So, it is all the Igbos in Southwest that are prospering?

Hope you know that we have Hausas prospering in Southwest? We have many fellow Yorubas prospering as well.

It is just that you Igbos are noisemakers. You brag even more than those who are richer and better than you.

You will find one Hausa man who has made millions in Lagos keeping a low profile. But let one Igbo man make a few bucks, and he would be walking anyhow.

Politics / Re: An Apology To The Igbo People Of Nigeria by BluntTheApostle(m): 1:51pm On Mar 23, 2023
Seun:
Dear Igbo People,

I sincerely apologize for allowing a toxic political banner advert which said, "Lagos can never be run from Anambra; go and vote" to run on Nairaland for several hours on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

The mischievously worded banner advert appears to have been part of an ethnically divisive political campaign aimed at securing Lagos State for the ruling party by instilling fear in Yoruba people, making them believe that Igbo people intended to "take over" Lagos State.

Such ethnically divisive political campaigns have no place in a forward-thinking democracy, and for this reason, the ad should have been taken down instantly. No harm was intended, but my lack of forethought about the ethics of that type of advert led to a disappointing outcome.

We should have had a clear policy against accepting negative and ethnically divisive ads on Nairaland, we should have communicated it to all advertisers, and we should have taken down any advert that violated that policy instantly. This will all be in place before the next election.

We made almost N16,000 from the ad. We will double it and donate it to victims of political violence in Lagos.

Please, do NOT give up on Nigeria. The times are challenging, but TOGETHER, we will overcome.

Sincerely,
Seun Osewa.

They will never appreciate.

I always tell people: once those people hate you, just do your best according to your ability.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Neo Life Guys Frustrated My Life Today by BluntTheApostle(m): 12:20pm On Mar 21, 2023
I remembered the girl I was seeing long ago received an interview SMS. From the wordings and the location, I knew it was GNLD or similar time wasters.

I warned her, but she was an inexperienced jobseeker, unlike me who already had a PhD in jobseeking.

Anyways, we took off to the place in Lagos and got there. It was in an estate (probably to deceive inexperienced jobseekers). The building itself was magnificent, and the car park was full giving the impression that all the staff members had their own cars. Anyway, I was not fooled. But my girlfriend was. We met a big crowd already waiting.

Soon, they began to file in. I waited for her outside. We got there around 9:30 am. In the SMS, they said the interview was for 10am. They didn't file in until 12pm.

Around 3pm, my girl came outside. I wondered if she was done with her own interview. She said they put them in a big air-conditioned hall and one woman had been jabbering since morning, giving motivational talks about how she founded the company and moved it from zero to something. I told her to remember that I had warned her about these time wasters. My girlfriend was still optimist. She went back inside and did not come back until around 5pm. She said they are asking for registration fee, that I should lend her 20k. I almost lost it there. I reminded her that I had a PhD in this jobseeking field.

My girlfriend was still optimistic o. It was like jazz. I had to walk out on her before she ran after me and we left.

Vote4Obi:
FYI, Tinubu has been compensated with Lagos, but you see Aso rock, he won't be there. Unfortunately, for you guys, there are "tons" of evidence that will nail Tinubu.

You people are comedians. 😁

Some of you are saying that Supreme court will be afraid of the consequences of rulling against Tinubu. Lol, wake up because nothing will happen. Even his agberos can't do anything.

You have taken a biased view, believing that Obi won the election. This is, in fact, the problem with all of you. You controlled the narrative that Obi was the most popular, forgetting that he didn't even have the constitutional spread to win a national election. I remembered some Nairalanders from the North saying Obi was virtually nonexistent in the North, but they were mocked. Another mistake you all made was allowing presidential polls mislead you into believing that a Peter Obi victory was the only possible outcome. These polls made you forgo the numbers in the North. Also, at a point in your electioneering, you focused more on Lagos, took SS as already in the bag, and failed to establish real presence there.

Once the supreme court announces that Peter Obi is the actual winner of the election, there would be massive jubilation and people will hit the streets all over the country. Even Tinubu's agberos will be so overwhelmed that they will just hide.

Like I mentioned earlier, this is the problem with you people. Even before the election, you were driven by miscalculations. One miscalculation was concluding that the whole youth population was for Labour Party forgetting that APC has solid youth structures in every state of the federation. Some of the mumu Obidients were converting 30 million youth votes as Labour Party votes, failing to account for other factors. That is why everyone knew that you people would struggle to accept defeat even if the defeat is glaring.

Atiku's withdrawal from the case now makes it very easy for the judges.

Atiku's withdrawal from the case does not erase his participation history in the election. It doesn't erase the fact that Obi has to prove that he bettered Atiku, before even trying to prove that he won the election. His third position already puts him in a difficult position, because he has to prove that he beat the two candidates who finished ahead of him.

