God is bounded to his Word. He honours his word above his name. God CANNOT do anything aside his Word. He acts not by emotions, nor by feelings but by His word.

Could God can intervened in that situation to save the girl without altering the "free will" of the perpetrators?

Though this was not for me but nonetheless I have a right to respond because the nature and goodness of my Father is being lampooned. God cannot intervene without man's invitation and corporation by faith. The reason being that He has given the Earth to man. God said, "let them have dominion and rule over the Earth." I believe got sought for man to stand in the gap for the girl but found none. Good is good and He is indeed love!

[quote author=felixawe post=75905885]Pls NL from immemorial people closes eyes while prayer is ongoing
why do one closed eyes while praying ?[p/quote]

Focus! Looking unto Jesus Christ the beginning and end of my believe and confessions. I love closing my eyes because it gets my mind focus on what really matters. Thou will keep in perfect peace whose mind, thoughts is stayed on thee for he trusted in thee.

One of the weapon Satan have in his arsenal is distraction. He will do anything to distract you away from the truth of who you are now and have in Christ. He knows the moment you gets hold of the truth you will indeed be make Free.

We are victorious in Jesus Christ, but to be passive in the face of satanic attack is dangerous. Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ doesn't stop Satan from attacking a child of God, standing on the victory that Christ has accomplished on our behalf is not only about just receiving the benefits but we must be willing to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to put Satan and his minions in their place whenever they raise their ugly heads in our affairs - Satan needs to always be reminded of our victory by the power of the Word.

I love the last part of your comment. Putting Satan in rememberance of our victory over him in Christ is how we overcome. It is our good fight of faith.

I once went to a church in Anthony Village. They would send buses as far as Yaba and Ketu picking up young children to fill this huge hall. Prayer time was "pray for your mother! Pray for your daddy! They are sinners! They are going to hell!" About a thousand children 6 year old to 12 would be rolling on the floor crying to God to save their mummy and daddy from going to hell. I must have gone 4 or five times. I was 9 at the time and I always wondered what type of dreams such people have.

That church deserves not to exist. They don't know the truth. The scripture says, "we're the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and not sinners." We were but not anymore in Christ' if you believe.

Thank you brother.

I humbly want to point out something. God is not planning to bless me again for he already did that in Christ Jesus. God is calling us to believe what He has already done in Christ for us, and not for us to keep hoping and praying for Him to do the things He has already done.

Jeremiah 29:11 I know the thoughts I think toward you, declares the Lord, thought of peace and not of evil.

God is thinking of you right now and he is thinking of you forgiven, healed, blessed and favoured in Christ Jesus. He sees you strong, bold and wonderfully made. God's will for us is good all the time. God cannot device mischief against you, for it is against His nature. God's will for us is good but He will not impose his good will on you.

No one can hinder God's will for your life except you through unbelief. We saw this in the life of the children of Isrealites. God stated his will, thought and intentions when He came down to deliver them from Egypt. God's will was to bring them out of Egypt and take them in into the land flowing with milk and honey. But did God succeed in his will? No He didn't. Was Good so powerless that He couldn't bring His divine will to success? Was it the Canaanite that stop God from accomplishing his will for the Isrealites? The answer is "no," it was the Isrealites except Caleb and Joshua that stop the will of God for them through fear and unbelief.

Can two walk together except they agree(Amos 3:3). They agreed not with God, hence could not continue to walk with God. Their will was quite opposite to God's will for them. This guy's(from twenty years and above) perished in the wilderness according their own will, and not according to God's will. God made his loving will clear enough when He appeared to Moses in the burning bush. The problem is not God's goodness, the problem is man's unbelief. Jesus could not do many works in His home town because of unbelief. Unbelief separates man from the eternal power of God.

Believe today that God loves you and cares for in Christ Jesus.
Believe now that you are the very righteousness of God in Christ.
Believe you are already healed in Christ regardless of the lying symptoms and witness the power of God pouring forth into your spirit, soul and body making you whole according to your believe.

I only need scriptural backing from u. the levites had a command to take tithes according to the old system of worship because they have no inheritance among the Israelites so the tithes was for their welfare and not to build or maintain the temple. where is it stated in the bible that a pastor of a church has the command to take tithe among fellow Christians.

