In truth, you can only choose to be conscious of your thoughts...can one really choose what he thinks at all times? Even when in church I've had some of the darkest thoughts but I just smile at them lol cos I know that's not me, those are just the elements of my mind. And this truth becomes easily acceptable when you understand 'your mind' hasn't always been your responsibility, it was nurtured by too many circumstances, guardians, situations and the likes. I don't want to condemn myself but my mind which used to be my friend has become my enemy, and is working against my progress with God. It's not easy to just 'think in a certain kind of way' because you asked me to do so. I know all these things. I just can't think them. Jeez, I wish I could just go back to my past to erase it, so, i can just concentrate on the present.

, it's not that easy. I made some mistakes in my past. I know God has forgiven me, but condemnation won't let me move forward with God. Every new day, i get burdened with guilt, regrets, disappointments and fears. The noises in my head is hindering my fellowship with God and i fear i might be stuck in the past forever, i might never be able to enjoy the presence of God like before, when i was lighthearted. I might never be able to genuinely dwell in the secret place. I think i might have ruined my chance of a happy life.

How? I'm in a very rough place in my life where it's easy to just turn my back and abandon my faith. I have nothing to strengthen my faith rn, but I'm fighting to believe. What strengthens your faith in the invisible?

Sometimes i wonder if there is really anything in the after life, but even if there is nothing there and i ended up living wisely and believing that there is, i have nothing to lose than, dieing and realizing there is actually God after denying him.

Of cause, I have sinned but that sin will make me a sinner if I refused to repent and trust in Jesus for more grace. If you are born again you can still fall rather than dive into sin. A Christian resists rather than embraces sin. Any dead fish can float downstream but it takes a living one to swim against the flow. Christians still get tempted and can sometimes fall into sin but they are no longer slaves to sin (See Roman 6:6). We have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to help us say no to temptation and to convict our consciences of wrongdoing if we sin.

I think it's simply an indication of the bond you both shared while he was alive. You perhaps still think about him and that's understandable. I've been having a similar experience about a school colleague who passed away late last year. I'm not bothered by it though. I'm only sad about his early death. Might be because of my perception of death.

I don't subscribe to dreading the memories of loved ones once they die. I see death as a debt we all must pay. We are all under a death sentence, only some have to die before others. In the end it makes no difference who died first. Memento Mori.
