youngalex:Maybe not really highest bidder. I think they can accommodate anyone who has what they want. They usually have a lot of numbers on their expensive phones |
Atlantian:Oyibo is for real, black man is empty and decorating the facade to look like real. The facade is not the content. We have no content. (However, India committed the crime first by calling their movie industry "Bollywood" . |
Reyginus:My dear, you go shout taya. This country can never get what you're saying. They will only accuse you of jealousy. See the course the outstandingly brilliant guy studied. I wonder whether we won't need him afterall to evaluate the mental condition of our politicians and Nigerians at large. In my days, we know the courses our brilliant students chose to study at university. They have the courage to face the high cut-off point that JAMB would demand. Now, learning from my own tragedy, I also asked my younger ones to study the easiest courses that would guarantee them a very high class of degree and that's exactly what they did and they're enjoying now. Isn't it banks and oil companies most of them would be working for anyway? It's all about self my dear - there's no concerted co-ordinated national effort to develop Nigeria which would have placed strategic minds in strategic positions. In any case, it's still better than celebrating musicians, comedians, fashion and beauty pageants - but only just. NIGERIA IS A JOKE! |
xreal:It's easy to see how you're missing the point and you represent many millions of Nigerians. We're not saying she should have a degree. What we're saying is the wrongest, undesrerved people are the ones having access to opportunity because the system is in such sick health. Tell me what kind of values that kind of girl will have? In Nigeria, we access knowledge in the English language. If you're not conversant with the language, it's easy to see you haven't accessed much knowledge in your life and you'll be a burden on society's progress. I hate the craze for university degrees, but I know without knowledge, no society will develop |
Nigeria, the land of the apes (including the NGO/Civil Society trash) |
The purpose of elections in Nigeria is to have access to unimaginable wealth and power; so what do you expect? Politicians live for politics; that is the end for them and not a means to the end which is advancing society. Nigeria is a joke! |
9jatatafo:They're are all in a competition to see who can steal the most amount of money. Nigeria is a JOKE! |
As usual in Nigeria, everyone is wrong. What the student committed is also an abominable crime and if I were the principal, she must be dismissed from that school immediately and her record shared amongst all schools so she will not be able to enrol in any government school. Many people don't know how important it is to maintain order and discipline in society and when that girl starts from SS2, what will she be as an adult? |
Summary: Nigeria is a joke (unless your whole life has been about this place and you never raised your head up one day to check how other countries operate) |
olaolaking:Nigerian women are clowns. The only women suffering are the village women; those women who grew up in cities are using those helpless village women to get into undeserved positions to loot. Young women and girls are being unduly favoured in everyday life in modern Nigeria and everyone knows it. Let me assure you that when it comes to wicked and heartless things, women excel over men. "give our women chance..." Did you hear of Diezani? What about that pension woman oga that was paying herself 60million naira monthly? However, in developed countries, the fight of women there is to do that hard and dangerous jobs which men, out of chivalry and being manly, reserve for themselves. Today, women now train to become regular infantry soldiers alongside men in America. Nigerian women belong to the lowest human life anywhere in the world. Ask and do the research: they want to enjoy everything but do nothing. They want to be employed over men and yet they won't marry an unemployed man they took a job over. Result: countless "career women" without husbands and countless men without wives or good jobs. We don't know how society balances these things; we're just after our selfish interests and now society is dislocated, all because of our women |
winj:God bless you. We're killing ourselves in this country and looking for whom to blame |
BlackTechnology:No. He is right. You should think before you type. Government exists to prevent one from subjugating another and be a middle-man for people trying to come together to do something for one-another. Government does not exist to provide goodies for people. It is the government's fault for adding so many things that are now unsustainable to their list of duties. The reason we keep failing is we do nothing and say government should do everything. It's the fault of free oil |