The main reason for some of the wrong practices in our Churches today is the Church not knowing the difference between the old Testament and the new testament. If there is a new agreement, then the old cannot stand. But we still see churches trying to follow the instructions contained in the old Testament. And these instructions are not consistent with the new testament teachings. If we stick to the teachings of our Lord Jesus and his Apostles, we will not have problems. But we still follow the old Testament which has long been abolished. I pray that the Church will realize this quickly and avoid pit falls in the name of Jesus.

 right. They confuse the two.

YOU CANNOT ROB GOD OF YOUR TITHE AND BE PRAYING TO THE SAME GOD FOR BLESSINGS.

If you will not tithe, you will keep struggling. There are things you must know about tithing;

1. Tithing is what God uses to test you if you are matured enough to handle great resources. Just 10 percent of your increase demanded by God will keep you eternally away from struggles.

2. The Poor can become rich by tithing, the rich can become poor by not tithing. God is no respecter of persons.

3. You are where you are by your decision to either tithe or not to tithe.

4. Tithing is the easiest instruction God gave us in scriptures that commands the greatest future. Indebtedness, losses, sicknesses and diseases, frustrations, begging are all evidences of a NON-TITHING LIFE.

5. Tithing is the simplest instruction because God didn't ask you to go and look for money from somewhere, it is from what comes to your hand that you pay your tithe. If nothing comes to your hand, then you are justified not to pay your tithe. But if something comes to your hand then you must tithe if things will stop being tight for you.

6. The tithe is what you remove first before any other thing.

7. You cannot pray the devourer away, you cannot fast the devourer away, you can only tithe the devourer away because it is only God that can rebuke the devourer because tithing is a universal law. He said "bring ye all the tithe and I will rebuke the devourer...." Malachi 3:11.

8. Where you pay your tithe is as important as paying your tithe. You only pay your tithe to churches or ministries or men of God that meets your spiritual needs. 1st Corinthians 9:11, Galatians 6:6.

Please pay your tithe, so that you will change levels a thousand times better even before this month ends. Malachi 3:10.

Everything changed when I accepted and believe that I am already pleasing and accepted by God in and through Christ Jesus. My Christianity took a new turn. Wrong believing has kept man out of the transforming presence of God for so long. We can experience the mighty presence of God here on Earth through resting in the finished work of Jesus Christ. I am speaking from experience.

so, today I was having a conversation with some of my friends and one of us who is a theist made a statement “well I believe in god because at the end of the day if there is a god I would be save but if there is none, then I have nothing to lose.”
Then immediately I remembered about the Pascal's Wager. Now I think many theists just believe in god just in case there is a god at the end of the day so they would have nothing to lose. But I am sorry the actual truth is if you use the pascal wager you have a lot to lose
(1) The most prominent argument is that you tend to believe only ONE god exists. Now let’s look at it, there are many more religions and there would be many more gods! To rule Over these other religions. And there have also been more gods that do no longer exists. Now if you believe "your god" is the "right god" that will be very funny of you, what if there is a god at the end of the day and you chose the wrong one, you’re no better than an atheist who does not even believe in any and at the end of the day you end up in the same destination which the “right god” has set for people who don’t believe in him.
(2) countless number of people believe that there is an afterlife, a life where when you have left the earth you dine with your god. And most of these gods tend to make you believe that once you suffer here on earth you will enjoy in the afterlife. So, most people choose to suffer on earth so they can enjoy in the afterlife *tragic*
(3) thirdly, if you think there is a god, you will lose a lot of things. You lose the only ONE chance you had to live under the sun on this planet to enjoy yourself and think for yourself. Meaning You lived the one and only life you had, based upon a lie. If a Muslim, for instance, is wrong, he has lost all for instance their entire belief system, and most especially their morals.

Sorry, I don't live on Pascal wager or whatever you call it. I frown at such thinking anyway. I am experiencing God everyday of my life and his awesome presence is with me always. Because I believe the right thing.

Not so fast, Muttley...

Two things here:
1) When you hear the word "whatsoever", what springs to your mind?
2) Muttley, I'm already disoriented from this rollercoaster of scripture washing and distortion you're subjecting me to here. The passage clearly said "whatsoever comes forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD'S AND I will offer it up as a burnt offering.". So, pray tell, where are you getting this "If it happens to be an animal..." bit? This statement or anything at all that looks like it cannot be found in the verse. Lol @ this devious insertion of yours. Come to think of it, aren't you even committing a sin here, Muttley?
Revelation 22: 18-19
Anyways, back to the topic. Muttley, let me tell you something...

