Hello all, I was directed to this thread by a friend and the love and support here is next to none. Well done all and keep up the good work. We all shall smile for joy in all our pursuits IJN.

I'm working towards applying to QUT for masters in international business for July intake unfortunately slot for IELTS exams for February is filled up for Abuja. I've submitted application for 3rd of March. Here are my concerns:

1) my university is on strike and can't get my transcript, can academic and work recommendation letter buy me some time? that is apply and during the period of review hopefully sch Shd be back on session.

2) my english test is on the 3rd of March, must the result be out before I apply for visa? If yes when is the likely time for the results.

3) any idea of the deposit fee to QUT before CoE is sent to me for visa application.

4) if I get a letter of employment post dated towards the completion of my masters program will it help in any way? If this same entity is willing to provide sponsorship letter, statement of account, tax clearance but no direct no relationship to me (the MD to one is igbo and the other Yoruba) I'm Yoruba, will it help?

My Documents available are: current employers letter of introduction, academic and work recommendation letter, SoP, Waec and Uni certificate, intl passport, NPC birth certificate, CV, personal statement of account of 4million with an inflow and outflow of 15million.
Before you apply for any course, check the availability of the course on MLTSSL because the main purpose of coming here through the student route is PR, check if international business can actually lead you to PR in order not to waste your time and resources. My 2cents.

Can one survive he/she takes 500k out of Nigeria to Australia and be able to pay for living expenses and tuition for 3 semesters while working and studying.
500k should be within the range of AUD2000 or a bit lesser, i came in with a figure that is far below that infact a rediculous figure but to God be the glory i weather the storm. It is possible to work and raise your sch fees but to be honest with you it is a very hard task, only few ppl manage to pull this without assistance unless you switch to sch with lesser fees.
The analogy is this, if you are able to secure a job with a weekly pay of AUD1000 after tax and is constant which is very rare, that shouldn't be a issue but to be frank with you only 2 out of every 30 students are fortunate to secure a single job of such pay, most combine two or three jobs. Another factor you will consider is how will you combine academic with hustling for sch fees, if you are used to it no qualms but the truth is initially you will need an assistant before you fit in properly to the system.

PS: I am referring to those on student visa applying for their spouse.

You are absolutely right my dear.
The moniker in question that changed school upon arrival. The moniker arrived early enough and he was lucky the process went smoothly without hinderance.

Most times the school policy or procedure in changing most especially from their own uni to another uni might not be as fast the person might wanted it.
But changing course to another course in the same school is always straight forward and involves less time.

Is also good that the moniker knows that his is going to forfeit the initial tuition fee he paid so that he can prepare himself ahead in terms of finance.

God bless you bro!.....

I have followed every piece of your advice on this platform.

Are you in Brisbane?..
Am heading to Queensland
I am in Melbourne.

I also applied to AL1 school as well and so many other persons here. Make sure that your first degree is inline with your post graduate program you are going for.

I was asked
to provide Statement of account.
The era when people use AL1 schools to escape freely has gone.

You must meet the required GTE like other students. No doubt AL1 schools has some unseen advantages.
One thing again the country where you are applying also matters a lot. Recently Nigeria were moved to a higher risk assessment level.

Also, after paying the tuition deposit, is he going to forfiet the deposit he paid initially?..
No doubt people transfer from one uni to another uni so far as you don't go below the education level of which your were granted your student visa.

@ Bligs, I will like you to help this moniker in finding out how those Nigerians transferred to MIT and wether they forfeited the deposition they made initial in their previous AL1 schools.
That will help the moniker to prepare himself ahead!..
Thanks for this wonderful insight and may God continue to bless you. Information is power!..
Most i have meet and heard off are after their first semester with their initial unis in this case your first semester fee is gone however, there are few who change sch and course upon arriving (one is on this forum, can't recall his username for now) in this rare case you can apply for refund. The implication of changing sch or course after your first semester is that you will have to apply for visa extension at the expiration of your initial grant.

