I agree that they didn't need to post her sick pictures. However, I disagree with you on everything else. Early detection leads to a higher chance of survival. Fruits help depending on how aggressive the cancer is. If it is a metastatic one, it's going to spread and affect all your organs and you will die even if you drink all the carrot juice in the world.

I know several people that chemotherapy helped and are now living their lives with cancer in remission.

Oooops:
Thanks for this.
My only fear was he is just a kid. But since it’s not a serious issue that means I will go ahead with d surgery
It's not serious so you should leave it at least until the baby is like 5yrs old. The surgery is not a guarantee as it may still return then would you do the surgery again?

Have it on my hand and did the surgery (it's a minor surgery for an adult) and it still came back. For a baby, they would have to put him totally under instead of it being just a local anaesthetic. So, it is a serious surgery for a baby but a routine one for an adult. Please know that surgery comes with a lot of risks.

Your choice at the end of the day.

I won't be surprised to hear them invite you for their house warming since they are not spending any money training their kids.

If I realise that the family member is a spendthrift or not pulling their weight on their business, I can only help the kids directly and the only help I will render is to pay the kids fees. The rest is up to them.

But the same women and mothers repel the husband's people from coming over because of some stup!d beliefs passed down to them from generations. So how can they help with the kids when many of you folks naturally don't want to relate with your husband's people?

And btw, why should anyone take on the responsibility of training your kids? Why should that influence your relationship with your family? So my brother or sister should abandon their families and come look after mine? And when they fail to do that (sometimes owing to distance issues), they should be disliked?

Really??
I have said none of those things. I am speaking of a natural affinity for people who look after you. It's natural to be drawn to people who take care of you. You don't have to hate one side to love the other side.

As per training of kids, no one needs to do that even from the maternal side. I am referring to those cousins/nieces etc that stay with you while you enroll them in school. A symbiotic relationship. It's easier when the person is from the maternal side because those don't mind helping usually while those from the paternal side usually want to be waited on.

This is the reality of the Nigerian situation. Until men start taking a proactive role in taking care of their kids, it will keep happening.

Always quick at condemning your country..
This is crime and this is human. There are bad people everywhere.

I was watching a programme this morning where am American guy was informing the citizens to beware of phone snatchers while the victim is in the car.
Was surprised to know it happens in the USA too.

Just like someone said, what Nigerians call "bribery" is mostly called "lobbying" by Americans

We need to work against bad people. They are everywhere
Bribery is not lobbying. There are strict rules against bribery.

Sometimes, the people that help the mum with her kids are usually from the maternal side. The kids will grow up with affection for the maternal side. To be Nwa di ana is sweet. You can do no wrong in your maternal side.

Eating my food is not something I get angry about. There's a level of feeling free with someone that you will be able to walk straight to the pot. It's not out of spite or disrespect but familiarity and togetherness.

It's not the same with an inlaw that doesn't share any kind of cordial relationship or closeness just walking straight to your pot.

I have had even my husband's friends and some family go and open pot, fridge, etc. They eat and even take away. When my MIL comes, she could ask "wetin you cook?" or something but she she doesn't just go and start searching.

Even for me, there are some people I visit and I can go to the pot while some others I behave myself
So your MIL falls into the category of those who should behave themselves? Her going to your pot will be out of spite and disrespect?

Not when one is not home. I mean just coming to your house and going to your pot. Whatever rocks their boats.

Ask away .
Means if you marry into my family you go vex tire. Mama, papa, brother, sister, everyone goes into the pot or fridge and takes what they want. However, we will always ask for permission before we eat. Everyone cooks whatever they want in anyone's house. Who has time to be babying anyone up and down. I'm happy we all married into the same type of family or everyone adjusted after marriage. Thank God nobody will come and tight chest about going into someone's pot.

Can I ask you a question without you being offended? If you were to separate from your wife now and start living alone, by how much will your expenses reduce? You will still have to pay internet, rent, phone bill. Your utilities will reduce as it's just one person but you'll pay your transportation and grocery bills. You'll also have to prep your meals by yourself.

In this case, one can’t even dismiss the possibility of postpartum depression adding to the imbalance that’s obviously already in place. It’s a recipe for disaster.
I can imagine her life. 3 kids all under 4 yrs old. She'll be so stressed coupled with postpartum depression. That's not to excuse her behavior. Being unexposed is a bad thing.

