Where do you guys find these ridiculous stats? Can you name a specific person who owns these cows or is just rumors you deal in? About 75% of entire cows roaming the streets and villages in Southern Nigeria are own by Southerners. Fulani are just employees of these people. Quite a numbers of political class, Elites, wealthy people, bankers, civil servants, artisans, etc are doing this business. |

I am in my late 20s and the current relationship I have with my fiance is hitting the rocks because I don't even last up to 10 seconds during sex(yes, it's that bad). We have been together for awhile now, but these days I can really see she is really frustrated at me. Anytime we make love, I end up being ashamed. Please I want someone to help me out a permanent solution. Thanks as I await responses from meaningful NLers. Try bluechews pills for the 2nd rounds. I think they would help. You'll have to figure out how to get it to ship from America to Nigeria. |

This is strange. Texas is a Republican state, a state with no state taxes and without the overbearing regulations that hamper California. It's a miracle he won that ticket as a Democrat.
Can it turn Democrat with the continuous inflow of Hispanics to the state? Only the future can tell. Not really Dallas County is very much a Democrat area. Its been that way for at least a decade. |

If you dont like the map boundries adjust them. All those places are part of Rivers till they vote to succeed from the through legal means or by force. Instead of crying about just correct it. gidgiddy: Someone should tell Wike that Ndoki, Asa and Egbema are ethnic Igbos who have part of their lands in Abia and Imo as well as Rivers State. The Egbema in Rivers(Egbema-Ndon LGA) isnt any less Igbo than the Egbema nextdoor in Imo(Ohaji-Egbema LGA)
Someone should tell Wike that what he is calling Oyigbo, was initially known as Obigbo, until it was carved out of Imo and put in Rivers then renamed "Oyigbo". An imposed name can never be more important than an ancestral name An Act of the National Assembly for the purpose of boundary adjustment of any existing State shall only be passed if-
(a) a request for the boundary adjustment, supported by two-thirds majority of members (representing the area demanding and the area affected by the boundary adjustment) in each of the following, namely-

(ii) the House of Assembly in respect of the area, and
(iii) the local government councils in respect of the area. is received by the National Assembly; and
(b) a proposal for the boundary adjustment is approved by -

BigBashiru: The British are a force for evil in the world. The influence of the British in the world is evil but they are quite good at hiding it. A case in point is COMMONWEALTH OF NATIONS headquartered in London. The British continues to loot former colonies to this day through this rogue institution. They took Nigerias and other countries resources and said it doesn't belong entirely to those countries, that those resources are common and shares resources between the uk and those countries. If they're so evil you wouldn't need to tell lies about them to get your point across. First it was slavery now it's the common wealth that any country can leave at will that's your issue. |

thebosstrevor1: You wrote misinformation down.
Madam tinubu and the rest were still selling slaves in lagos coast.
Have you been to badary before?? Go and read history there, slave quaters built by african slave traders still exist.
Slave trading was fueling the monarchs during that period, the british had to force them to stop it and make them focus on exporting palm oil. The way these idiots start waking up in morning and lying is amazing. The British were instrumental in ending international slave trade and domestic. If this weren't common knowledge I might feel compelled to make a thread on this history. |

RuudVanNisteroy: Insteady of retrenching the civil servants in the state. Why don't the sell the multi-billion luxury cars in their convoys, stop hiring private jets to fly locally and internationally, stop staying in presidential suites in hotels both in the country and around the world, stop using state resources to fund elections and party activities and repeal the multi-billion naira life pensions for former governors. Why can't they do both? Second everyone that brings up cutting executives cost doesn't specify how much is spent on it vs hiring thousands of unnecessary workers. |

omohayek: As elegant as this line of reasoning is, it flies in the face of the reality that Nigeria has gone from 12 states under Gowon, to 19 states under Murtala, to first 21 and then 30 under Babangida, and then to 36 under Abacha. It's true that all of these new states were created under military rulers, but even with the limits on accountability during military rule, the resistance against sharing revenue with new states would still have been a factor, and yet they were created all the same. It's not as if civilian rule has been that much less autocratic and dictatorial since 1999, or we wouldn't still be seeing the arbitrary jailings we've witnessed over the last few years under Buhari. It seems we might who's correct on this issue with Southern Kaduna being the first case study. |
Politics › Re: How To Constitutionally Create A New State. by Blue3k(op): 3:51pm On May 27, 2021 |
A new Southern Kaduna state won't happen for 3 reasons. The allocation will get smaller for every state, Electoral politics will change and fact this would simply lead to rush for new states. They could simply join a majority Christian state by them like Plateau. I think that would be quicker option thats more likely to succeed. |

On state policing, Shehu said the president was initially concerned that governors who are unable to pay salaries to their workers want to give guns to police set up by them, adding that if it is what Nigerians want, the president would have no option but to support it. Besides, he added that to implement state policing will require amending the 1999 Constitution, and Buhari has never rejected constitution amendments. Buhari has no power to veto Constitutional amendments logically speaking. Every amendment is passed with 2/3 majority of NASS and majority of states with 2/3 majority in those legislatures. Only an idiot would not pay the cops they'll just not work or protect you. |

This idiot garbage shehu just spewing trash out mouth. He should be fired unless his boss is directing him to make a fool of himself. The presidency announced Buhari’s approval for ranching and revival of grazing reserves nationwide. But he reiterated that banning open grazing without an alternative is not a good approach to the issue. It's funny every solution to this so called intractable problem doesn't involve herdsmen changing their behavior first. They should go buy or lease land. That's a solution to everyone's problem. Second what happened to the NLTP that you guys were talking about? The willing northern states said they donated land so, why they move there and do business? |
Politics › Re: El-Rufai Evicts Civil Servants From Assets, Gives Wives, Children - Peoples Gaze by Blue3k(m): 9:44pm On May 24, 2021 |
ivolt: Even without the Land use act, the governor would still have the power to allocate government lands to his cronies. This case is different from ejecting genuine land owners and reallocating such lands to his friend.
Without the land use act, this governor can still claim lands under eminent domain using false pretext. Pay peanuts to the original owners. Wait for one or two years and discontinue the "public good" project citing better use for the land or insufficient funds. Hand over the land to a private firm for "better" management or private-public partnership, the firm can then reallocate the land as it sees fit or develop it on behalf of the intended final beneficiaries.
Laws are insufficient for stopping powerful crooks. What's your argument here dont improve the laws restraining executive power because it can theoretically be abused? The law is an improvement because they'll have to pay market prices then courts and legislatures could restrain in ways that isn't possible now. |
Politics › Re: El-Rufai Evicts Civil Servants From Assets, Gives Wives, Children - Peoples Gaze by Blue3k(m): 9:29pm On May 24, 2021 |
ivolt: This has nothing to do with the land use act. The land was never owned by the civil servants to begin with. Moreover, eminent domain isn't a magic wand. A law is as strong as the society and institutions enforcing it. The land use act gives the governor the power to allocate lands to his cronies. It doesn't need to be a magic wand. The law just has to be superior to the current one. NarcoPolo: No but the act was designed for this very reason. I concur. |

The land use act in nutshell. On my thread arguing against this stupid law mumus will accuse you of being pro herdsmen. I dont see why individuals shouldn't directly own the land like they do every other assets they own. The government only can live with only having the power of eminent domain for vital public uses. |