Thanks you so much for getting back at me @Albion05 it is a post graduate diploma program which after completion I intend on proceeding to masters. I have taken in consideration everything you mentioned. I sent the school a mail and they replied saying int'l students are to apply using an authorised MIT representative in their country and if there are No MIT representative in your country, ur application will not be able to be processed. Unfortunately, Nigeria is not amongst their list of countries with MIT representative. I'll really like to know if there are any Nigerians schooling there and how they went about it ? Thank you
Heaps of Nigerians in MIT but they don't enter Australia through MIT, they entered through AL1 unis and cross to MIT due to cheaper fees, getting to Australia through MIT maybe difficult due to the fact that you have to provide extra documents to DIBP to proof you are GTE because MIT isn't a AL1 school. Personal opinion, go for AL1 unis.

Hi Bligs, if one gets in with the 18 months visa, what are the ways one could pursue the PR parole?
Thank you
Same way other offshore applicants apply for the PR just that you maybe fortunate to secure a job in area of your study and if it last for a year extra 5points, and some employers maybe willing to sponsor you which is also additional points.

Please is Germany among those countries?

Yes....Business informatic...from a Uk uni.

What will he apply for from Nigeria?
Will 4.2m be enough please?

God bless you.
Don't know about Germany, you actually have to do a little research on your own regarding the visa subclass and degree certificate that are eligible for the visa, never knew such visa exist not until i meet a naija couple of months ago that studied engineering from UK and was on such visa and he mentioned UK, US and Canada as eligible countries. 4.2m should be more than enough to process the visa.

Goodmorning everyone,

Please I will like to ask anyone here....

Please is €10k(4.2m) enough to enter Australia via student route?

I'm planing to help a friend who is frustrated with naija situation.

He has Bsc from Uk, ielts and see migration to a better country as solution.

I'm from german thread hence am a noobs here.

Thanks.
If his Bsc is in engineering or any other related course from UK, US and other few selected countries, he can actually apply for 18months post graduate work visa and run his PR parole upon getting here.

chai.. i have spent a lot in processing this one year diploma course oo.. What do I do now. Do I reject it and process my masters for two years?
That will be better for you because after the one year course and you are unable to get a PR before your visa expires, na naija straight oh unless you enroll in another course and apply for a new visa, moreover make sure your course is on the MLTSSL.

Hello guys. I'm new here. I applied for a diploma course for one year which costs AUD6500 for that one year course. my question now is "if I been given admission with my Coe, would I be rejected at the embassy for applying for just a year course instead of two years? (Because I haven't really seen people on this thread applying for diploma, everyone just applying for two years course at the university)" Plus the fact that my SOA is very intact?
Two years course has an advantage of applying for two years post study work visa after graduating, that is why most opt for two years program, your strong SOA won't aid you from facing a strong scrutiny from DIBP because of your intending program, my advice for you is to apply for a two years graduate diploma course with a path way to Msc and back it up with strong statement of purpose, though you will be require to pay for Msc acceptance fee if given admission and you can decide not to further with the Msc program upon completing your graduate diploma. Go for graduate diploma with minimum of two years duration, my two cents.

I beg to disagree. Masters by research is FREE. I have three friends running the program there, I have been on this for over a year now. So long as you are offered admission, you won't pay any KOBO. So long as one gets a supervisor (Dr or Prof) willing to supervise. If it's masters by coursework or taught, I will agree that it ain't free to all.
Are you referring to scholarship or what? Bro, if you are an international student without scholarship, you are going to pay full for your master of research.

Goodday house, there is this Australia scholarship award for african and it was stated that you must return to your home country after the scholarship programme, what if i want to remain in Australia permanently and not return to my country, is it possible or is a must that i return back to my home country.

Cos my intention is to stay there permanently after the scholarship programme.
If you are on scholarship whether government, private or any kind of scholarship, no post study work visa for you after concluding your studies, na home straight unless you run your PR parole before your visa expires.

If I may ask, what course did you study and where you working in Nigeria before moving to Australia.
Forget about his degree and where he's working in naija, there's always this stereotype "Australian experience" unless your degree and experience are from the western countries, upon getting here only few secure jobs relating to what they are doing in naija, most switch carrier or do something related, above all the long term gain is the factor motivating ppl.