My Application was rejected with the attached reason.
In my cover later, I explained thoroughly the inflow of 1.4 million as a bonus payment from my organization. This was even the narration of the credit. I transferred the money to my savings account and used it to buy treasury Bill's. I thoroughly detailed such including my other savings in the account. This is even outside the closing balance in my current account.
I uploaded family pics of my parents and I, their national IDs and the birth certificate including my car papers and house rent receipt to show home ties.

Please advise on what I need to do as all there is no significant inflow outside salary and the bonus mentioned above that is in my account and I provided all evidence to show such.
Can I appeal this decision as I believe my Cover letter was not read and my application was not thoroughly reviewed
You could include your employment letter that shows you are entitled to a bonus based on performance and that was what was paid. Then the rest of your explanation can fly.

Next time, don't argue, don't explain, just tell them you are taking the 'victim' to the hospital. Take him to a government hospital and abandon him.

I was in a similar incident 2 weeks ago. I was on the right lane, about to enter my street on the right hand side. I trafigated and horned at the same time , sufficiently. One useless abokii still felt it was wise to overtake me from the right hand side. I swear i didn't see him. Next thing I heard was gbooooo. He hit my right passenger door and went down, my back tyre climbed his motorcycle. He wasn't badly hurt, just a few scratches.

Next thing you know, I was surrounded by a crowd of abokkiiis, all insisting I take him to a hospital and pay for his bike. I obliged, put him in the back sit, and drove towards a hospital while the others followed behind. Instead of a hospital I drove to the police station. They all came in with me. I made a police report, and insisted that I won't pay a dime for the accident. I offered him 1k to treat his wounds. The police men were insisting I take responsibility, I told them to charge me to court if they think I owe anybody. Las las we dey station for almost 2 hours, they told us to return the next day.

I went, aboki did not come again.
There was a story about a couple of years back of someone who an okada rider hit but died. The person ran to the police station in VI and the mob of okada men drew him out and killed him there, burnt his car as well. Police station is not that safe.

I know someone that okada hit and broke his hand. The mob still insisted that he should pay for the okada man even though it was the okada man that hit him and he was injured. I just can't deal with those okada people.

You made a mistake in filling out your application. In the column where it asks for income from investments/other sources, you were meant to input the interest generated on the investment and not the principal amount. The principal amount can be used where it asks for how much do you have to cover your trip? Your Fixed deposit certificate will not correlate with the info you have provided.

My 7 and 8 year old boys can and do make breakfast for themselves. My husband taught them well. How can you not have time for kitchen but you have time to eat?

You guys need to tone down on the abuse. Being verbally abusive to each other does not create a loving environment, it causes everyone to be defensive and looking for war.

Imagine if she had returned and told you about the bashed car and you had said something like, " Honey, I am so sorry that it was because you were rushing home to make breakfast for me that you had an accident. I truly appreciate all your efforts in keeping the home happy. Thank you darling. Let's not make a big deal of the bashed car. Let's see how we can fix it and not let it happen again". Then you give her a hug and a kiss and show her the breakfast you remained for her. Tell me you guys wont be having a great time.

You cannot change someone's behaviour but you can only change your reaction. Please, enough with the abusive words. They are not good habits to form.

Thanks.

She said she was following one book like that. It said she should wait until he was ready. The boy never ready till now. He knows what he is doing but will never agree to poo in the toilet. Sometimes, he will agree to pee in the toilet but most times, he will hide his diaper or tell her when he has peed or pooped. It was when he'd daycare said they might have to stop him from the daycare as he is still not potty trained was when she started looking for solutions.

Book is now in the thrash.

How do obodo oyibo people get their kids toilet trained? In Naija, we will take off the diapers and be taking to the toilet regularly. School will also help and do same. Abroad, they have to wear pull ups in daycare and they are not interested in taking them every hr to the toilet so whatever traction you've gained during the weekend will be lost during the week.

My cousin called me for help because her son is almost 4 years and would rather poo and pee in the pull up than in the toilet. He will start proper school soon and is still in diapers. No developmental delays in the boy. Otherwise sharp and pleasant fellow but this issue is not allowing the poor boy sleep well. If you see where he hides pull ups eh because he can take them off himself. I have no clue because na Naija style i do.