Let them contract me to put CCTVs all over the school. It will cost less than 300 thousand and any misconduct can be traced for necessary action. I'm tired of complaints. Technology has made the world easier but Nigerian backwardness is resisting technology. Where we tech guys should be making money, we're starving and the country keeps complaining about problems we can solve. What kind of country is this? |
Nigeria is a joke ooooo! 10 billion naira? For how many people? 10 billion that NASS members will use to buy cars or one man will just steal, easy! How much was Dasukigate in naira? Over 600 billion in today's naira. So if the govt could fix all the unemployment by not giving Dasuki $2.1b on political patronage they wouldn't? We're not talking about Sanusi's $20b claim and NNPC multi-billion naira frauds. NIGERIA IS A JOKE! NIGERIA IS A JOKE! NIGERIA IS A JOKE! NIGERIA IS A JOKE! NIGERIA IS A JOKE! NIGERIA IS A JOKE!!! |
dokiOloye:Yes, let it be. If Buhari has enough blood brothers and sisters to take positions of trust in his own administration, I'm 100% for it as long as they discharge their duties as stipulated by law. When you get there, put your own if you like. I can't put mine because I don't have confidence in my own blood brother and sister. I'm freaking tired of tribal and sectional score-checkers. What kind of ignorant people are these in this country? Nigeria is backward because Nigerians are dumb apes |
Sammyashol:After writing so well, you ruined everything with the last paragraph. Things are this bad BECAUSE some time ago the military ruled us. If there was never a military rule Nigeria would not have adopted the values destroying us now. It might not have been perfect during the Balewa govt, but it could never have deteriorated to this extent had we continued. Do your part: go and read about how countries develop and what you can do. I couldn't find even one partner in my efforts as it is so bad in Nigeria. Complaining is easy and almost everyone indulges in it |
Quakertellicus1:I think it is 7 years |
Igobang:With someone of your reasoning amongst the younger generation of Nigerians, I wonder how many more generations it would take to flush you all out. Do I need to explain the folly of your talk? Nigeria is a jungle |
olajorn:Therein lies the problem as some guys find it difficult to accept being the last bus-stop of a well-used woman. It's tough to think women do play that game in Nigeria. This is why a tiny percentage of guys blessed with everything can claim to have misused and got tired of a huge number of girls who will then settle for one of those she had been mocking the whole time |
ycat:You must be a low-life. All you know is defining things in terms of ethnicity. You're part of Nigeria's problems. Read my posts, I've been on the side of justice and against Ibinabo or Novia. So how dare you insult and find me guilty based on ethnicity? Yoruba, Ibo, whatever are like APC, PDP, NPN etc that have lasted centuries. See PDP already claiming special traits for their members. Imagine how it would be for 3 generations of PDP family. YOU DON'T KNOW SHAIT ABOUT THIS WORLD |
anonimi:Thx for that. Nigerians have no concept of the state. All they know is their individual egos and all conflict is a conflict of two persons, and oh God, do Nigerians "beg". They love to "go beg am na". I hate begging. Do it and face the consequence. Proving it wasn't out of irresponsibility or premeditated is a means to mitigate culpability for a transgression which is still different from begging and which I would support. But sadly in this country, our culture of begging emboldens people to premeditate an evil and hope to get off by begging. They even blackmail the aggrieved should he not accept such beg |

So after 10 years, after a trial in which anyone could have struggled to convince a judge why their loved one should not be sent to prison, this one now comes out to spew trash?! Abeg she must experience prison; that money she is wasting at the Supreme Court will do nothing for her. If you did nothing when you had the time and now think you can perform a miracle, GOOD LUCK! If only our judiciary could be as upstanding as this at all times. I'm not interested in whether she's guilty or not; what I know is the court is the battle ground, not nairaland or the media. Abi you be Saraki protege? |
These mumus think they can get a free pass on the ignorance of most Nigerians abi? Nobody wants Nigeria to work; they think Nigeria is a massive cow for them to milk to death without feeding it. They say they spend 16 and 3 millions on electricity every MONTH and yet we hear they carry out operations with torchlight. Oya no wahala nau, I'm an alternative energy entrepreneur who can't find a client. I give them an open challenge on here: give me just one year's money on electricity (19m X 12 = 228m) and I promise you will always have electricity in your hospital, day and night for the next 10 years. Isn't that a good deal? I DARE THEM. Hypocrites! All Nigerians are potential thieves |
