Prepaid meter is not your solution as whatever debt you owe will be spread monthly on your prepaid meter.

You can write to them to disconnect you while you sort out the issue meaning they will disconnect you and you won't be billed going forward.

While your case is going on in NERC, go to the Business Unit office and ask to speak with the Commercial Manager. Ask for a concession on your bill. IKEDC usually has some promos they do. Stuff like pay 80% of your bill and they write off the rest, pay a percentage before a deadline and get a prepaid meter.

NERC help but they are overwhelmed by the numbers so it takes a while.

Guy even me too, mine is 1.2million naira through my agent. My visa will be out next week hopefully. Honestly I know 3 people who are in turkey and doing very well. One of them was my couremate but dropped out. He just finished his duplex in the village last December. His family is in Port Harcourt but he frequents home. The other is just a small boy of 28 years doing really good. Has two houses right now. No country is an Eldorado but believe me you can't compare Nigeria to turkey. Nigeria is burning.
What if they are into drugs? They won't tell you that. 1.2m is too much for Turkey visa that you can get yourself. Except you mean that they will present forged documents.

Raising children is the sole responsibility of both parents. Women are good at looking after and taking good care of children. That's why God made them as helps to men.
Par adventure she dies, the man can re-marry and allow another woman help him, so they can both take care of the children.
He should imagine that his wife is dead and marry again na. Mtshew.

Imagine the mindset. I thought they said the children will look for their father? They are here now. No looking for.

I have plans.

We don't normally celebrate Val's day because we feel it is a commercial construct but I want to surprise him this weekend.

We plan on going out with the kids somewhere fun the next day. I want to decorate our room with all those Valentine decor, roll a joint, wear my sexy police costume and have fun. grin

Wish I could film his surprise.

This is exactly what is killing many Nigerians.

Someone on the first page commented with "touching"

I wonder why we all let emotions to control us first instead of asking questions or reasoning the cause of her being there at that time of the Night.

What was she doing during the day??

Isn't she supposed to be at home by that time probably taking her rest or gone to bed.

What type of parent would allow her child out by that time of the Night?

For her to do her assignment by that time it means she is playful, lazy, and un serious. A kid does his or her assignment first thing immediately he/she approaches home.

Let us not allow sentiments blind us, but see things in the right way.

Her parent should be questioned . Before nicompoos would quote me, make sure you have a good reason else, stay off.
I think she probably hawks during the day after school. This would be the only time she can do her assignment and probably doesn't have light to do so. Irresponsible parenting , I agree but the girl is very determined.

In Nigeria, mental health is treated with levity and people always poking fun at it. Imagine how hard it would have been for him as a kid to get the help he required.

It's not his aunt's fault. She could have been the best parent to him but that did not solve his issue.

Normally I would have said you're being nitpicky but I have learnt not to dismiss people's hurt feelings.

Your BIL might feel very free and comfortable in your house and with you so he doesn't see it as a bug deal. You may want to bring it up in a joking kind of way like you all are getting to know each other, living together etc, you would like to be serving him his meals as you feel it's somehow for him to be dishing it himself/cooking. Make it seem like it's some sort of honour.

As for the other house chores, a lot of Nigerian men are wired to see it as the wife's duties, so that may take a lot of getting used to if he will even do them at all.

Greetings has caused people a lot of grief but I have no advice as I am usually guilty of forgetting to greet (cos I'm always distracted).

3 is too much. Shady people
There are different reasons to have multiple numbers. If you have those modems that you plug into your laptop to be able to browse, you need to register that number. If you have multiple of such modems, that's multiple numbers.

If you have a home phone/landline for the kids, it still needs a sim card to work.

Most people also have at least 2 numbers on different networks. An additional one may be a business line.

And on and on.

Oyedepo is now a victim of fake news grin grin

SM bill would have cured all this madness but we muse politicize things in Nigeria.

Oyedepo should carry his L away.
Anyone that is a victim can sue for slander or libel. But saying people should be killed or jailed for a purely civil matter is taking it too far.

I think another actor (Muna Ibekwe) died of kidney failure and many of his colleagues did not attend his burial. His casket was placed on two benches. He chose not to ask for help and died in silence. I felt sad for this case. The actors need to have enough money to look after themselves before attempting to help their sick colleagues. So let's not blame them because many of them are struggling.
The emboldened is not true. His colleagues attended his burial and had a candlelight service for him. They contributed towards his burial. You're right that he didn't ask for help because he thought he could cope with the expenses.

Have experienced it before, don’t mind ECOs, their intention is to refuse without proper assessment of applicant visa form.
I don't agree with your opinion. It's your responsibility to prove to the ECO that you can afford the trip comfortably, you have every reason to come back, you plan on visiting where and when you will and you will not use public funds while in the UK.

Whilst reviewing, if the ECO sees something that doesn't support the above, he can stop assessing right there. No need to assess the rest of your documents as it would be a waste of his time. Some though, just to ensure they are convinced that they have to refuse you the visa.

There was one guy on Nairaland the borrowed money from a loan shark. You need to reach out to him to help you find him. He will help you collect your debt else he will give the person poo and wash it down with Lacasera till the person coughs up the money.
