Nairaland GeneralRe: What Is That Habit You Really Need To Stop Comes 2019? by BluntBoy(m): 11:39pm On Dec 31, 2018
Procrastination.

I hope I am able to fight it. Procrastination causes me to always clear up backlog of works every weekend and this takes up my Saturdays and Sundays and affects my social life.

I want to be able to be free on Saturdays and Sundays to visit my father and godmother. Perhaps, I can have enough time to think about settling down and having my own kids.
PoliticsRe: Why Do People Support Buhari?? by BluntBoy(m): 8:01pm On Dec 31, 2018
iCauseTrouble:
Politics is all about sentiment and you can't remove sentiment from politics. If you are benefitting from this present government and you are supporting Buhari, I swear, I have no problem with you. My major problem is with those suffering and still under this government and still shouting Sai Baba. They're the biggest fools to me.
That is how one was supporting and campaigning for Buhari in my bus the other time and still asked me to buy food for him when we had stop over. I just told him to go and collect his feeding money from Baba grin
Would you blame Buhari for every beggar you see on the road, even if the beggar is the major cause of his own hunger?

And who told you that the Buhari supporter who begged you for food did not have money to buy his own food? So, because he asked you for food, it automatically meant he had no money to buy his own food?

For me, I support Buhari. And it has nothing to do with whether the government favors me or not.

I know Buhari is a good man and that he means well for the country.

FYI

Osibanjo was having fun with two well known strippers... They're from USA, but come to naija to sleep with politicians... They are always at the popular strip club at Lekki
Supposing your info is true, what is the assurance that the girls with Ayade (aside the Miss Africa) are not strippers or prostitutes?

Remember that my questions were influenced by the post of someone who wanted to compare the girls with Ayade with the girls pictured with Osinbajo.

You should be asking him "why the hate?"

That question is for him.

You aptly captured our situation here in the Politics section. It's such a pitiable cesspit, filled with bigoted foul mouthed lie peddling deviants, completely bereft of astute cerebral content.

When you desire sound intellectual engagement, it is a risk to come around here.

I wish I could fit into the so said Romance section.
Honestly, the section has sunk really badly.

There is hardly anything worth considering that is brought here that ever gets the true attention it deserves.

Poor you. cheesy
Yes, that is what to expect from the average Politics section lover these days.

Strings of unnecessary words with no substance.

When you are ready to be taken seriously, you should answer my questions. That is what the Politics section should be about. Not throwing up kindergarten rants.

Maybe you are the one that's not clear on the very clear prophecy.

For if someone is bad, and doesn't change, he would remain the same in the new year, and the same goes for the good ones.

So it's very clear in the respect of the intention.
It is still ambiguous.

Supposing someone is a killer. Your prophesy proclaims that if he doesn't stop killing, he will continue to kill.

And supposing the killer is wealthy. If he doesn't change, he will remain the same (still wealthy).

There is just too much wrong with your "prophesy".

In your bid to be a smart kid, you ended up being a fooolish Nematode. It seems you don't understand how things go here in the politics section and failed to visualize the message OP is trying to pass.
I will therefore advice you to stick to your "playground section" (romance) because you might just be contemplating suicide when we get started.

Au revoir!
Oh, please, shut the fvck up!

I don't know why many of you village idiots feel that being active in the Politics section makes you smart.

We all know that the Politics section breeds the most illiterates on Nairaland because it is where you are very much likely to meet unnecessarily abusive and excruciatingly stupid tribal bigots whose modus operandi is to avoid intellectual discourse.

I asked simple questions. Your puerile response is an evidence of how low the Politics section has got.

Atleast he's pictured with beautiful talented slay Queens who performed at the Calabar carnival to the admiration of all, BUT the Spare Tyre and Mere Commissioner, Professor Yemi Osubande was pictured with two fairly used sluts.
How did you know that the two women with Ayade performed at the carnival, or that they got any admiration?

At least, I know that one of the women with Ayade is Miss Africa.

And again, what is the assurance that the woman with Osinbajo is not more gifted than the two with Ayade? Perhaps, she even performed at the carnival. You never can tell.

The ease with which you label women as "sluts" is just really alarming.

Any nairalander that doesn't change, shall remain the same in the new year!

And the whole nairalanders shall say, AMEN!!!!!!!!
Does this sound like a prophesy to you?

Your "prophesy" is ambiguous. A true prophesy should never be ambiguous. It should be clear so that the hearer can understand it.

For instance, your prophesy is not specific about "change".

Change can be positive or negative.

You can change for good or become bad.

So, is your prophesy admonishing bad people to change to good people and that good people should change to bad peoplehuh
RomanceRe: My Girl Thinks I Should Give Her Stipends From My Monthly Salary by BluntBoy(m): 2:26pm On Dec 30, 2018
limbolimbo:
I recently showed interest in a neighbour of mine, I know she likes me, but she is a very traditional person, she wants us to go through the full cycle before anything further. But something started giving me a reason to worry about here mindset towards relationships.

She celebrated her birthday last month, and I got her a very expensive wrist watch, it cost me 94k, she doesn't know this. I also got her a really nice cake, cost me 10k, so in all I spent over a hundred thousand on her birthday. I know for some this may not seem like much or may seem like too much, I think what really matters is tat I was fine with it and could afford it. Within the same period, she would indirectly ask me for funds, she said she was broke, I could have helped her with this but I felt it was way above my position, as I am only a "To Be Boyfriend", to offer her all this after spending a 100k on gifts for her birthday.

