, “That by this Order, Nigeria is committed to being open defecation-free by 2025.
“That the National Open Defecation-Free (ODF) Roadmap developed by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources with support from other key sector players across Nigeria be put into effect.
“There is established in the Federal Ministry of Water Resources a National Secretariat called ‘Clean Nigeria Campaign Secretariat.’
“The Secretariat is authorised on behalf of the President to implement this Order by ensuring that all public places, including schools, hotels, fuel stations, places of worship, market places, hospitals and offices have accessible toilets and latrines within their premises.

Two girls reportedly lost the sum of N418,000 to a 22-year old suspected facebook fraudster, David Maduabuchi in Okpoko , near Onitsha, Anambra state.
The victims, Ogechi Miracle and Chinasa Peter, both 18 years were allegedly lured by the suspect on Facebook under false pretences of marrying them.
The Nation gathered that the victims had stolen the said sums at different times from their parents after being swindled by the suspect.
The suspect was also said to have collected some undisclosed number of laptop computers from his victims.
The police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, said the suspect has been arrested.
He said, “At about 7:pm, Police detectives attached to Awada Division arrested one David Maduabuchi ‘m’ aged 22years of No. 16 Chukwu Onovo street, Okpoko.
“Suspect specializes on swindling vulnerable youngsters particularly teenage girls on Facebook and hoodwink them into stealing from their parents and guardian for him.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that between the months of March and November, 2019, the suspect lured one Ogechi Miracle ‘f’ aged 18years and Chinansa Peter ‘f’ aged 18yrs on Facebook under false pretences of marrying them.
“Victims were further tutored by the suspect and they both stole the sums of three hundred and eighteen thousand naira (#318,000) and one hundred thousand Naira (#100,000) respectively at different times from their parents, as well as laptop computers which they handed over to him.

Igbo: A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Jackson Ojo, has advised the South to forget their dream of producing the President of Nigeria in 2023, saying at the expiration of his tenure, President Muhammadu Buhari would handover to another northerner.
Ojo stated this yesterday in Abuja in a chat with our correspondents. The APC chieftain while counselling the South to build a common front ahead of the next election cycle noted that South lacks the capacity to politically engage the North in a battle of supremacy.
In his words, politicians of South-West extraction currently agitating to replace President Buhari in 2023 lack the visibility and national acceptance to make good their dream saying, “who is there in the South that has the national clout? There are some people in the South-West that are making noise today, wanting to be President.
“The truth is that they cannot be President. That is it! Mark my word! APC Presidential candidate in 2023 will emerge from the north. The South-West will be given the Vice Presidential slot. And if the PDP takes its candidate from the South, then they have given the opportunity to the APC to win again. The south does not have the political capacity to fight the North.”
Justifying his reason for rating the south so poorly, Ojo, who doubled as Coordinator, Yoruba Youth Alliance added that the north has since left the south behind in terms of togetherness and unity; factors he claimed would determine who gets the Presidency in 2023
He continued: “The people of the South are agitating to be President of Nigeria in 2023. Is it by mere verbal expression? The North has 19 states including the FCT. The South has 17. There is no political synergy between the South-East, South-South and South-West. Each of them is standing independently as a pillar that cannot be moved but when you go up north, you will always get the traditional bloc vote because there is a unifying factor among them.
“Religion can unify them and they have leaders that can unify them. In the north, you have the Northern Governors Forum, the Northern Senators Forum and all that. Do we have these unifiers in the South? South-South is standing on its own, same with South-East and South-West. In the South, there is a multi-dimensional dichotomy, politically that is. Such a dichotomy can never be found in the North.
“Let us not deceive ourselves. What is the voting capacity of the North? The voting capacity of the South-South and the South-East cannot withstand the voting capacity of Kano, Katsina and Kebbi states.”
There are agitation by Southern politicians, particularly from the South-West and South-East for the zoning of the APC Presidential ticket at the expiration of President Buhari’s second tenure in 2023, with the likes of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Tunde Bakare being seen as likely aspirants.

The Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi (II), has filed a fresh application against the Kano State Anti-corruption and Public Complaints Commission (KSACPCC) from investigating his financial dealings. The state High Court, presided over by Justice Suleiman Baba Na Mallam, had adjourned his sitting until January 19, 2020, for the hearing, in the civil suit filed by Muhammed Munnir Sanusi (Dan buran Kano), challenging the legality of the KSACPCC to investigate him of alleged criminal embezzlement against the emirate council.
When the case resumed for mention, counsel to the plaintiffs, Dr. Garba Usman (SAN), moved the motion to include Acting Secretary of the Emirate, Alhaji Abba Yusuf and Kano State Emirate Council as 4th and 5th plaintiffs in the suit and the motion was granted accordingly. Other plaintiffs in the suit are Muhd Munir Sanusi (Dan buran Kano) Mujtaba Abubakar Abba (Falakin Kano) and Muhd Sani Kwaru.
It would be recalled that the Chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti- Corruption Commission, Muhiyi Magaji Rimin Gado,had commenced investigation of alleged criminal misappropriation of funds against the Emir, Emirate council and some of its staff. Before the commission completed its investigation, the plaintiffs approached the court through an ex-parte application urged the court to restrain the commission from conducting its investigation.
