How many PhD students in Nigeria or even Lecturers are capable of doing so? Do you expect people being paid peanuts as salaries without any research grants whatsoever to fund their own labs?

Some of you get to western Lands and then forget where you're coming from. Please face reality. It is very difficult for a Nigerian Academic to own, fund or even run his/her own private lab

Hope you know how much those instrument cost. I have disagreed with his submissions. From what he writes, he is either not based in Nigeria or not knowledgeable of the Nigerian Situation. Even sales reps earn more than an assistant lecturer in Nigeria - a PhD student that ought to conduct original research. Original research is time and capital intensive. That's why in the USA for example, . PhD students operate under a funded Principal investigator and not on their own.

Setting up a private lab is quite capital intensive. Funding is necessary for research; whether private lab or govt lab. The story remains the same. Funds are needed. Please note that wip7 conducts his research in a western society with easier access to funding. He isn't a good basis for comparison please

It is possible to acknowledge that SFcomander has gone too far in the needless and persistent dropping of false info and also agree that some of your approach towards calling him out were somewhat extreme.

It is always important to know when to separate issues and above all the need for empathy when dealing with fellow humans because we are not infallible ourselves.

Digging up a few old posts without context or a proper understanding of the poster's psyche at the time does not prove anything but the fact that regardless of our present stand we are all capable of being uncouth and resorting to harsh/unkind words, but that still doesn't make us bad people.

Truth is that we all have our own personal reasons and motivation for embarking on this quest to join the NA and regardless of those reasons I don't think anyone is more deserving than the other, especially considering that whether one is deserving or not isn't even up to us either.

At the end of the day it is up to the universe/fate/God to crown our efforts, so why should we bother ourselves with non issues that are not part of our target. Sheath your swords brethren and "Live and let's live", but that wouldn't stop anyone that behaves anyhow from getting dragged(non extreme dragging)

We need to keep the sanity of this thread. While I agree that no one is above occasional bad behaviour, we must hold ourselves to high standards as prospective officers.

Besides, no one judged him as unfit to be commissioned, rather that he should behave properly online as this could determine a whole lot.

Only the Living can actually become Army Officers. If someone is concerned about security, it is a valid concern.

Even when you'll do road match during your training, you'll be provided with escorts. Why? For security reasons. Banditry and kidnapping seems like a joke until it happens to you or someone from your family. I don't pray it happens to you (don't get me wrong). These same bandits were not afraid to exchange gunfire with sentries at Command and staff college Jaji..can you imagine? The issues of security especially in Kaduna are not to be trifled with Sir.

I am for changing the venue to the South west or south east or even Port Harcourt. Security first Sir. Not saying these areas are 100% safe but their security is better than what is obtainable in Kaduna. Mind you, I'm a DSSC applicant but still I feel for those that have to travel to Kaduna for SSC screening.

Why it may look like an addition or subtraction may be because the possible internal memo release was edited from a previous one by the army itself. It's nothing new with these type of similar news.

People's gazette carried a fake news that the test we set for was postponed till further notice.

Also, SGcommander, I advise that such news of "you've seen your name" should be kept to yourself. Its not wise to say such at this time.

Please I also advise all that any news of when the list would be released should be suspended for now till when the list actually comes out. Let's not start spreading lies and half truths. Integrity is the character of a good officer