Even Ngige has warned you guys not to underestimate Obi but obviously, you people didn't heed his advise. Ask those that know Obi, he hates waste. If Obi isn't convinced that he has a very strong case, he would have withdrawn just like Atiku did.

First of all, anyone who truly understands the Obidient mob would know that this case is beyond Obi. He is afraid of the mob that he himself created and nurtured. Obi knows he has no case, that was why he said he was not challenging the outcome, but the process. If you are not concerned about the outcome, then why are you going to court? The only process he has an issue with is that transmission of results issue. According to the electoral act, there is a clause that allows INEC decide the process to follow. Transmission can be manual or electronic (the Act was not specific).

In fact, Obi's only problem is that INEC failed to upload results on the INEC portal in real time. Will the court cancel the election based on this frivolous case? Of course not, especially since the more major criteria were met. The BVAS was used, results were transmitted (even if manually), and BAT fulfilled the constitutional spread and the majority votes to be declared winner.

Again, his words during a recent interview shows how optimistic he is. Obi stated and I quote "... There is no way they (the judges) will rule that APC won the election, if they do that it can only mean that Nigeria is a criminal state....".

He is just playing to the gallery. And it is also an inciteful statement, creating a bias in the mind of his supporters. Now, if they lose their case, the Obidients will think Nigeria is a criminal state even if Obi's case is too watery, like Atiku's case was in 2019.

So, when I see you Tinubu supporters lamenting over Obi, I understand the fear, anxiety and foreboding deep within your souls.

Which Tinubu supporter has been lamenting over Obi?

You all like to create wishes in your heads.

Obi himself already indirectly admitted that the outcome did not bother him. His argument is that the failure to transmit election in real time provided room for fraud. He does not have evidence of fraud, only that there could have been fraud.

The man is in court because he is afraid of backing down because of the Obidient mob he created.

I am sure if there was social media then, our military rulers would have shut it down, and there is nothing you would have been able to do about it.

And when it comes to corruption. The military were equally corrupt, or even more corrupt, since they could steal without being questioned. There was no Constitution to limit their powers or check their excesses.

Jonathan did far more greater job in 2015 by instilling the tenets of true democracy in Nigeria. He deepen democracy, not because he was weak! That was why we witnessed the best presidential election in Nigeria.

But you see this Buhari, he's devil's incarnate. Now many can see why we all rejected him in 2015. America should be ashamed for supporting him too. Though, they disagreed initially, but Obasanjo that seems to be Buhari's enemy today marketed him to the West. Oyibos are far more advanced. They knew Buhari's antecedents and would not support. Alas, Obasanjo played the Joker card that changed their initial belief.

Yet again, Buhari has broken another record as the worst president Nigeria ever had. A Dead-Walking President.

You people and your stupid conspiracies.

I am not sure you know who Oyinbos are. You think they give a damn about you.

The American government would only promote American interest. Even if you are Idi Amin, if they feel they can enter into a hugely beneficial international relations with you, they would without even thinking twice.

During the Nigerian Civil War, what did America do for Biafra even with constant propaganda from Biafran emissaries like China Achebe? They chose their partnership with Britain over anything else, and silently supported Nigeria since Britain was already obviously supporting Nigeria.

America does not have a permanent friend or permanent enemy. It is all about the American interest.

They can be sponsoring terrorism today and be fighting it tomorrow. What matters is the American interest. It must be protected at all cost.

What did Jonathan perform?

If he performed, he wouldn't have been booted out.

The Economist even called him a buffoon.

The only problem I have with Buhari is the attitude of not listening to the pains of people.

When he closed the borders, Nigerians began to suffer, yet he didn't react until much later when he loosened closure.

Same thing with the naira redesign. It took him weeks to finally react positively.

The border closure, especially, failed. It was failing, but because Buhari felt it was good for local production, he refused to accommodate compromises.

In 2013, GEJ dropped the oil subsidy removal. If it were Buhari, he would have gone on with it, and Nigerians would have suffered at least for 2 months before he would consider reviewing it.

If Buhari came when our oil market was large, we would have enjoyed him better than we did. He is actually the type of man Nigeria needs. However, he needs to tone down on his rigidity. A leader should be willing to bend when a policy is obviously failing.

Figures were pulled out of thin air.

Even Yar'Adua who won the election admitted that it was a badly flawed election.

And you are here, adjuding a free and fair election with relatively minimal flaws as the worst.

Go and check the figures of votes in 2003, 2007, and 2011.

You will realize that we had fewer registered voters, and yet far more total votes cast than now. In those days, we were having figures up to 30 million votes cast when actual voters were not even up to 10 million.

In the church, you have nontransparency, allowing pastors to live large.