Hi, does it mean with 60 or 65 points one can get an ITA in the above occupations irrespective of other occupations requiring 70 and above points in subsequent rounds.
Depending on the occupation you are nominating in civil engineering profession, civil engineering professional, civil engineering draftman, construction or concrete worker etc and as for Agriculture with 55points in some occupation states like Victoria and the Northern territory will be willing to sponsor you. (Each territory in Australia is responsible for more than 90% of its agricultural products, the government doesn't allow interstate transportation of farm products except in some very rare conditions as a result of this agriculture is massive and many ppl ain't aware of this)

Despite the fact that they didn't exhaust the ceiling for civil engineering professionals last year, they still increased the ceiling this year. Does this increase we see correlate to the fact that more civil professional are required in the Australian labor market?

Guess it's a good thing, more so it's not on prorata.

Kamal7 prepare for your ITA.
Construction and Agriculture are very big in Australia.

Thanks for this eye opener, but i would like to know, how long does it take to get the certification for the aged care/disability
Also, are there other certifications one can do to help one get job ontime so that one can plan for it alongside, cost of getting a car and so on. All these will really help those of us planning resume by July. thanks.
Depending on the agency you register with usually btw 2 to 3months, cost of getting a car varies depending on what you want but with AUD2500 to AUD3000 you should get a good car. Nearly every job need certification as the guy i quoted rightly said and the most annoying thing is that most do ask for Australian experience even if you wanna work in a carwash, be prepare to compete with Asians and Indians for the limited job available because na them full this place and they engage in all sorts of work even the least expected. Another lucrative industry here is the construction industry, very hard to enter just like our oil and gas industry, blacks in this sector are countable.

Hello guys.
I arrived Australia 1 month ago and til today no job. Pls my advice to those coming in is to make it a must that u know how to drive .
Every job here requires certification. Even if it's to pack shit.
Again, Pls any guy who wishes to get a sustaining job must be physically fit. When I say fit, I don't mean boxing or fighting skill with Lagos conductor . U must be ready to stand and work at least 8hours.

White people are very strong. I mean they work out alot
I got a job and I was to offload containers. I did it for 3days and I ran. This was because I wasn't used to hard labour back home.

One good thing about this place is that once u ve finished ur certifications u start getting jobs.
.under 1month I have done up-to 5 certifications to increase my chances.

Pls whosoever is coming here should have at least 2000aud. Because e no easy o at first o. E no easy o. I repeat e no easy.
At the bolden, most ppl think that right at the airport they will be begging them to come and work, this was my thought and some of other Nigerians we arrived almost same time last February, only few ppl will be fortunate to secure a job in the first month of arriving which will not be even regular, I know about 5ppl still looking for job up till now, was fortunate to secure a permanent job 3weeks ago since arriving and the job is very hard as you rightly said. Another factor is student visa will restrict you from getting certain jobs, my visa status restricted me from getting two juicy jobs.
The job that pays a little high for students is aged care/disability and will took you months to start working due to certification, training and own vehicle is at times required.
Regarding the figure you quoted above AUD2000, to be candid it's too small, half of it will go for accommodation (bond and a month rent for an average rent) and the other half won't last for a month for someone that just arrive.
In short Australia is a nice place but if you don't want to suffer prepare very well for your first 4 to 6 months my two cents.

There is no way that you won't belong to a sect either actively or passively because Islam is a religion that can't be practice in isolation, once you meet someone like you saying same thing or a like mind, that a group indirectly besides you observe your solat most especially jummat in a mosque of your choice, indirectly you belong to that group, the most important thing is to find a Sunni congregation (those you certain that they uphold the sunnah) and be align with them whether passively or actively because a day is coming in which you will need the assistance of the ummah.

With the present status quo, nobody fit rule Nigeria successfully, the template (constitution) in which Nigeria is operating on is a fraud, the only thing that can bring Nigeria out of her quagmire is total restructuring.
