Let us look at history. We always fared better against teams regarded as better than us while we always flopped against teams regarded as weak against us.
In USA 94, we beat a super country like Bulgaria and almost beat Italy.
In France 98, we beat a Spanish team that had Raul and a lot of players that had just won the La Liga. Spain was regarded as favourite to win in France 98. And then, we lost to a lowly rated Paraguayan team and a Danish team.
In 2010, we thought that we were in a relatively easy group until a lowly rated Greece beat us and we struggled to hold South Korea to a draw.
In 2014, we couldn't even beat a lowly rated Iranian team but beat a highly rated Bosnian team and gave Argentina a run for their money. No thanks to a blunt striking force, we would have beaten France in the Second Round fixture.
My point is that drawing such teams as Iceland is not a guarantee that the Super Eagles would perform. It is even something to worry about.
We must remember how badly we have fared against relatively weaker teams in the World Cup.
France 98
Nigeria 1 - Paraguay 3
Nigeria 1 - Denmark 4
South Africa 2010
Nigeria 1 - Greece 2
Nigeria 2 - South Korea 2
Brazil 2014
Nigeria 0 - Iran 0
We have always struggled against weak teams at the World Cup. I am beginning to think that the Super Eagles perform better when the odds are against them.
We may be more likely to qualify and even top the group if we are grouped with strong teams. |

donnffd: Even as much as the woman did a very stupid and irresponsible thing, beating her like that is very much uncalled for, like seriously, she is not an animal, even animals deserve better treatment than this.
A civilized person would handle this issue without resulting to violence especially one against a woman...
I am also appalled by the reaction of many people here supporting the man, its disguisting and barbaric... Bro, don't be sure that you would be able to handle this situation any better than the man. It is easier said than done until you find yourself in his shoes. As for me, I don't know what I would do. Supposing my baby is still totally breastfeeding and she/he has cried to the point of turning purple and I catch the mother gallivanting with an ex, bro, honestly, I may end up in jail. |

cstr1000: lol.
Achebe's book sold because it was original. It showed primitive Africa in a non-primitive way for the very first time.
It had nothing to do with play or no play.
There are plays that are world best sellers. Is it not the same Things Fall Apart that showed human sacrifices (the killing of Ikemefuna), voodoo, twin killings, e.t.c? Things Fall Apart is not an original work. The only positive (and it is not original) that Achebe made was that he didn't show Africans as naked or as savages. And he is not the first. The Bible recorded civilization in African countries like Egypt and Ethiopia, so it was not Achebe that first recorded it. Things Fall Apart is overrated. Many people, including Achebe himself, see Arrow of God as Achebe's finest novel. There are thousands of African novels with much depth and that are literarily superior to Things Fall Apart. Plays are hardly best sellers because plays are originally not meant to be in book forms. They are best appreciated on stage then in a book. |

Threebear: Oga go back to where the argument started, don't jump in and start blabbering nonsense. We are not talking of who is greater here, we are talking of who is more successful. Greatness is subjective! I can come out today and say Elechi Amadi is the greatest Nigerian writer, that's my opinion and whether you agree or not it won't change it. But success is not measured by opinions, success is measured with facts and figures, stats and certifications .whatever are your opinions about the quality of those Afro mentioned writers works, it doesn't change the facts that their works are more successful than those writers you claim are better. A wise man verifies a topic before jumping in, we are arguing success here not greatness Get your facts right! When you expose their ignorance and inadequacies, they become overly aggressive. I read your first post where you said Soyinka was always in the shadow of Achebe. What does that imply if not that you meant that Achebe was greater than Soyinka? Your worthless criterion turned out to be book sales. Book sales in a world where rubbish in the form of an erotic novel can become a best seller. |

loveth360: you mean no yoruba was in support of the killing of ipob but some igbos are in support?.
Look many of us are were against what ipob was doing until your president send army to the east to kill people, even from your comment it shows you are in support the killings Many Yorubas were against IPOB too. What do you expect the government to do when some individuals are spreading hateful tribalistic comments and secession around, including threatening the president? Of course, the army will be sent in to protect the integrity of the country. There have been history of army occupation in recent time but none ever generated so much negativity as Operation Python Dance. Without IPOB, the operation would have gone smoothly as it did in the South South, the North and recently in the West. Why did it not go down well in the East? The answer to that question would emphasize the problem. If something goes down well in A and B and fails in C. Commonsense should tell anyone that one should investigate beyond the tools used by also investigating the environment upon which the tool was used. If you continue to accuse other tribes of hating you without you searching inwards to see what you yourself are doing wrongly, nothing will change and the hate would continue to eat deeper into you. |

