Why going for Msc that will cost you a fortune while you can get PR with your profession. Agricultural related profession is one of the easiest to get a PR besides some states and regions will be willing to sponsor you. |

LadyHeaven: hello sir, pls does Deakin still offer the discount? because i didn't see anything like that? Deakin doesn't accept application from students in naija directly without using a third party, contact the school they will direct you to their representative and you'll find out more about the package. |

Aub430: Please guys quick question, what's the best way to got to Australia with dollars? I have not opened an AU bank account and definitely too late for that. Open a domiciliary account in naija or come with your USD, enough currency exchangers on your way at airports, on arrival or any city you are heading to. |

Softkey: I understand your point, but it is referred to as Scholarship and clearly stated. I'm not disputing the fact that they called it scholarship, Deakin started similar thing about 2years ago likewise La Trobe, Monash and some other Unis, though you save couple of thousands in tuition fees but is totally different from PhD or research work where you won't pay a single $ for tuition fee. Its just a strategy to entice more international students in believing that they are paying lesser fees, in the real sense those schools know what they are doing. Saintbusco1: with the discount, is it still possible to gain scholarship? if yes how will the person make the rest of the payment, like after the discount and scholarship I won't say is not possible but haven't meet any naija on full scholarship coursework but heaps of Nigerians on PhD scholarship and heard about a lady in Uni Melbourne doing research program full scholarship. I know of 3 Nigerians in Deakin enjoying the benefit of the discount, as regarding the payment of the outstanding fees, you source for it like every other person. |

Softkey: Some schools do offer partial scholarship for international students even for MSc coursework. E.g Macqurie University. Yes you can pay per semester There is different between scholarship and discount, what you stated is actually discount and not scholarship, some unis adopt such strategy to entice international students. |

Your best shot is graduate entry of nursing with a strong SOP stating why you are changing career path as well as strong home ties while applying for visa not sure if Bsc nursing will fly if you tender your philosophy degree. |

Dubyz: Good morning all, please I’m new here. I want to study graduate nursing entry in Australia, though I already have BSC accounting and post-graduate diploma in education. However I was told that I can travel with my children and husband if I’m able to get student visa. Please how true is this and is there any other thing I need to know in this regard. I have already written IELTS exams and my husband will be my sponsor.
Please I need your advice Based on my personal opinion and what have seen, it will be hard for you to get a visa for graduate nursing entry level due to your initial degree but not impossible. Have meet two people with similar case like yours but they came in with the intention of studying Masters relating to their fields and after their first semester, they switch to graduate nursing thereby forfeiting the first semester fees, you may consider that if you have enough money to throw around and secondly YES you can travel with your family if you include them while applying for visa. Dubyz: I was told that with graduate entry nursing I will have 2years post study visa that will enable me to work. My husband won’t be joining fully rather he will be visiting us since he has a steady job here. Then my kids are still too small to be left behind. They are 3 and 2 years You will be eligible for post study work visa upon completing your studies but sincerely you have to plan very well, coming here with kids won't give you the opportunity to combine studies, working and taking care of your kids together unless you have an external strong financial backing that is the only way you have it easy. |

chidike: Hey guys! So I'm moving to Melbourne at the end of the month after spending a year in NZ, and I'm thinking of a nice sub to live. I've been to Melbourne before but that was more of a tourist visit, so if you guys can let me know suburbs to avoid, I'd appreciate. I'm looking for somewhere close to the CBD, which is where my office is located; I have a few in mind; Fitzroy, St. Kilda, Brunswick west, South Melbourne, and Yarraville or South Yarra. My budget is to not exceed $400/week. What are your thoughts on the subs I listed, I'm also trying to avoid places with a huge South Sudanese community. Thanks. Avoid Dandenong as well as Footscray, among the suburbs you listed St Kilda is the most expensive due to it closeness to the beach and social activities but with your budget you should be fine, South Yarra is a nice suburb and also expensive, Brunswick and South Melbourne not bad but Yarraville is a bit boring. |

If my memory serves me right, you have been in Australia for almost 2years or more, how many Nigerians have you meet that came in through Vocational Studies? What lead to the argument was high risk or no risk, just compare and contrast how DIBP used to issue Nigerians visa coming for higher education between 2015 to early 2017 and now, there is a sharp drop talkless of a VET visa. |

No one is saying Australia doesn't grant vocational studies visa to ppl, there are heaps of Chinese and Indians on VET visa but that can't be said of naija, if you don't mind why can't you expatiate on how your sister get her VET visa. |

They issue visa even for vocational studies more as long as you proof your gte beyond doubt. I can give you evidence on this if u care to know. Don't come here and talk about what u don't know. The more u look, the less you see. Kindly list the colleges for confirmation and also give reference of ppl you know they gave visa for vocational studies from naija and not those that came here and switch. |

bunmmy5: The risk is not that high bro, all you need to know is that if Stanley college is AL-1 school and if so, you need to bury your degree and make use of your O level then back the rest up with working experience and certification. Note: Level one school can only work for advanced diploma. No college in AL1 schools, AL1 is a list of top seventeen Australian universities. There is a high risk in that, more documents to convince the CO besides when last have you heard of DIBP issuing visa to someone coming to study advanced diploma program in a uni here talkless of college from our part of the world, very rare. |

Be careful o. Do you know how many ab0kis are migratin' to Lagos in trucks & lorries everyday?
Is it because they smell the same as cows so you don't notice them? 80% of those doing okada and gateman in Lagos are not Nigerians talkless of being real Hausa, most of them are from Chad/Niger. An average typical Hausa man will prefer to wallow in abject poverty in Kano than to come and hustle in Lagos. |

Please I have a few questions, please is there anyone in the house that is familiar with Hobart, the University of Tasmania to be precise? I have an offer to do my PhD research in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on condition monitoring. If anyone is familiar with that area(i researched it, it's a little island state), please what are the job prospects like? I have a BEng in Aeronautical Engineering and an msc in Maintenance Engineering. Thanks. To be sincere Tasmania is dry, haven said that you can go ahead with your program, get your PR and move to happening cities. |

Go to any centrelink near you, tell them you are a new immigrant and they will tell you exactly what to do, go to any public transport station tell them you need a concession card, they will ask for your status and see if you are eligible for one. Move around, find a religious gathering, mix and ask questions, make use of the internet and with time you will be good to go. |

My husband has 12 years experience in Digital banking. Bachelor degree in Electrical engineering (2006). Msc project management (2015).
My question is, if it is okay to send only his masters (msc project management) transcript for assessment Or will bsc (electrical engineering) be better?
Will really appreciate your responds.
Thank you. Madam, project management isn't on the skilled select list, his only sure bet is electrical engineering and will have to assess with EA. He may not be able to claim points for work experience unless his job roles as a digital banker correlate with core electrical engineering job roles as stated by ANZSCO. |