TheRealGEJ:That makes us two. Check all my posts - I usually insert "Nigeria is a joke" in them because I can see the farce. Buhari sold his soul to the devil(s) in order to achieve a personal ambition to be president (not a patriotic calling please). When you consider that he would never have succeeded if he didn't agree to dine with the devil(s), you will then understand why so many of us have been cut off from national relevance because we identify the devils and don't like our souls being sold. I'm sure there are a few languishing like me that I don't know too. Nigeria is not a free and democratic society; Nigeria is being controlled by some people and the rest of the masses have no idea or are desperately trying to get on the winners' side. Indeed, Nigeria is a joke! |
Let Nigerians keep deceiving themselves fighting "corrupt politicians". The culture in Nigeria is corruption. We live on sick values, celebrating material wealth and ostentation. Anyone who doesn't participate is hated and destroyed. Anyone who raises an eyebrow is a hater and an "enemy of progress". Nigeria deserve a lot worse than we're getting |
Since Nigeria is a failed state, the people are now gradually looking unto Dangote as the government to provide things for them. Just tell me if we had more Dangotes, big and small, in all areas of the country. Nigeria would have been much better. But people refuse to do, instead they all complain that government didn't do |
Contrary to the rants of hypocrite Ben Bruce, almost all Nigerians are potential criminals. Most will never get the opportunity to defraud anyone or the country. It is the culture here: materialism is celebrated; if you don't have all the possessions, you are despised. If Nigerians were not criminals my brother, very few of those multi-million naira jeeps and hundred-million naira houses will exist. However, most Nigerians would be well taken care of and society will be a lot happier and progress more easy to attain. All those opulence you see is money for all cornered by a few. Even those honest businessmen are second-tier beneficiaries of the fraud because their clients are likely the rogues who corruptly enriched themselves. Black man is like rat, only interested in his enjoyment and lacking the ability to see the bigger picture of the shame his race is in the world |
Forget all this thing; Nigeria is a fraud. Fraud is our natural default position. This very electricity management model in this country is a fraud; it is unnecessary and unsuited for our environment. This model entails that some major stations generate the electricity and most need a complex and precarious network of gas piping to even function. After that, they transmit the generated power hundreds of kilometres all around to companies that then distribute them. It is the same mentality of our society regarding governance, that everything must emanate from a source (leader) and be distributed thence. We don't need that at all. In today's world, the money wasted on this electricity conundrum since 1999 (some mind-boggling billions of US dollars) could have supplied an excess of solar installations in small units all over people's homes and small solar farms in Nigeria. The power will emanate from the homes rather than be distributed to the homes. The home becomes the beginning of the journey rather than the end destination. The areas near sources of gas may continue to use gas as their major source of electricity and suffer any consequence of pipeline vandalisation. The places where water dams are situated will continue to use hydro power as their major source of electricity. In fact there is absolutely no reason why power issue should be a federal government issue - it should be within the responsibilities of each state to provide electricity to their citizens. I am a weak writer; this issue has a lot more detail than I can have the patience to write here but those in charge with all the PhDs know this but they love the power they wield over the population and don't want to give it up. There's a huge fraud in the system. Black man is insincere about bettering his society |
FOLYKAZE:Tell the governments in those LGA that rather than turn a deaf ear and blind eye to your predicament, they should contract people like me to provide some alternative source of electricity i.e. Solar electricity. They can't continue to share federal allocation within themselves |
kaeforum:Undoubtedly you think this is how to run a system, much less a country. Nigeria is a joke! |
Let me assure all Nairalanders once again that we don't have any real problems in this country other than that which people are sabotaging the solution to. It is people who are responsible for making light available and properly billed. The number of people who have a stake in the continued backwardness of Nigeria are too many in number and too high up in positions where they can carry out such evil. Cry, my beloved country; Nigeria is a joke! PS: pls note that I am an engineer and have a particular interest and knowledge about power and electricity issues |