Threebear: Chinuea Achebe is the most successful African writer,a close second chimamanda adichie, a simple google check will clear your ignorance. Things fall apart is one of the highest selling books in the world with 25 million naira copies sold, every thing that wole sold put together has not sold a quarter of that. Using your criterion, it means Stephen King is greater than T.S Elliot since Stephen has a high sales rate. It means Harry Potter is greater than The Bluest Eye. It means the poorly written Forty Shades of Grey is greater than Toni Morrison's Song of Solomon. My friend, literary worth is not judged by sales. There are many erotic novels like Forty Shades of Grey that sell better than books by Nobel Laureates. Does that make them better? Still going by your criterion, it means Forty Shades of Grey is greater than Things Fall Apart since it has recorded higher sales. It also means that E.L. James is greater than Achebe simply because he has sold more copies of his book. |

loveth360: going by statistics the internet has show me 90%hate igbos.yes i 90% for the benefit me doubt.when nigeria army are killing my people in the east 99% of yorubas are happy about it.all they say is kill them all.the people that did nothing to you.i have been hearing how you people hate us but i never believe but that incident confirm everything to me. I have Igbo friends in my workplace who wanted IPOB dealt with. I doubt if any Yoruba rejoiced at the killing of Igbos. But many people (including sane and peace loving Igbos) liked that IPOB was dealt with. No sane person supports illegitimate killing but the IPOB menace was becoming a problem even for Igbos in the North and West. Imagine how selfish IPOBs are. They were even ready to sacrifice thousands of Igbo lives in the North for a dream that can be actualized with restraints and patience. |

loveth360: tell yourself the truth do yorubas love Igbos ? Yorubas are well-known to be the most accommodating tribe of the three major tribes. To answer your question, we would need statistics. But in your own case, you are the one that hates Yorubas. You lump a whole people and accuse them of hating your tribe when you have no proof. That is easy enough to tell that you are simply projecting your tribalism onto Yorubas. I am sure the story you gave up there is either a lie or you have been meeting Yoruba demons. |

Romance › Re: Amarabae. by BluntBoy(m): 9:37am On Nov 27, 2017 |
Hankcc: I speak the truth and nothing but the truth. I am immensely attracted to Amarabae. My attraction to her is so profound that it's almost impossible to contain. I want to have sex with this gorgeous woman. I don't care if she is married. Something tells me she fancies younger men, evident by the fact she spends a lot of time on romance section in the company of younger men.
There are lots of things I'd want to do to her. I always imagine my lips pressed gently against hers, while our tongues roll off each other in the oasis of our saliva. I imagine abruptly divorcing my lips from our temporary orificial union and deploying them to the skin on her neck; kissing this region slowly and gently in random motion as she gasps in mild gratification.
I imagine the palm of my left hand gripping her perky clad tits, squeezing softly as my other hand makes its journey to the dripping area between her torso. I imagine her body squirm in tepid ecstasy as my middle and fore finger tickle the walls of her vagina, forcing her mucus glands to drench them with vaginal juice.
I imagine her surrendering her body to me to own and to use on the behest of her sexual cravings. I imagine stripping her of her clothes and revealing the appealing fat underneath them. I imagine ripping apart her underwear with my bare hands to unveil the image of her pusssy. I imagine my hands pressed against her throat, chocking her gently as my teeth feast on her firm, pointed nippples, biting and chewing at them while she wriggles in euphoric delight.
I imagine her moaning scattered words in Igbo and English, begging for me to get inside her. I imagine hesitating to accept the offer as I haven't finished with her outer parts. I imagine flipping her over to reveal the full shape and texture of her buttocks. I imagine squeezing them against each other aggressively, followed by some spanking as the light skin on her buttocks turns pale red. I imagine driving my palms along the skin on her back, and crawling them along the curves on her waist, culminating in the grasping and further squeezing of her breasts beneath.
I imagine flipping her over once more to do her the favour of attending to her desperate request to be penetrated. I imagine slipping my firm, blood bloated appendage into the openings of her vagina, thrusting violently in forward and backward motion as she screams and growls in complete ecstasy, unwittingly peeling off some skin on my chest and forearms with her long fingernails as her grasp on me becomes tighter and tighter until the gratification consumes her and she falls back on the bed, calm and motionless, paralysed by orgasmic pleasure.
Amarabae this is what I imagine doing to you. And I know you want it. I don't care about the moral implications and I don't care about the potential consequences, all this pales in comparison to the fulfillment of the pure and deep desire to be with you in a sexual way. It's not my fault that you are this gorgeous and irresistible. She is indeed a beautiful woman. But I will advise that you sublimate your lust into the craft of writing. You will make a good writer. Leave married women alone. |