It’s clear as a sunny day, Jephthah made a barbecue from his daughter, his only child.

Look very well at what the text says:

Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah ... And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands, Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering. So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD delivered them into his hands.... And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child.... And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back. And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the LORD, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth.... And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed.
- Judges 11:29-40

He sacrificed her, Muttley. He cut her throat, like a sheep, and burned her body as an offering to Yahweh.
By "bewailing her virginity," what is meant is that she is to mourn the fact that she will never bear children, never fulfilling the one purpose that women in that society had; the one thing a woman had which was seen to have any value (non-virgins were treated as damaged goods because a man couldn't be absolutely certain that any baby she had was his unless he knew she hadn't slept with anyone else).
Understand, human sacrifice was not forbidden. Sacrifice to other gods was forbidden. Yahweh didn't find favor with Abraham because he didn't sacrifice his son — he found favor with Abraham because Abraham proved he was going to do it (see Genesis 22:1–19).
We see this in multiple places throughout the Old Testament:

a) In the Ten Commandments in Exodus 34 (the actual Ten Commandments which were written on the stone tablets and described as such in the Bible — the ones that talk about not offering yeast with a blood sacrifice or boiling baby goats in their mothers' milk — not the spoken commands issued at the base of Mount Sinai in Exodus 20 that we are more familiar with), God instructs that firstborn sons belong to him, along with the firstborn of one's livestock. We see this also in Exodus 22:29–30.
b) Samuel hacks King Agag of Amalek to pieces before the Lord in 1 Samuel 15. King Saul lost favor in the eyes of Yahweh because, when ordered by Yahweh (through Samuel) to kill the Amalekites - every man, woman, and child, and all the livestock - while Saul did kill the Amalekites, down to the last child, he initially spared their king and kept some of the Amalekites' animals alive to be sacrificed at the temple instead of killing them all on the spot.
c) In 1 Kings chapter 13, 2 Kings chapter 23, and 2 Chronicles chapter 34, it is documented that King Josiah "did what was right in the eyes of the Lord" by smashing idols and graven images to other gods and burning their priests on their own altars
d) In 2 Samuel 21, God is appeased to end a famine when David has two of Saul's sons and five of his grandsons killed.
e) In Numbers 31, Yahweh orders Moses to order the slaughter of the Midianites. All of the men are killed, and Moses is angered to learn that women and young children were kept alive and orders them killed as well — except for virgin girls who are to be divided among the army as war spoils (sex slaves). Beginning in verse 25, Yahweh tells Moses how to divide the spoils, including the girls, who are listed alongside livestock to be distributed. A portion of each type of livestock is to be set aside to be sacrificed to Yahweh, including 32 of the surviving girls, as "heave offerings."

Even passages explicitly condemning human sacrifice (such as Leviticus 18:21 and 20:2) do so in the context of describing those sacrifices being made to other gods (usually Molech). Other members of the Canaanite pantheon, such as Baal and Chemosh, make appearances throughout the Old Testament — each of the nations had a national deity, with Chemosh being the god of the Moabites (for example) and Yahweh being the god of the Israelites, and depending on the fortunes of war between these nations one could begin to see the others' god as being more powerful. The Bible describes a battle where the Israelites are forced to retreat because the Moabite king sacrifices his son to Chemosh and gets a supernatural boost as a result (2 Kings 3:26–27).

Human sacrifice was common throughout the region, and women were regarded as cattle. It was a savage, barbaric time, Muttley.

Good night, MuttleyLaff

If you are still arguing that Jepthah use her daughter as a burnt offering like a sheep after the beautiful explanation of MuttleyLaff, then you are being dishonest to your self. It crystal clear that Jepthah never used her daughter for a burnt offering, if you read the whole chapter in context.

Apostle Paul admonishes us to present our body as a living sacrifice to the Lord. Does it mean we are to burn ourselves up for sacrifice? We know what Apostle Paul means, only the deceitful ones will think otherwise.

