Contango: Today, Sunday 20/11/2022, My friend was driving along Benin-Ore road to Benin from Lagos where a police man detained him for quite some time for having his car glasses tinted.
He recalled, that TheGuardian on the 20th of March 2022 had published that the police were only to demand for Vehicle License, Driver’s License and Certificates of Insurance and that drivers should report officer crossing the line. There was no mention of medical report or tinted permit for those whose cars were tinted as part of the documents that should be presented to officers on patrol.
He tried to argue his case that the car was bought January this year (2022) after the ban on tinted cars was lifted and he didn’t see the need to remove the ones that were on the vehicle when he purchased it.
The Police officer threatened to destroy the tint saying that the lift on the ban was for vehicles whose tint were factory fitted and not otherwise, and that they were ordered to destroy any tint on cars that were not factory fitted except on medical grounds.
Based on this new claim, We are now confused on the issue of tinted vehicle glasses and We’d like the Nigerian Police to make an unambiguous clarification on this issue again. Is it a crime to redress our vehicle glasses with cellophane vehicle tint?
If it is, then I think the issue should be re-addressed again. If not, then this has been a Clear case of harassment by this officer either on purpose or by his poor understanding of his job description and therefore appropriate measures would need to be taken to prevent such from re-occurring again in future.
My friend was able to record the event with a secret camera planted on his face cap. I’ll suggest that Nigerians invest in high quality spy cameras.
Attached is a link to the video and the photo of the officer.

Contango: I am not a dancer, but a huge fan of Michael Jackson. My favorite choreography has always been the dangerous dance and I had vowed to do it before I die!!!
Definitely far from MJ and other professional imitators but I am happy I was able to whip something up.
TheMatrix3: Cheer up boss. It gets better from here. Your friends story should encourage you to take charge of your life and create your own wealth. When life throws us lemons, na to begin make lemonade. Your day will come. Your glory will shine. You will make it happen. Maximum respect
Bro if u hear some people's case eh.., nigeria is just so fvcked up. My friend just turned 29. He has not had any job since he finished nysc at 25years and has been managing to teach home lessons to sustain himself. He cannot apply for gt roles now because most require one to be at most 25 or 26years old, neither can he apply for experienced hire because he has no relevant experience. He is stuck in the middle. He overheard his uncles mocking his dad for wasting his money in sending him to a private school with nothing to show for it. The dude drank sniper recenly but didn't die. I am now housing him and hoping good fortune from nnpc will smile on him. The guy is a academically ok. Graduated with cgpa of 3.78.
This has got to be my highest point of this NNPC recruitment and of this forum. That this guy got the APL is testament that life may not be fair, but is truky beautiful. Another thing is that suicide is never the answer, theres always sth more beautiful ahead if we hold on. Congrats to y'all jare.
He got, but I didnt get though. Happy for him considering his state. You can imagine that the guy was even feeling bad for me. I told him I am quite resilient and will move on. To be honest i tried my best to contain my pain on missing this job. Couldnt even login yesterday as looking though the thread fills my heart with much sorrow. But I am recovering very fast...
Tbh, this recruitment had some merit i must say. I can only imagine what would be the look on my friend's uncles faces that were mocking him
scobyy2007: It is well bro/sis you are not a failure. NNPC is not the source but just a resource. God is the main source..focus on God. I feel yous pain bro and sincerely with u on this. With or without you can make it far better than those that got this APL!!! what if after APL you die or something bad happens...APL is not the alpha n omega!!! peace, good health and life are key too. be HAPPY you alive for greater opportunities
Abeg oo. Why not make I hold this NNPC APL while I await the something that is far better...
1. My people, that my guy got the ApL oh... We went out rejoicing that i did not have time to post on NL. We are back home now.
Here's a screen shot to help give you a picture of what I am saying.
2. If there is onething I have learnt is that we should not judge a book by its cover. Looking at nuissancepolice posts, you will think the guy na mumu but i guess his getting ApL shows he sabi book small but guy, try to enpathise with people as cocococo said.
Congrats to you all. For us that did not get, we move. At least I still dey dangote cement process
Monmarri: Hmmm! Those guys are not serious. I did medical for cement this year, did not hear from them. No just put hope in them. Just go about your normal business. If they call you good, if they no call ride on. God got y back for the best job
