izzou: If the new tarriff is a rip off (which it is), then people should disconnect themselves from the Discos.
I will pay 14 million for less than 24 hours monthly, and then I will now pay 40 million for the same?
40,000,000÷1500 = 26,000 litres 26,000÷30 = 800 litres per day
Isn't this better than 40 million of nothing?
And Nigerians are the biggest losers. We were supposed to have hit the streets back then, demanding for prepaid meters 100%, but some people thought they were smart by using more appliances on estimated billings.
Discos were not supposed to collect 1 naira on estimated billings, but ensure everybody has the prepaid meters.
I really feel for people on Estimated billings..Na Pepper and Atarodo una go see. U didn't factor in the cost of a generating plant that will be genrating the alternative to Disco's power for u. Those Perkings Generating set are freaking expensive now |

Ellexy: How it's going... I saw a friend's status yesterday night lamenting how he paid he got 20.6 units after recharging 5k on his prepaid . Imagine , how many days that one wan take last ? That means with 20k he will only get less than 83 units . Imagine what that will do to businesses .... Later people will be asking why is the dollar rate going down and price of commodities not coming down. A barber's operating cost will increase , a welder's operating cost will increase , those selling cold drinks will have an increase in their operating cost, even the woman that grinds pepper u eat at home will have to Jack up her price to pay electricity bill and breakeven. When Tinubu said "Let the poor breath ", I think that statement was a sarcasm. Tinubu probably believes vast majority of Nigerians are rich or maybe living above average . That's the only explanation for this continued strangling hold on the people's throat with all these anti-people policies |

https://www.nairaland.com/5220466/truth-delta-tradition-forbids-married I just glanced through the thread and saw this: If the woman is married to an Isoko or Urhobo man and cheats, her children will fall sick and die. She also dies if she still refuses to confess. I believe there are several women who would've cheated and none of their children died. I am willing to bet that if they do DNA for kids from 100 different married women in that Local government they won't get a 100 over 100 result. The only reason why u will not see any woman come out to snarl at the superstitious believe is because if a woman comes out to admit infidelity/adultery she's already hanged herself in an African society. |

Women sef would like to have two men at a time...but I'm sure they wouldnt want to pay the financial price that men pay.

Like u've never seen a man with two wives that can't even feed his family nor send his children to school ? I've seen enough of them bro. The few Administrative they picked were majorly first class and those with ICAN or ACCA. Itsrm: It's a ruse. Our forefathers were jealous people who couldn't stomach thoughts of their wives cheating on them. They invented all these series of lies to keep them in check.
And when the women cheat and lose their son or husband, they say it's because they violated the tradition forgetting there are hundreds of others who have cheated and didn't lose anyone. Na this thing I been wan talk for morning , but I just decided not to cos I see the way so many people believe those stuff as real. The thing is in Africa whether we decide to accept or not; we kinda have this unwritten rule that sees a lady cheating as a greater sin than a man cheating . A man will live all his life keeping two different families . One that he raised with his legally married wife and another one he raised with a concubine outside wedlock . The wife at home will be oblivious of the other family until after his death when they are either conducting wake keeping for him, at the burial site or when the man's will is about to be read. Everybody expects the wife to accept the other woman and her kids . But a woman is not expected to even have a concubine not to talk of having kids for the concubine sef . |

TrebleChamp: You will be amazed with what some tribes practice as tradition in this country till this day. In some parts of Edo and Delta State, a married woman cannot cheap on her husband. Any woman that does will die a slow and painful death, yet married men can cheat on their wives and nothing happens. Na poverty still dey make those kind culture exist in some parts of the country . U will notice that people who hail from that same part of the country who are very much well-to-do and most likely living in the city would not even consider such traditions when a family member dies. It's only families domiciled in the village with struggling relatives that keep such obnoxious traditions alive . Imagine when Wunmi Obe's brother ( the son of Chief Olu Aboderin the founder of punch newspapers) who was married to Stella Damasus died ; make person come dey tell Stella Damasus that she must marry one of her husband's relatives.