Religion / Re: Why Do Christians Keep Struggling With Sin? by bloodofthelamb(m): 10:27pm On Jan 30, 2019
RCCGLSCPH:
If we truly are righteous in Christ Jesus, why do we need to be reminded to live righteous lives? If we are new creations and have a new name (2 Cor 5:17), why do we still struggle with sin? If I am filled with God’s Spirit, the Spirit of love, joy, and peace, why do I yet struggle with the lack of love, joy, and peace?

The puzzle is not to be resolved by distinguishing between the way God sees and the way we actually are but by distinguishing between the way we actually are and the way we experience ourselves. Though our true identity is established by God when we trust in Christ, our experienced self-identity—the way we habitually see and experience ourselves—remains largely intact. In terms of how we see and experience ourselves, we are yet largely controlled by the pattern of the world.

God doesn’t destroy who we are with all of our memories, our habits, or our past associations when he re-creates us in Christ Jesus. He rather seeks to transform all of our memories, habits and past associations on the basis of our re-created identities. We do not automatically see and experience ourselves as we truly are in Christ. Therefore to some extent we continue to think and act as though what is true about us in Christ were not true.

The problem is that we have internalized messages from our upbringing, culture, past experiences, and our own rebellious ruminations that are not true but that continue to influence us, even after we’ve received our new identity in Christ. When we fail to view ourselves as though what God says about us in Christ is true, we often think and act according to what Paul called our “old self” (Eph 4:22).

The result is that our true identity as defined by God conflicts with our experienced self-identity, inherited from the pattern of the world. When God said, “Let there by light” (Gen 1:3), there was light automatically, because in the beginning there was nothing to oppose God’s voice. Yet when God says, “I declare you to be holy, spotless, infinitely worthwhile, and loveable in my sight,” there is a false identity in place that resists this divine word and that has to be confronted.

Because we habitually thought and lived as our old selves before receiving our new identity, God’s proclamation of who we truly are in Christ must overcome our old self-identity that we continue to experience.

This is why the true identity we have in Christ is not automatically experienced in our hearts and expressed in our behavior. It is why there is a discrepancy between what God says is true and what we habitually experience as truth. This is also why there is a discrepancy between what we ought to do, given our true identity, and what we in fact do because of our experienced self-identity. It is why there is an ongoing battle between the Spirit and the flesh (Gal 5:17).

Because we have failed to see ourselves as dead to sin.

Please teach me, what will i do to get enternal life? Please go straight to the points by precepts upon precepts, lines upon lines, here a little and there a little. ISAIAH 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

REVELATION 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

PLEASE WHAT IS THE FIRST LOVE? Revelation 2:4
PLEASE WHAT ARE THE FIRST WORKS? Revelation 2:5

REVELATION 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

PLEASE WHY EVERYBODY WILL BE JUDGED OUT OF THOSE THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE ?
PLEASE WHERE CAN WE FIND THE THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE , OLD & NEW OR ONLY NEW TESTAMENT?

HEBREWS 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, [color=#990000]ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

PLEASE WHAT ARE THE FIRST PRINCIPLES OF THE ORACLES OF ELOHIM?

Acts 16:31 And they replied "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, you and your household." Amen.

ROMANS 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

Those who don't wish to keep the LAWS, COMMANDMENTS, STATUTES & BALANCED JUDGMENTS, how are they going to enter into the kingdom of ELOHIM ? please i want to learn teach me.

It is grave injustice to oneself not to read scripture in it proper context. This was a letter written by Paul to the young believer's in Rome. This is a letter of the Goodnews of how God has made us right himself not through our obedience to the law, that we cannot even obey perfectly but through his Son Jesus Christ.

It is the truth that those who obey the law to the letter shall be justified. But who is that man or woman that can boldly declare that he is not a transgressor of the law? Show me a man who says he fully follows all that that is written in the law without fail and I will show you a liar.

The scripture declares all man a transgressor of the high and lofty standard of God and therefore in need of grace. The law can never make people right with God because people cannot cannot keep it perfectly without missing the mark.

Apostle Paul was explaining the law and how people who obey it are justified by it. No matter how good your intentions is to keep the law, you just can't. Justification through Jesus Christ by faith is the power of God unto salvation and right living. Justification cannot be attained through the law. It is impossible!