A week ago we had a very interesting discussion, about the role of the man and the woman in a relationship, she said that "A man should be responsible for the upkeep of his Girlfriend, he should save a portion from his salary monthly which he should give to his girlfriend for upkeep". I thought that was nonsense and I quickly called her out on it, all I can say now is that I don't think we would be dating anymore, because she took it very personally, she said she thinks she would suffer if she goes into a relationship with me, because I am already showing signs of being stingy.

If I keep writing I would not end, so my question here is, is she right? Should I have instead given her the cash rather than the gift? Because to me it now seems she doesn't see the value of the gift and would rather have cash. I want adult opinions please.

(Please note that I am not trying to paint this lady as an evil person, she is really sweet, loving, caring, she loves getting attention and doesn't have any problem in showing me how she really feels about me, overall she is a great lady.)
You encouraged her, bro.

How can you spend over a 100k on a girlfriend's birthday simply for the reason that you could afford it?

Bro, that is extravagance.

Moreover, you have sent her the wrong signal. She will exploit you.

Please, let your girlfriend appreciate the value of money. Or did you make the money through dubious means?

Some posts could just be as senseless as the Q in queue.
Usually, I hate attacking thoughts but to bear with thoughts with clear wrong motives is not one of my many blessings.

Where would you rather people break into the new year from? Some shrine?
God kept one through some 365 days. Protected, provided, guided and was there for one through the year. You would rather we thank and acknowledge him not?

Shm at the magnanimous thrash of a question

While at it, know that your breath is but a puff of smoke in the air.
Your post is rather senseless too, at least to those who will celebrate their watch night in a shrine.

The idea of doing cross over services only on December 31st is not only hypocritical but also insignificant.

You should praise God every hour, even seconds.

In short, we should have watch night services every night, since we cross over every day.

ladies here should see those comments abt crossover night.. it ain't advisable to choose on nairaland atall cuz mostly are not well deep in the word!! A night to speak to ur destiny in begins of another 365 days journey... I pray God open their heart and eyes to see the truth
What truth?

Crossing over from December 31 to January 1 is no different from crossing over from today to tomorrow.

Life is simply continuing. You people make it seem like life always stops every 31st and becomes new on the 1st of January.

For one thing, every day should be a moment to reflect. Because with the pass of every day, you move nearer to your grave.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Sport Betting Truly A Sin? by BluntBoy(m): 12:28pm On Dec 30, 2018
gr8tone:
Sports betting to me is placing your money on predictable outcomes. If it turns out positive, you gain but if it turns otherwise you lose. I know that the Bible warns against the love for money or material things above God. But i find it difficult to see betting as a sin. Most youths today are into sport betting but the church is silent about whether it is a sin or not. I am saying this because I am yet to see any preacher publicly condamn sport betting.

I am into betting. Any one who will condamn betting as regards Christians believe should do so with Bible references to convince me. I am not upholding my opinion above others. I only seek to know.
Sport betting is not really a sin but it can lead you to sin.

It is not a sin because people bet differently. Some people bet responsibly while many bet irresponsibly. The Bible warned us about seeking for quick money and the danger that comes with quick money:

Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it. (Proverbs 13:11)

Many bettors seek quick money. It is the same with many who play the lottery or who engage in forex, and get-rich-quick schemes like MMM.

Another danger with sport betting is that it can make some people desperate and lead them to make regrettable decisions.

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” (Timothy 6:10)

When I was pastoring a church some years back, I was led by the Spirit to minister to a man who had a gambling addiction. In his desperation for quick wealth, this man had visited many native doctors and Alfas and had carried many sacrifices.

Since the Bible is silent on the issue, I can only give my opinion on the matter.

Sport betting is not a sin. However, it can encourage people to sin.

It is like doing business of buying and selling. Ordinarily, the business is not a sin but it can make you sin. Many people rip off their customers, while there are some who go the extra length to keep buyers coming.

God is against sin. Whether you are into sport betting or business or forex, you should ensure to never offend God while carrying out the activities.

Whether it is a sin or not, Sports betting is killing Nigerians slowly but they are yet to realise it. I know a man who has become a sport betting addict. He is a liability even to himself. Borrows for betting and loses. He has no properties, no salary even though he is paid a comfortable salary. Everything goes to debts!
This really should be the issue. Gambling addiction is destroying many Nigerians.

In my workplace, there are people doing this sport betting, in spite of earning huge salaries.

But betting is not the only problem. There is forex too, which is another form of gambling.
Christianity EtcRe: Church Members Kneel Down To Welcome Their Pastor.photos Go Viral by BluntBoy(m): 11:17am On Dec 30, 2018
We are trying our best to ensure that Nigerian Christianity does not reach this pathetic state but unfortunately, we are failing.

Initially, only women were so gullible. But today, even young men are becoming even more gullible than women. They are the ones defending pastors the most on social media.

I hope Nigerian Christianity never gets to the state of Christianity in many African countries where pastors kick women's belly to make them pregnant/call God on the cell phone, and other such ridiculous acts.
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Significance Of Cross-over Service For Christians? by BluntBoy(m): 11:09am On Dec 30, 2018
Realistically, there is really no need for a crossover because we are not really crossing over. We are just continuing with life.

Man created the divisions. There is nothing new about January 1. We created the idea and the euphoria.
